Era of the transmigrating earth-Chapter 2084: Experimenting on the City Lord
"The Magic Array has been modified. Next is the testing. You don’t need to step in; I’ll go out myself."
The two sisters weren’t worried at all, because Du You’s strength was well-known. "In that case, we will maintain the Magic Array. Whenever you give the order, Master, we’ll give him a good show."
Du You nodded, then ascended directly into the air, releasing his power.
The people below felt the enormous pressure, glanced up, and then turned to run.
"Truly someone who grew up in a war environment, their reaction speed..." Du You watched these people run towards the shelter but didn’t care much; he wasn’t after them anyway.
Meanwhile, another strong aura rose from the City Lord’s Mansion. A ball of fire appeared instantly, condensing in the air before Du You, forming a human shape, finally consolidating into a middle-aged man.
"Who are you, looking to invade?" The man stared intently at Du You.
Du You nodded, "That’s right, I intend to take over your city and become its lord myself."
"Arrogant fool, I don’t know where you’re from, but you’re not qualified to act recklessly in front of me, Hong Guang. I’ve personally sealed two Elemental Lords before."
This self-proclaimed Hong Guang was a Fire Elemental Lord. Before Du You could continue speaking, the opponent made a move, not even caring for Du You’s self-introduction. A red beam shot from his hand, and Du You could tell it was highly compressed Fire Element. Though it was just an instinctive use of the Flame Law, it was quite impressive.
"Not bad, not bad at all," Du You’s eyes flashed with appreciation, then waved his hand similarly, not using his specialty in the dark elements but opting for the Fire Element instead.
The flames in Du You’s hands compressed, forming into the shape of a Flying Bird. Not just one, but successive ones, quickly growing into a large flock. These birds flew with incredible agility and speed, and their fiery power was immensely concentrated.
Surprise flashed in the opponent’s eyes because his fire beam was blocked by the Flying Birds, showcasing incredible agility. Strangely, the fire beam was quickly scattered and absorbed, while Du You’s birds only suffered mild damage. After rapidly absorbing the surrounding Fire Elements, they quickly recovered.
"What a formidable guy," shock flickered in Hong Guang’s eyes. The enemy before him was extremely dangerous.
Such methods were not inferior to his own, possibly even stronger. Both being Fire Elemental Lords, while they could harm each other, their endurance was formidable, setting the stage for a long battle.
Hong Guang was fearless too; after all, this was his territory. With the help of the Elemental Pool and Elemental Tower, so what if his strength was inferior? One of the Elemental Lords he sealed was stronger than himself.
With a thought, the Elemental Pool started providing him power. The Elemental Tower lit up, shooting beams of concentrated red light in Du You’s direction, remarkably similar to Hong Guang’s attack methods.
It seemed he designed and built the Elemental Tower himself.
"Infusing your power as the core, interesting, but your use of power is lacking." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Although Du You’s body was of the Dark Attribute, his understanding of various elements was strong, and he possessed the Flame Law himself. At the pinnacle of the ninth tier, his comprehension and application of the Flame Law were beyond the present opponent’s capabilities.
Using less power than the opponent, yet the number of Flying Birds was greater, seemingly forming a special Magic Array.
All attacks around them were effortlessly blocked by the Flying Birds, allowing them to attack freely. It didn’t take long for Hong Guang to realize this wasn’t working because his expenditure was greater than the opponent’s.
Continuing like this, if the opponent had some special method, it would be him getting sealed next.
"Do you have no other methods?" Du You was puzzled; the current Hong Guang only had this singular approach.
Perhaps that’s the result of not researching techniques, always renovating and renovating. Although they eventually became Elemental Lords, their combat methods were few, similar to the regular Elemental Lords.
Not even fully elementalized, they couldn’t perform long-range elemental attacks, only close-ranged ones.
Hong Guang’s expression changed, "Humph, as you wish, let me show you my Elemental True Body."
With that, Hong Guang’s entire being reformed into Fire Element, rapidly expanding. His comprehension of the Flame Law was about compression and concentration of Fire Element, which was why he appeared as just a red mass, without visible burning flames.
Before long, Hong Guang transformed into a shape resembling a bipedal Flying Dragon, not a full dragon, with only two legs and two wings. Covered with numerous protruding spikes, it looked exceptionally fierce.
He opened his mouth, spewing out a mass of red Light Balls. Each Light Ball consisted of Fire Element compressed to the extreme, possessing tremendous destructive power. Seeing this, many people below cheered.
"Look, it’s the City Lord, the City Lord’s Elemental True Body. Now that invader is doomed."
Yet some looked worried, "Every Elemental Lord has their Elemental True Body, but the opponent hasn’t used theirs yet. The City Lord using his first signifies being at a disadvantage."
These remarks were soon drowned out by other voices, causing no real stir.
After all, humans tend to think in ways that are most favorable to themselves.
Seeing these red Light Balls, Du You’s eyes brightened with an idea; although it was only an instinctive elemental application, it was quite well-executed. But Du You wasn’t inferior, immediately placing the elements in front of himself.
A fiery vortex formed, instantly engulfing all the Light Balls. After a round of spinning, they were directly reflected back by Du You. Clearly, Hong Guang hadn’t expected anyone to wield power to such an extent.
Caught off guard, he was directly struck by his own surprise attack, tumbling several times in mid-air.
Since it was his own power, the damage and loss weren’t significant, but it was quite humiliating. Elemental Lords’ battles were all about attrition. Whoever could deplete the other to a critical point first would have the chance to seal them and claim victory.
If this went on, it seemed he wasn’t a match at all, leaving the City Lord feeling a bit unsure.
