Chapter 237: The Reunion?

’The rats were the excuse?’ Leonard was dumbfounded. He couldn’t comprehend what her intention was.

A strategist’s words could never be blindly trusted.

’She’s definitely misleading me.’ He thought to himself. To mess with his mindset, she was doing all these flirtatious acts for a reason.

He needed to retract his hand now!

Alas, the moment Leonard wanted to stop their interlocking fingers, Eleanor suddenly pulled him closer with a little bit of force.

He was immediately caught off guard and landed straight on her lap. His arm was wrapped around her neck in the meantime, during his attempt to balance himself.

"You’re quite aggressive, Leon." Eleanor turned to him and mused. "Are you going to conquer me here?"

’This woman...’ Leonard’s pupils constricted. He was starting to lose more and more of his mind when dealing with her.

She was intoxicating and dangerous simultaneously, almost like poison ivy.

Her body fragrance was also affecting his sense of smell.

’There it is!’ Leonard swiftly snagged an item that was attached to her waist and hopped off her.

"May this be our last meeting." He exclaimed and triggered the item to unlock the room’s door.

A few seconds later, he dashed outside.

"Crown Prince?" Curtis detected his presence and was about to greet him, only to be in disbelief when Leonard ran past him.

"Return to our ship and get to the dock!" Leonard’s voice echoed.

Confused, Curtis turned to Mirelle, seemingly looking for an answer.

Unfortunately for him, Mirelle was equally confused by the ordeal.

She only knew that the Crown Prince seemed eager to return to the capital.

Hence, she blinked away and returned to the ship alongside Leonard.

"We’ll excuse ourselves." Curtis could only smile bitterly and informed Albert as a polite gesture.

"No worries," Albert replied amiably and showed no intention of stopping them either.

Soon, Leonard’s ship began to move away, whereas Albert entered the room after receiving permission.

"Miss." Albert bowed and greeted. Despite showing no facial expression, it was evident that he had something to say.

"Speak your mind, Albert. You should know my perception isn’t low." Eleanor sniffed her hand, which had been held by Leonard.

"The Crown Prince of Aldros... does the Miss really fancy such a person?" Albert inquired. He was unable to comprehend why she was so fixated on an infamous, incompetent, and cowardly person.

"If I say I fancy him, will you be supportive or disproving?" Eleanor’s aura suddenly dropped. Her demeanor subtly changed to that of a fearsome strategist.

Almost immediately, Albert went on one knee and lowered his head.

"I’ll always be supportive of Miss’ decision."

"Good, then make sure to mind your tone when referring to Leon. Even if it’s you, I wouldn’t be forgiving."

Eleanor’s aura quickly returned to normal.

She caressed her cheek with the same hand that had been held and interlocked.

’Lady... I’ve returned at last. Leon hadn’t changed much either, except being more excellent.’ She controlled her wheelchair and returned to the bed.

In the bed, there were special documents infused with magic that recorded Leonard’s progress.

"In one visit, he controlled 80% of Velastra. It’s just that there are still some holes that need to be filled." She muttered.

"Albert, tell those in the underground slum to start the plan."

"The plan?" Alarmed, Albert wished to advise her that now was not the best time.

However, he ultimately suppressed his thoughts and obeyed her command.

"Understood, Miss." Albert must now reevaluate Leonard’s position in Miss’s heart.

To start the plan early was never Eleanor’s style of work. Yet for Leonard, she was willing to sacrifice some of her painstaking plans.

Could it be that the collective motions against the princess were also part of her strategy?

Albert trembled in place. No wonder Miss willingly agreed to head to the Valdoria Continent which was filled with perilous moments.

It wasn’t that she was forced by her siblings and the other officials. Instead, it should have been her orchestrated plan to come over here.

"Albert, whatever is on your mind. I hope it stays in your mind." Eleanor suddenly said as she stood up and moved away the special documents.

"Yes, Miss." Albert sweated profusely. It appeared his deduction was correct, which prompted the Miss to give him a slight warning.

Others only think she was blind and couldn’t see much. But as someone who had assisted her for a long time, nobody could perceive things as clearly as Eleanor.

"Alright, start having the ship follow the Crown Prince." Eleanor dismissed him.

Once she was left alone in the room, she touched her blindfold softly.

"Says the most rude and outrageous words, but the inner mind and body says otherwise. How can someone be this cute?" She reminisced about her brief interaction with Leonard.

How could she possibly not detect such an obvious acting skill?

The people she met and dealt with were numerous times higher than Leonard.

And each one of them was unsightly with no exception.

There was always that glimpse of pitying or disdaining toward her, to the point that she believed it was second nature.

Yet when she finally reencountered Leonard, there were no such thoughts.

Instead, it was respect and admiration under the guise of repeated taunts and insulting words.

"Blind strategist, eh. I only need to see you in my world anyway." She lay down on the bed, her hand extended. A surge of mana was brought forth as she retrieved the bowl.

"When will he remember me?" She embraced the small bowl and wondered.

...

Leonard’s Ship

Upon returning to his room, Leonard barred anyone from entering.

"This Eleanor woman is too dangerous." He took a deep breath, only to accidentally sniff the lingering fragrance on his hand.

The fragrance was very welcoming and soothing.

"No, this is definitely a trap." He snapped out of it. He couldn’t afford to let his mind be clouded by her appearance and eccentric behavior. Still, he must admit that someone like her was worthy of his respect and admiration.

"The rumors really undermine her." He murmured.

Leonard failed to comprehend why anyone would be willing to discard her.

Only a real blind person would fail to see the greatness in her.
