Enemies Are All Nourishment for My Fungi-Chapter 259 - : Arriving at the Next Linping Secret Realm
Chapter 259: Chapter 259: Arriving at the Next Linping Secret Realm
Ye Nai really enjoyed her little secret, knowing that her strength wasn’t sufficient yet, she had to keep it tightly concealed. When she was promoted to an Iron-level Hunter, a bunch of people online were unhappy, and the Awakener website even called her for an explanation, making it clear that with her weak strength, she could only be bullied by others.
She was still better off, being a chosen one, as long as she didn’t die on the way, she was destined to stand at the peak in the future. So, her mind was broad and open, and she didn’t care or pay attention to what others said about her, indifferent to whether or not she was liked. But what about an ordinary Awakener who was suddenly accused online of cheating and forgery, could they remain calm?
After leaving the Secret Realm, Ye Nai stayed in a hotel for the night. The next day, she went out to handle the orders her mother had made previously, and after getting the tracking number, she sent it to her mother.
Not long after, her mother sent a message, indicating that the specialties from the Sky Smoke Secret Realm were rare, and some leader wanted to place additional orders.
Ye Nai held her phone, thought for a moment, and replied to her mother’s message.
“Why did you take on more orders when you knew I had already entered the Secret Realm?”
“I didn’t want to either, but that was from the leaders above. If I refused, how could I continue to work at my unit?”
“I don’t have any extra meat to give you. If you want to add to the order, you have to pay more, and I will buy it from someone else for you.”
“You don’t have any meat left?”
“Do you want to add to the order or not? If you do, give me the money for the previous meat orders so I can go buy it.”
“The leader’s order hasn’t even been paid for yet; they’re just verbally committed.”
“Does the leader want to freeload? Does this help you with your transfer? If it helps, then we can do as we agreed upon last time. I can give it to them, but if they take it and don’t follow through, I’m flipping the table.”
“Didn’t we agree not to mention the transfer because the enemy has reappeared? Having a good relationship with the leaders is the same as getting a promotion within the unit. A familiar environment is always better than going somewhere else.”
“If you don’t leave, what about Yu Jiao’s education resources?”
“It’s no big deal; she’s still young. Online courses are enough, and I’ve even given her my laptop specifically for online classes. She’s very diligent, practicing problems every day. In the future, when she goes off to take exams, it will be the same. By that time, I’ll have retired, and wherever she gets accepted, I’ll follow.”
“Fine, let’s not talk about those issues, just give me the money for the meat.”
Yu Qing quickly sent a screenshot, without the leader’s name, but it contained four different orders with specific requirements. Luckily, Ye Nai had all the Mutant Beast Meat they asked for, all thanks to the Fungal Mycelium that wasn’t picky and caught everything.
“The leader wants so much; you go to buy it first, see how much it totals?”
“Just this once, not to be repeated.”
Ye Nai put away her phone, returned to the hotel to prepare the additional meat order, but didn’t rush to ship it. Instead, she spent half the day wandering and eating in the streets, stocking up on fresh food needed for the journey ahead. When it was about time, she went to ship the goods, then sent the tracking number to her mother, doubling all the prices as she asked for payment for the meat, and informed her that she was heading to the next Secret Realm, telling her to decide all at once what kind of meat she wanted.
Yu Qing received the tracking number and replied, reminding her to stay safe on the road.
After another night at the hotel, Ye Nai checked out early the next morning and continued heading north in her RV, towards the next Secret Realm, the Linping Secret Realm.
After three days of travel, Ye Nai safely arrived in Linping City, bought a batch of fresh food, then restocked at a hotel. She messaged her mom and received a new order.
The meat requested this time was different from the previous ones, requiring whole, Good Grade cuts without being sliced. Clearly, this wasn’t for personal consumption but for commercial use. She wondered what kind of big deal her mom had struck over the past few days.
Ye Nai couldn’t be bothered to ask. She quoted a price slightly lower than the market price in Linping, refusing to bargain. If anyone tried to haggle, she’d just sell directly to the local government-run meat factory.
Half a day later, Yu Qing replied to the message, agreeing to Ye Nai’s quoted price and even increased the order, urging Ye Nai to ship the goods as soon as possible to catch the Lunar New Year’s shopping rush.
Ye Nai accepted the full order. If it really was the higher-ups who had facilitated the deal, her mom might have just clung to some influential coattails. If the leadership had a sliver of conscience, her mom might even get a promotion at work.

After spending the night at the hotel, Ye Nai checked out the next day and set off again. She drove her off-road vehicle through three danger zones to reach Town No. 1 before entering the Secret Realm.
The Linping Secret Realm was a temperate forest environment. So far, all detected interior environments of Secret Realms were forests situated on a vast plain. The forest environment blocked communication signals, and building communication towers within Secret Realms was not an easy task. The public information available suggested that drones weren’t effective in exploring such environments, but whether that was actually the case remained unknown to civilians.
This classification of temperate forest was derived from comparisons with forests in other Secret Realms. There were forests in the north as well as tropical forests. Going into further detail and applying Earth’s forest classifications appeared suitable, cumulatively creating a planet with a complete ecosystem.
And these were just Secret Realms, areas forced into Blue Star from another planet. Considering the multitude of Secret Realms around the globe, each representing a small piece of land, the size of the enemy’s planet was a topic of enduring interest among netizens.
Upon entering the Secret Realm and arriving at Town No. 2, Ye Nai saw small shops doing business by the roadside and Awakeners sitting at outdoor tables, eating and resting. She parked the vehicle and strolled the streets back and forth, settled at a stall serving noodle soups, and ordered a bowl of braised meat noodles, eating while listening to the surrounding conversations.
By the by, she released a massive number of spores to scout a path through the forest.
The forest was indeed a great place for growing mushrooms, but alas, her spores only grew into Fungal Mycelium, not fruiting bodies.
Ye Nai was far from panicked. She knew that spores and Fungal Mycelium were energy devouring entities. Still young at nineteen, she was confident that as long as she didn’t die along the way, she’d eventually see them grow into mushrooms.
Before she could finish her steaming and aromatic bowl of braised meat noodles, her Space started ping-pong with incoming items.
Wild rats, as always, sorted into three categories: Rat Teeth, pelts, and cleaned-out full bodies.
In this busy place, if there was any prey at all, it was these omnivorous wild rats in sizeable numbers, each one plump, with even the half-grown ones looking sleek and glossy.
After eating her fill, Ye Nai sat down on a bench by the street, basking in the warm sunlight of the Secret Realm and burping contentedly.
It had been a while since she left the Five Bridges Secret Realm, but this was yet another well-operated Town No. 2.
Not to mention the previous Sky Smoke Secret Realm—Town No. 2 there was shrouded in dense fog. Ye Nai spent many days there, and if it weren’t for her breaks in the East Ridge Secret Realm, she feared she might become infiltrated and moldy from the pervasive fog of the Sky Smoke Secret Realm.
While leisurely sitting and digesting her meal, three people approached the bench. Two stood upright, looking like Hunters, while the third was slightly hunched, exuding the very essence of a salesperson.
