Chapter 2792: No Other Way

Alex flew into the sky as the Prison Wall was beginning to shimmer in the morning light. His sword was in his hand, ready to attack it.

The Prison Wall was all that was keeping him in. If he could break through it and go past it, then surely... surely he could leave.

As Alex arrived close to the distorted space that broke and fixed itself every other second, he filled his sword with everything he had and released it.

The attack immediately hit the wall, the shockwave from the attack flying right back at Alex.

Alex felt the pain of the force as he was right next to it. If he was any further, his attacks would lose power, so he had to be as close as he could.

Still, he gave not a damn for what he felt. His emotions ran far too strong at the moment for him to feel any pain at all.

He looked at the wall, hoping to see some sort of change to it, a hole to go through. However, he was far too hopeful. His attacks were too weak and it had made no dent in the wall at all. The distortions continued, the spatial anomaly not even stopping for a second.

"No," Alex shouted. "You can’t keep me in."

He filled his attacks with more power, and this time he used his understanding of space to aid him. Space aura formed a layer around his sword as he attacked.

The space aura disappeared almost immediately, however, not even lasting for a split second longer after he attacked. The aura simply wasn’t meant to be used in an attack.

The sword slash exploded right next to Alex again, showering him with pain. And still there was no change to the wall. The prison held strong.

Alex did not want to wait until he was a Celestial to get out of here. He didn’t have the time, nor the resources to reach such a realm. frёeweɓηovel_coɱ

He had a finite supply of his pills in the first place. Even if he were to use every ingredient he had in his Soul Space at the moment to turn into cultivation pills, they would barely be enough to help him reach the Divine realms at best.

At that point, he would need Divine pills to go any further, and he neither had the ingredients, nor the recipes for those right now.

Not to mention, he needed to turn 8 Origins into Creations. He would have to ruin most of his Creations in order to reach the Celestial realm. He wasn’t willing to do that.

"Let me out!"

Alex poured everything he had into destroying the prison walls, and yet the best they did was make the distortion distort even further. Alex was nowhere near close to having the strength to reach the realm he needed.

After doing everything he could, the truth was clear to Alex.

He wasn’t strong enough.

He wasn’t strong enough to fight the gods when they tried to send him here. And now he wasn’t strong enough to leave this place.

They had chosen Hell to keep him here forever, and unfortunately for Alex, they had chosen well.

As utter despair filled Alex’s heart, he slowly drifted down from the sky, landing next to the hut where the Grand Elder of the Endless Night sect waited for him.

"You’re suicidal," the old man said once Alex landed. "Although, I suppose you can’t die, so it’s fine if you are one."

"I can’t leave," Alex said in a small voice as he slumped down on the ground. "I have my family out there that I promised I would come visit them soon. And yet, I will be stuck here, for who knows how long."

The old man stared at Alex for a long time.

"That’s just how it is here," he said. "Everyone who comes here is stuck. Many try to fly out of the Prison Wall and end up being torn to shreds. It’s just how it is around here."

Alex looked at his sword, staring at his own reflection on the blade, reflection of the one who failed him. "Is there really no other way?" he asked. "Do I have to be a Celestial?"

"I fear so," the old man said. "Hell Emperor barely managed to do it even after he became a Celestial. So even becoming a Celestial might be the minimum requirement."

"I’m barely in the Immortal Origin realm," Alex explained. "I will have to break through another 49 times straight to reach the Celestial realm. And that’s not even counting the minor difficulties that come in between. How do I do it?"

The old man walked up to Alex and sat beside him. "One step at a time," he said. "One step after another, until you’ve gone through all 49 times."

Alex shook his head immediately. "That is far too late for me. Even if I have the will to do it, I do not have the time."

There was war brewing on the outside, and a possible stop to the war was with him in his Soul Space. He needed to get the World Tree to the Sky God as soon as he could.

But that couldn’t be done now.

All because he didn’t have the strength to break open the walls of this prison.

Just then, Alex’s eyes narrowed with a thought.

The old man grabbed his shoulders, trying to comfort him. "You can’t give up. You have to keep trying anyway."

Alex turned toward him. "But I don’t, do I?" he asked.

The old man frowned. "Are you going to give up this easily?"

"No, I’m not giving up," Alex said. "I’m just changing my plan."

"What plan?" the old man asked.

"I don’t have the strength to break through the prison wall, but I’m sure I know who does," he said with a sparkle in his eyes.

The old man paused for a moment before understanding Alex’s intention. "That is incredibly stupid, boy."

"Maybe," Alex said. "But right now, Death is all I can rely on."
