Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking-Chapter 575: Tiny Celebration
--
Chancellor Igor felt really good at this moment...
He could feel the strong currents of Chaos Energy coursing through his body, making him subconsciously clench his fists in excitement. He felt this long-lost sense of youthful vigor after this transformation. It's as if he returned to his prime.
Of course he also noticed that he's visibly younger as well, and even without his conscious thought, his appearance would stay this way. His true dragon form was nice too. He didn't get any bigger than his previous size, but he's certainly far stronger than he was. He felt like he could wallop his old self with a single hand in his current state.
But the most important part for him was the fact that he now fulfilled his lifelong wish. He finally felt like he was a proper Ancient Being, only he was hundreds of thousands of years too late.
This achievement put his heart at ease. With this knot untied, his state of mind sublimated, and his spirits refreshed. It's like he's treading on clouds. He felt light and airy like never before.
And all of this was because he made the right choice to trust this child who pioneered this path for the current era.
"Thank you, Child. With this, I no longer have any lingering regrets." Chancellor Igor whole-heartedly thanked Cedric.
"I couldn't have done it without your guidance, sir. If it weren't for your generous act of lending me your insights, I would've stumbled a lot in this path, so I can't claim all the credit," Cedric humbly replied.
Everybody who heard him knew that he was being genuinely humble despite his achievements, yet his statement was a lie. Even without the old dragon's help, Cedric could've figured this all out on his own. Yes, he might take some wrong turns here and there, which will delay him, but it certainly wouldn't stump him.
"Tsk! Aye, let's get rid of this mushy atmosphere! Let's get drunk instead! Come on, you old fossil! Let's get smashed! We won't stop until we're puking out our guts!"
The Primal Beast Chancellor interrupted the atmosphere and suggested that they celebrate instead.
Chancellor Igor grunted because he knew that this guy was just targeting his stash with how he was rubbing his paws and looking at him expectantly, but he did take them out anyway.
"Woohoo! That's what I'm talking about." The Primal Beast Chancellor yipped in glee as he saw the old dragon taking out his barrels of booze. He looked at the Divine Celestial Chancellor and said, "Oye! You too! Don't hold out on us now. Bring out the good stuff, brother!"
The Divine Celestial Chancellor rolled his eyes but didn't refuse. Even if he could, he wouldn't, since this was indeed one of the times where it just makes sense to do so. Even if the Primal Beast Chancellor didn't say anything to him, he'd drink some by himself anyway.
Of course, the others also followed suit, bringing out their personal stashes of drinks to celebrate the success of their breakthroughs. The only exception was Cedric, who couldn't because he didn't bring any with him.
"Well, you guys have fun. I still have work to do and data to compile." Cedric smiled at them, not really concerned about not having anything to contribute to their little celebration and also not too interested in joining.
He disappeared on them before they could say anything. Well, they could've stopped him if they truly wanted to, but they didn't because they knew the kid was just an honest workaholic.
Gulp! Gulp!
"Tsss, ahhh!!!" The Primal Beast Chancellor let out an exhilarated sound after downing an entire glass of booze. He wiped the residue on his mouth with his arm and said, "Whew! That hits the spot! I wish I could drink this every day."
"Only in your dreams, my friend. Only in your dreams." Chancellor Igor grumbled as he drank his as well.
"This feels good," Sir Flint muttered as he lay down on the vacuum of space as if it were solid ground, holding a mug of booze. "No, I'm not just talking about drinking, but the breakthrough itself. I never imagined that I could still become stronger than before. It's so exaggerated, though."
"True." The Holy Spirit Chancellor hummed in agreement. "I feel like I could defeat my previous self without even breaking a sweat."
"It's even more ridiculous that this was just the start." Silas chimed in, "Don't forget that our Inner Worlds could still expand up to 10 billion miles. It's going to take some time, but it's a steady growth. It's hard to say just how pervertedly strong we're going to be once we fill that space with Chaos Energy."
"..." The Divine Celestial Chancellor didn't feel the need to say anything more, but it's clear that he too felt the same. Right now, he's more fascinated by the changes in his divine construct.
A brief silence came for a bit, but it was dissipated when the old dragon stated:
"I'd wait until Dawnbringer makes his breakthrough. After that, I'd take a leave to take care of clan matters for a bit."
"Hm? Why?" The Primal Beast Chancellor asked.
The old dragon gave him a serious look and said, "I'd try and see if I could make my wives pregnant this time."
Everybody paused and looked solemnly at the old dragon, who acted as if he didn't say anything that surprising.
The Primal Beast Chancellor suppressed the anticipation bubbling within him, feigning a calm exterior despite his mounting nervousness.
"Here, a toast for good luck." He raised his cup towards the old dragon, and so did the others.
The old dragon accepted the toast, obviously glad that they stayed calm instead of overreacting because that's the last thing he needed right now.
Truth be told, if it weren't for the fact that they respected the old dragon's wishes, they would certainly do everything in their power to have him return to his home right away so he can get into it.
Because, you see, the old dragon never had a child, even in his very long lifespan. He had a total of ten wives; five died due to old age, and the ones that are still alive were way past their prime.
The problem didn't come from the old dragon alone nor his wives. It's also not because they didn't try, because they certainly did; hell, they did even more than that. It's just the balancing act of the cosmos for his clan. Since they're strong creatures, it would make sense that it would be difficult for them to conceive. However, this only became worse after the Ancient Era passed.
Chancellor Igor wanted to have kids. It's another one of his greatest desires, actually. However, because of the realizations he had, especially after the passing of the Ancient Era, he could only bury this at the very depths of his heart.

He and his wives still tried from time to time, but they've gotten so used to being disappointed that they're numb to it at this point.
This was why the old dragon was so devastated at the death of the Young Dragon Patriarch, because he genuinely saw that child as his own. Hell, even his wives felt the same. Alas, he was ruthlessly taken away from him by the void, and only heaven knows just how much hatred the old dragon held because of that.
The other chancellors have known the old dragon for a while. Even Silas, who was just recently promoted to the position, also does because he's been around for a while. They knew that the old dragon hadn't truly moved on from the death of the young dragon patriarch just yet, and he couldn't be blamed for that. It's even more lamentable since they also knew just how difficult it is for wise dragons to reproduce.
So when the old dragon told them that he's going to try again with his wives soon, they feigned calmness in fear of jinxing it.
They knew that this breakthrough and transformation re-ignited the desire within the old dragon, and they were also hopeful that it'd be easier this time since this breakthrough should also mean that the curse of their clan was already broken...well, for him at the very least.
If it doesn't work with just him, then he'd have his wives become Primordials too, and then they'd try again. If they still failed after that, then it could only be bad luck.
The old dragon wasn't in a hurry. He didn't even feel impatient or eager either. He's lived long enough that he's able to control his emotions.
He said that he's going to wait until Cedric breaks through himself before taking a leave. He felt that it was only proper to be the child's guardian during his most sensitive time because that child was far more important to the realm than any of the chancellors.
Yes, there's little to no risk of him being in danger within the realm. Igor would be surprised if there is, actually.
But...whoever said that Cedric planned on making his breakthrough within the realm?
