Alex became quite curious upon hearing the proposition. "Do you have any idea what exactly you are trying to do?"

Godslayer shook his head. "I won’t lie, I have zero clue what I want to do. In fact, what I do might even waste away one of your Origins. I can make no guarantees since I haven’t given anything any thought."

"And still, I will ask that you lend me one. If I succeed in doing what I want to do, I will be eternally grateful."

Alex thought for a long minute. It was difficult to immediately agree to something that had the likelihood of ruining his future. He wanted all eight Origins to turn into incredible Creations, so giving away one was difficult.

However, something in him told him to take the risk. Even if not for the likelihood that something good could come out of it, just so Godslayer could do something for himself with it.

Alex felt foolish having such selfless intentions at the moment, but he couldn’t help but have them.

Godslayer was a friend to him. He was family. Since the day he rescued Pearl from the White Tiger’s palace in the Beast Realm, he had been with this sword spirit.

Considering Godslayer was with him every single moment since he turned 19, Godslayer had been with him more than anyone else, including both Pearl and Whisker. It just felt right to be selfless for him, especially now that he had changed so much.

"I will give it to you," Alex said. "Use it however you may. Even if you destroy it, I won’t mind as long as you succeed in what you plan on doing."

Godslayer smiled. "Thank you, but I won’t fail."

Alex returned the smile. "However, you must wait a long time," he said. "I can only lend one to you when I’m capable of splitting them without my head itself feeling like it’s being split. Considering how it’s going, it will take some time. You most likely won’t get to use it until late Immortal Transcendent Realm."

Godslayer couldn’t help but laugh at that. "That’s a long time to wait," he said. "But I am okay with that. Considering you, it won’t even take a millennium."

Alex felt delighted hearing Godslayer’s praise. He was about to say something when he felt as though his Spiritual Sea was suddenly being flooded. At the same time, he felt his mind grow clearer and clearer.

He looked around, worried for a minute.

"Right, where are you again?" Godslayer asked. "Are you safe?"

Alex finally remembered. "Oh no, I am wounded. Someone must have come to get me."

Godslayer nodded. "That was the effect of a spiritual pill. You should go out and take care of the situation before someone tries to take a peek in here."

Alex hurriedly nodded. "I’ll talk to you later." He waved and disappeared from his Spiritual Sea.

When he gained consciousness in his body, he opened his eyes and stared up at where he was. He was in a room with a flat white ceiling. He blinked a few times before his spiritual sense spread out from him. When it did, he saw five individuals surrounding him.

One of whom was the Alchemy God.

Alex sat up in a rush. "Your Majesty!" he quickly called out. Then he looked at the other people behind the Alchemy God. He had seen these people around the Alchemy God before, but the only one he did recognize was Reverend Mo Duguan.

He didn’t recognize the other two men or the white-haired old lady.

"Young Dawnblade," he called out. "How do you feel?"

Alex moved his limbs around. "I feel great, Your Majesty. Thank you for saving me," he said.

The Alchemy God nodded. "And what did we save you from?" he asked.

Alex paused. "From the attackers," he said.

The people gathered around the Alchemy God stared at Alex, making him feel awkward under all of their stares.

"Who killed your guardian?" the Alchemy God asked.

Alex shook his head. "I do not know," he said. "I only saw a silhouette before I was knocked away."

The Alchemy God nodded. He pulled out a pill and handed it over to him. Alex looked down at the pill and recognized it for what it was. An Immortal Truth-Seeking Pill.

Upon eating this pill, Alex would be forced to spill out any and all thoughts in his mind, so long as they were the truth. It was a very intrusive pill.

"Your Majesty?" he asked.

"I want to know if you’re telling the truth," the Alchemy God said. "So, eat up."

Alex couldn’t help but frown. How could he eat that? He would be stupid to do so.

"I’m sorry, but I must refuse," Alex said.

"Did you kill Windborn?" the Alchemy God asked.

"No, I did not."

"Eat that pill and prove it."

Alex felt frustrated. He could understand that the Alchemy God couldn’t trust his words alone, but there had to be some other way to do things without eating the pill.

There were so many things he didn’t want the Alchemy God to find out. Information about Shumi, about Dumei, about Godslayer, and even about his association with the previous Alchemy God. These things could easily make him a target for the Alchemy God to dig in further and then find out all the other truths.

He couldn’t give him that chance.

"Here’s what I think," the Alchemy God said. "You wanted the pin that Windborn had, so you went to get it from him. When he refused, you attacked. He might have friends who fought back, and now your guardian is dead."

Alex wondered for a moment if he should tell the man about Windborn wanting to take over bodies. But then the Alchemy God would most likely ask to check his Spiritual Sea. That wasn’t happening.

He shook his head. "That is not what happened."

"Then what did happen?" the Alchemy God asked.

"Someone came for my guardian. At the same time, Windborn attacked me. We fought, and I was knocked unconscious. I do not know what else happened," Alex said.

"I will trust you as soon as you eat that pill and tell me the same story."

Alex gritted his teeth. Unlike with Windborn, there was a good chance that he wouldn’t be able to hide it should he devour the pill before its effects were put to use. So, he couldn’t eat it whatsoever.

"I must refuse, Your Majesty," Alex said. "I can only ask that you trust my words."

"How can I trust you when you won’t eat the pill?" the Alchemy God asked. "Just eat it, and I will trust you."

Alex shook his head. "My apologies, but I won’t be doing that."

The Alchemy God leaned back and stared Alex in the eye for a while. After a long moment, he nodded his head. "Very well, if that is what you wish."

He grabbed the pill from Alex’s hand and put it away. Then, he stood up from where he sat before speaking.

"Alchemist Dawnblade, due to your refusal to comply with the committee’s requirements for finding the truth behind this incident, you are hereby disqualified from the tournament."
