Alex and the Grand Elder of the Endless Night sect left the Bluesalt tribe and made their way to their next destination, a village to the south. They were going to go around in a large circle until they came right back to the Bluesalt tribe.

In doing so, they hoped to cover an area that would have some idea about where Death had been.

The old man was against flying to their destinations, but once Alex told him he would provide Spirit stones so he could cultivate, he changed his mind.

The two flew south, arriving at the Stonefall tribe’s village. Alex didn’t want to stay for very long, but the old man was the Giftmaster of Hell. He was easily recognized and surrounded by people.

The old man himself also wanted to help these people too, so Alex was forced to spend some time in the village. Since there was some time, he decided to help them as well, so together the two of them remained in the village until sundown.

In the evening, the two asked about Death and then left once more.

The sky wasn’t as safe at night as it was during the day. The hungry beasts climbed their way out of the depths and surrounded all regions. Most of the flying beasts were in the sky, hoping to catch prey.

Of course, these beasts posed no threat to either Alex or the old man. They traveled with ease, defeating the beasts when they showed up.

Night was also a time when the Sun Wraiths mostly showed up. While they were active during the day as well, they mostly moved at night, which Alex believed had something to do with the lack of intense Yang during the night.

He felt that it was akin to being a fish out of water, which caused the Sun Wraiths to try and go around in search of a suitable home.

Due to the concentration of Sunhearts, the Sun Wraiths would normally go toward an area of settlement in the desert, but those places were more often than not protected with various formations or defended by warriors that stayed through the night and day, keeping constant watch.

So, Sun Wraiths ended up roaming the night sky, with nothing else to do.

Alex didn’t find one. It didn’t take him that long to reach the next village either.

Since the old man once again wanted to help the group, they decided to stay the night there and leave in the morning. The old man also wanted to cultivate, so it would be the right time.

Alex helped them as well.

It wasn’t until close to midnight before the two of them were free. Alex pierced through the seal around his Soul Space and brought out some Immortal Spirit stones before handing them over to the old man.

The old man took the Spirit stones with an awkward smile and began cultivating. As the old man drew in the Qi from the Spirit stones, Alex could finally properly sense his cultivation base.

Given how old he was, Alex had been expecting the man’s cultivation base to be much stronger. Alas, he couldn’t forget that the old man was born and raised in Hell his entire life. After a long day, the two of them finally had some free time, so the moment the old man was done cultivating, Alex began asking him questions about Hell and the Hell Emperor.

Three thousand years after his arrival in Hell, the old man and the Hell Emperor had decided to head deeper into the desert to acquire more Yang energy.

However, the tribes at that time were much bigger, taking over large sections of land. And they were quite hostile as well, attacking anyone else that wasn’t from their tribe.

Their group was attacked one too many times before the Hell Emperor decided to create his own tribe. Except, instead of a tribe, he formed a sect.

The old man had chosen the name ’The Endless Night Sect.’

As for the reason why he had chosen the name, he did not tell Alex.

After that, it was quite straightforward. The Hell Emperor gathered allies, trained them with the help of the old man, and conquered more and more of the desert.

The other tribes had begun banding together and fighting back as well, so it took the Hell Emperor many decades to make any progress at all. By the time they had reached the deepest part of the Inner region of Hell, nearly ten thousand years had passed since the Hell Emperor’s arrival.

It was only after that he realized that getting to the center didn’t help him at all and that he needed Sunhearts. That led to another few thousand years of war throughout the rest of Hell as the Hell Emperor conquered more and more of it.

It was only then that the Endless Night Sect had finished conquering.

Between finding more Elixir, spending time in war, and cultivating, it took the Hell Emperor over twenty thousand years to reach the Celestial realm, at which point he left the world, leaving his empire to the rest of his sect members.
