Chapter 209: Lady Cassandra

Shortly after Osbert exited the Arena Sector, he made his way toward the direction of the Snake Faction’s location.

"Halt your steps, Osbert!"

A Snake Faction’s guard extended their hand and stopped Osbert from entering their base.

"Potential rats have been found." Osbert coolly replied.

The guard’s body jolted slightly upon hearing that another rat had been found.

Still, he didn’t allow him to enter right away.

"Do you know the consequences of your action today if it’s false?" The guard warned, emphasizing the deadly consequences of wasting their time and effort.

"The one who sensed them is Ted."

As soon as the name Ted was brought up, the guard no longer held any doubt.

Although Ted was a well-known lustful and perverse bastard, his sixth sense was not to be underestimated.

His natural insidious thoughts were obvious on the surface.

Even if they might not be rats, the people Ted targeted always happened to be a rotting thorn against their underground slum.

Due to such factors, they had long turned a blind eye.

After all, Ted knew very well that he needed to at least ensure the targeted individual was someone harmful and wouldn’t bring danger to them.

And his records so far had been sparkly clean.

"Lady Cassandra is inside, but beware of your speech. She’s in a foul mood lately because of the decreased income." The guard retracted their hand and advised Osbert.

Osbert thanked the guard softly and promptly entered the Snake Faction base.

As for the ’gentle advice’, Osbert wasn’t really grateful for the guard.

Who didn’t know that the purge and events on the surface level had affected everyone’s income in the underground slum?

If it weren’t for the fact that the Crown Prince couldn’t be touched, then they would have long rushed to the surface and killed the culprit for their decreased income.

Sometime later, Osbert stepped into the main hallway and spotted a person in the main center.

Their two slender and long legs were exposed, their feet lazily playing around with some snakes.

As Osbert hovered his eyes to the upper level, he could see their belly exposed and their chest nearly popping outward. His eyes started to turn hazy by the time he caught their facial appearance: alluring, mature, and enticing.

’Not good!’ Right at that moment, Osbert circulated some of the mana from within him and dispelled the charm magic.

He snapped out of the charm effect, Osbert shook his head, and cupped his fist toward the woman lying on a big couch.

"Osbert greets Lady Cassandra of the Snake Faction." He greeted her politely.

Indeed, the woman with a seductive and alluring figure was none other than Cassandra. She appeared to be amused when she calculated the time it took him to regain his consciousness.

"Not bad at all. It took you around 10 seconds to snap out of my charm." Cassandra giggled and changed her position.

She touched her slender, long legs and smiled gently. "Had you been even a second late, then I wouldn’t mind taking away one of your eyeballs."

Osbert’s body tensed up. He didn’t doubt her words one bit.

It was well-known that the lustful men who used their leering gazes at Cassandra for more than the time she tolerated had their eyeballs gouged out forcefully.

Naturally, the longer the time she tolerated, the higher she valued them.

’10 seconds is my value, huh.’ Osbert was secretly bitter. Despite doing his best to support Cassandra, all he was worth was a measly 10 seconds.

What he desired was not her body, but the power and authority she could grant.

He had dwelled within the underground slum society for a long time. Yet none of the actual profit or power was within his control.

In a sense, he was even more worthless than the lecherous and perverse Ted.

After all, Cassandra’s tolerance toward Ted was 30 seconds.

"Then shall we send people to capture them?" Osbert composed himself and inquired.

"Hmm—"

Before Cassandra could give a response, one of her servants suddenly entered the room and approached her.

They whispered something in her ears. As time slowly passed by, Cassandra’s expression gradually shifted.

"Oh dear, looks like the little sister I took an interest in has returned with two men." Her eyes squinted. "Just who is so daring enough to steal away the little sister I wanted to recruit as a maid?"

Suddenly, the atmosphere turned cold, and the snakes roaming around the area became agitated.

The snakes hissed with their slithering tongues, and their eyes started to lock on Osbert.

Osbert’s eyes widened in disbelief when he sensed danger. He hurriedly shrouded himself with mana and planned on retreating to the room.

Alas, the snakes had already latched onto him and consumed his mana in a greedy manner.

"Lady Cassandra?" Osbert quickly darted to Cassandra and called out to her.

"Apologies, but my tolerance has gone lower." Cassandra crossed her legs and stretched her neck. "The little sister I’m interested in has been snatched away, so my tolerance is now 9 seconds. You are one second overboard, so goodbye."

"You—"

Alarmed, Osbert wanted to extend his hand and attack Cassandra for her heartless and ruthless method.

Alas, the snakes strangled his arms with their body and devoured him whole.

The process lasted about 2 minutes until only the bones of Osbert remained.

And throughout the duration, Cassandra held zero sympathy or empathy toward Osbert’s death.

"This man might not be lustful, but he sure is power hungry. I wouldn’t mind playing along with him a bit more, but my mood has soured." Cassandra extended her hand and allowed a snake to slither upward. The snake rubbed their head coyly on her neck.

"Tell me, where are they now?"

"They’re in the Food Sector, Lady Cassandra." The servant replied.

"Food Sector, huh. Is that how those two men lured away my little sister?" Cassandra’s expression turned cold. She snapped her fingers, and some of the snakes turned into clothes, dressing her as she prepared to head toward the Food Sector.

...

Food Sector

"Ellie sure is a foodie." Leonard patted Ellie’s head softly and shook his head.

"You nearly emptied my wallet with the amount of food you can eat."
