Chapter 966: Chapter 1005: An Unexpected Person

"Sorry, we only accept cash or cards here." The staff member said, then returned the form that Mabel Quinn had just filled out, "Please bring the money with you to finalize the process."

Mabel was about to reluctantly take the form when a voice beside her said, "I’ll pay for it, please proceed with the paperwork for this young lady."

That voice, it was so familiar.

Mabel quickly looked up, only to be met with the familiar face of Daniel Harris.

She looked utterly surprised, not expecting to meet Daniel Harris here.

The staff member immediately greeted Daniel Harris with respect, "Director Harris, alright, I’ll start processing it right away." As he spoke, he began the procedures, while Daniel took out his wallet and handed over the cash based on the amount mentioned by the staff.

Within minutes, the paperwork was completed.

Mabel said, "Thank you for your help, otherwise I might have had to make another trip. I’ll transfer the money to your phone."

"Okay." Daniel smiled slightly, not declining, because he knew if he didn’t accept the money, it would only make her more uncomfortable. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

"Then give me your account number so I can transfer the money." Mabel said.

Daniel then told her his account number, and soon, he received the money she transferred.

Daniel stared at the account that had transferred the money, lost in thought.

"Thank you so much again, I’ll take my leave now." Mabel said, about to leave, when Daniel suddenly snapped out of his trance, "I was just about to leave too, shall we go out together?"

So they walked side by side.

"How come you’re here?" Mabel asked.

"Morningstar is one of the sponsors for this event, didn’t you read the introduction of the organizers?" Daniel said.

Mabel broke into a cold sweat, she truly hadn’t paid much attention.

"How are you doing lately?" Daniel asked, "From the looks of you, you seem to be preoccupied with something."

"Huh?" She was startled for a moment, "Is it that obvious?"

"I can see it, what do you think?" He said, "Did something happen? If there’s anything I can do to help..."

"Yes, something did happen," Mabel said, "but it’s something others can’t help with, and I’ll work hard to resolve it myself."

"Does it have something to do with Kyle Kinston?" Daniel perceptively asked.

Mabel’s steps unconsciously hesitated for a moment.

"Seems like I guessed right," Daniel said, "Did something else happen between the two of you, some misunderstanding or conflict?"

Mabel shook her head, "It’s not what you think. It’s me, I’ve disappointed Kyle. If only I could think of a better way to handle things."

During their conversation, they had reached the door, Mabel said, "I’m leaving then, goodbye."

"Wait!" He impulsively grabbed her wrist, unwilling to let her leave his sight just like that.

Her steps paused because of this, she twitched her wrist, "Could you please let go?"

Let go, yes, he was supposed to let go! On that day, when she explicitly stated she wanted to be with Kyle Kinston, he had already decided to let go properly.

During these days, he consciously avoided meeting her, avoided thinking of her, filled his time with busy work in hopes of forgetting her, but whenever he had a moment of leisure, he couldn’t help but think of her.
