Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife-Chapter 906 - 943: The Birthday Question
"Is it really important to you?" Edward Quinn’s tone became peculiar, and his pupils suddenly contracted as he stared blankly at Mabel Quinn, as if looking at something utterly astonishing.
Why would Clover’s badge be important to Mabel? Could it be that there really is a connection between Clover and Mabel...
"Uncle, what’s wrong?" Edward’s unusual demeanor made Mabel a bit uneasy. "What exactly is this badge? Does it have any significance?" She felt that Edward’s strange behavior seemed to be tied to the badge.
"Do you know when your birthday is?" Edward asked.
Mabel was taken aback, "It’s June 29th. Uncle, why are you asking this? Does the badge have some special meaning? Could it be...related to my biological parents?" Otherwise, why would Uncle inquire about her birthday out of the blue?
"June 29th?" It was half a month earlier than the day when Clover gave birth to her first stillborn child. What was he thinking? "Is this birthday the day your father found you?" he asked.
Mabel was stunned, "I’m not sure, maybe so." Now that she thought about it, she realized she truly didn’t know her actual birthday.
If this date was calculated based on the day she was found, then her real birth date must have been earlier.
Edward smiled bitterly. Ultimately, he realized he was overthinking it; Mabel couldn’t be Clover’s child. Besides, he had seen that stillborn with his own eyes. Clover had said it was her child, and she had held onto the body for several days, unwilling to let go.
"The badge belongs to Clover, but..." Edward paused and looked at Mabel, whose expression was a mix of excitement and anxiety. He could somewhat sense that she might be harboring the same suspicion, although it was going to disappoint her, "You’re not Clover’s child. Back then, in the same year, half a month after your birthday, Clover gave birth to a stillborn."
Mabel was stunned, a hint of disappointment flashed across her face. It seemed she had been overthinking, and there was no connection between her and Clover.
Yet...for some reason, upon learning that Clover had once had a stillborn, her heart ached slightly.
"Alright, even if you have no relation to Clover, you are still my niece," Edward said to Mabel. "No matter what difficulties or troubles you face, remember to tell Uncle."
Perhaps Asher was reminded of Clover because there was some resemblance to her in this child, which is why he entrusted the badge to her for safekeeping.
Pattering her shoulder, he remarked, "Well, it’s getting late, I should be heading back." After finishing, Edward turned and prepared to leave.
Watching Edward’s retreating figure, Mabel suddenly felt a sense of solitary chill. Uncle had been alone for so many years, solely to find one person.
No wife, no children; despite belonging to the vast Quinn Family, it still seemed as if he had nothing.
"Uncle!" Mabel suddenly called, "You will definitely find Aunt Clover." That way, Uncle wouldn’t be lonely anymore.
Edward’s steps halted for a moment; turning back to look at Mabel, he seemed to evoke an impression of Clover once more. Would Clover want him to find her?
If found, would she forgive him? Would she still love him, or would it be sheer hatred?
