Era of the transmigrating earth-Chapter 2143: No Nation Exists Here
Not long after, the three settled into an inn. A powerful sweep of spiritual power engulfed the entire city, naturally unnoticed by anyone, given the vast difference in levels.
"Inside the city, there are indeed only two tier-seven leaders, one at the late stage and one at the mid-stage. Besides them, there are no other strong individuals. The surrounding rune arrays were also set up by them and carry their aura."
Du You quickly understood that outside, one couldn’t act recklessly. If forcefully scanned, it might cause quite a commotion and fail to find what was needed. But now, inside the city, it was much easier.
With their means, even though the city had many preventive measures against powerful figures, they were of no use against them.
Lin Yucha began eavesdropping on all the conversations around, gathering and analyzing the information. Especially from those strong beings, the weak ones couldn’t possibly know much.
Two days later, to gain a clearer understanding of this world, Du You took action. After quietly capturing the two tier-seven city lords, he forced them under control.
This time, it wasn’t about creating doppelgangers but directly controlling the soul.
From these two, Du You finally learned a lot about what he wanted to know.
"I didn’t expect this world to lack a state organizational form, quite similar to the Home World. Do you think this world was deliberately designed this way to test changes in the Home World?"
This is highly possible. Recently, due to his influence, the Home World has seen significant changes. The world will could have created such a world as a prediction exercise.
However, because of how the world was created, being a tier-nine expert, he naturally got sent here. Just lucky maybe, as he’s possibly the only one who entered. He has no idea about other tier-nines, but he’s never encountered them in the Outer World, nor has his doppelganger.
"Perhaps, but it might also be an instinctual response from the world will."
After all, the two worlds are vastly different. While this world comprises cities too, it’s unlike the densely packed cities of the Home World, nor bound by the technological forces there.
Although cities serve as the main bodies here, each city claims a large surrounding area. The gaps between cities are quite large.
Large cities are independent, yet small towns fall under the dominion of bigger cities, layered in control. Though not states, they’re somewhat similar to city-state nations.
Additionally, professional compositions in this world lack technological types.
From what they’ve learned, the profession types in this world roughly fall into four categories. The first is the warrior type, present everywhere, and the most numerous.
The second is the magic type. Mages and warriors together represent most of the professional system, which is quite diverse. The third type, summoners, are a supplementary class.
The last main combat profession is unique and possibly a characteristic of this world.
This profession is also about modification, not element creatures but bloodline modifications.
This world has rich bloodline modification expertise. They can extract powerful magical beast bloodlines, integrate them into oneself, and refine across generations to become special magical beast bloodline professionals.
Such people inherently possess powerful magic power and physiques, along with some innate special abilities, just like magical beasts. They also learn normal combat and magical abilities, making them incredibly strong.
Among all professionals, these humanoid beasts are the strongest.
However, they exist as family units, as the profession is hereditary.
Families with strong magical beast bloodlines are powerful entities, often the ruling family of a region. Yet, the profession isn’t without flaws, as every generation the strength diminishes.
So, to strengthen themselves, they hunt powerful beasts sharing their bloodlines.
Yet, these beasts are strong and hard to kill, causing serious casualties in families. Some even vanish entirely, while the mighty keep such beasts for further bloodline extraction.
Each generation re-extracts beast blood to keep strong, preventing lineage weakening.
It is a specialty where the strong grow stronger and the weak diminish. Yet, many pursue this enhancement method tirelessly. Even common methods of bloodline modification are open knowledge.
The city’s two lords haven’t undergone modification and are quite clean.
Major cities fight almost daily, yet remain somewhat stable overall. Regarding powerful figures, these two are indeed in a somewhat remote area, making them strong at tier-seven.
Closer to the center, there are more powerful individuals, including tier-eight. But tier-nines are unknown since it’s beyond their reach. After thoroughly questioning both, Du You gained some understanding of this world.
"So, what do we do next? Start building a city to initiate controlling this world?"
Upon hearing Lin Yushi’s words, Du You pondered and said, "First, we must better understand the specifics."
Lin Yucha suddenly suggested, "Master, why don’t you stay to build the city while we delve deeper to continue investigating? That way, nothing will be delayed."
"Alright, sounds good. Let’s go with your plan," Du You considered. Given their strength, they likely won’t face danger here. Even against a mid-tier nine, they might not lose, and no one could stop them from leaving.
As for a late-tier-nine, Du You wasn’t worried. Though powerful, this world is too fragmented to naturally produce late-tier-nine experts. The difference, though a single step, is fundamentally huge.
Moreover, with their current pace, they’ll soon reach mid-tier nine. This is within the world’s manageable scope, the fastest possible "advancement" pace.
