Chapter 965: Chapter 1004: Speculation

"Dorian, I owe you so much," Alice Conley murmured. ๐“ฏ๐™ง๐™š๐’†๐™ฌ๐™š๐’ƒ๐™ฃ๐™ค๐’—๐“ฎ๐“ต.๐™˜๐™ค๐™ข

"But youโ€™ve given me even more," Dorian Howards replied. "Weโ€™re married now, so thereโ€™s no owing between us. Alice, if one day itโ€™s my family in danger, I believe you would also do everything you could to save them, right?"

Alice was taken aback. Yes, she would certainly try to save them, even if she detested that person deep down. But... as long as itโ€™s his family, as long as itโ€™s for him, she would definitely give it her all to save them.

"Yes." She responded in such a way, wrapping her arms tightly around him.

โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”

Mabel Quinn figured that the current situation between her and Kyle Kinston was probably a cold war. Of course, this cold war wasnโ€™t in the strictest sense, since as long as she didnโ€™t bring up pleading for leniency, whenever she called him to talk about other things, he would still respond to her. She had Caleb deliver some of her homemade food to him, and he ate it all.

But the problem was, he just wouldnโ€™t return to the Quinn Residence and was staying at the Tavern instead. He insisted that she give him a clear answer: that she would no longer plead for Aliceโ€™s father before he would come back to live together.

But how could she give such an answer! Just thinking of Alice, she couldnโ€™t help but want to speak on Aliceโ€™s fatherโ€™s behalf, hoping that the Conley Family wouldnโ€™t truly fall apart. On one side were the living, and on the other, the deceased.

"Mabel, this afternoon, go to Century City. Thereโ€™s a film festival being organized, and you should go and register," Thomas Quinn called Mabel into his office and said. "You should know Empress the best. This film festival could be a great promotional opportunity for our film, increasing the chance of being picked up by streaming platforms."

"Alright, Iโ€™ll go this afternoon," Mabel replied, knowing this was indeed an opportunity.

"By the way, has Uncle ever contacted you?" Thomas suddenly asked.

Mabel shook her head, "No, whatโ€™s up?"

"Nothing much, just that Uncle seems to be busy with something these days, and strangely, he often stays in Granny Taylorโ€™s room, as if heโ€™s preoccupied with something. I thought you and Uncle were close, so maybe heโ€™d mention something to you." Thomas said as he observed Mabelโ€™s reaction.

"Uncle hasnโ€™t contacted me, so Iโ€™m not aware of anything," Mabel replied with clear eyes.

Thomas smiled and didnโ€™t continue on this topic. He only heard it from their mother, suggesting that Uncleโ€™s odd behavior might be related to Clover because their mother faintly overheard Uncle mentioning Cloverโ€™s name in Grannyโ€™s room, talking about some finally found clues, and if something could be found or not.

But their mother didnโ€™t dare listen too much, fearing Uncle would catch her.

Thus, she speculated whether Uncle had found some clues to locate Clover. And if Clover were indeed found, the Quinn Family might be in for another storm.

In the afternoon, Mabel arrived at Century City, filled out the form to participate in the film festival, and when it was time to pay the booth deposit, she realized sheโ€™d left her wallet behind.

Mabel slapped her forehead. For days, sheโ€™d been so distracted by Aliceโ€™s fatherโ€™s situation that today sheโ€™d even forgotten her wallet. "Can I use my phone to scan and transfer the money?" she asked.
