Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife-Chapter 959 - 997: See You
"Mabel?" Kyle Kinston’s voice rang out.
"Yes, I’m... now at the entrance of your Corporation. I want to see you, is that okay?" she said.
"Do you want to see me to plead for someone, or do you just want to see me?" he asked.
She bit her lip slightly, "I want to see you and also want to plead for Uncle Kong once more."
"If you just want to see me, I’d naturally be happy, but if you’re here to plead, then there’s no need. This matter is non-negotiable." Kyle finished speaking and hung up the phone.
Mabel Quinn stared blankly at the phone in her hand. It seemed that as long as she intended to plead for Father Kong, he wouldn’t even want to see her. How truly...
Meanwhile, in Kyle Kinston’s office, there was a dead silence. Caleb scarcely dared to breathe. Elder Kinston had been staying at the tavern for several days now; clearly, there was trouble again with Miss Qin. Earlier, when Miss Qin called, Elder Kinston had hesitated a long while before picking up.
This kind of hesitation was something Caleb had never seen before.
And after ending the call with Miss Qin, a forbidding aura of hostility enveloped Elder Kinston, as if he was about to go on a rampage, making Caleb even more uneasy.
Yet, at this moment, someone pushed open the office door and came in.
"It seems, in Mabel Quinn’s heart, her good friend still holds more weight." Francine Howards walked in with a charming smile. She had come over, looking for an excuse to probe into Kyle’s current relationship with Mabel, but unexpectedly, she overheard the phone conversation from outside the partition.
Though she only caught the last sentence, it was easy to piece together the context. Hearing that Kyle had been staying at the local tavern for the past few days, she had already had some inklings.
Sure enough, things were developing in the way she most anticipated.
"What are you doing here?" Kyle Kinston asked coldly, eyeing her.
"Just delivering a document. This time, the physical examinations for your Corporation in City J are handled by our Hospital; I need to confirm the examination time and the number of people," she replied. This really wasn’t her responsibility at all, but she had deliberately taken it on.
Caleb quickly said, "Dr. Howards, I’ll have the person in charge coordinate with you." This kind of thing didn’t actually require Elder Kinston’s concern; it should be settled by them.
"No need to trouble yourself," Francine said, thrusting the document into Caleb’s hands. "Just coordinate for me, confirm the dates and numbers, and let me know."
"This..." Caleb glanced at his superior, and seeing no response, he left with the document.
Thus, the room was left with only Francine Howards and Kyle Kinston.
"You can leave now," Kyle Kinston said coldly.
Francine, however, stepped forward instead, "Kyle, why do you insist on keeping me at a distance? You know how I feel about you; for you, I’m willing to do anything. But Mabel Quinn? What can she do for you? She talks about love, but when something happens, she isn’t standing by you. Such a woman isn’t worthy of your love, is she?"
"Have you said enough?" Kyle Kinston’s voice turned even colder, "Get out!"
