Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife-Chapter 905 - 942: Doubts in the Heart
"Uncle, why are you here?" she greeted him.
"I happened to be passing by, and knowing that you’ve been at the set these days, I came to check on you," Edward Quinn said. "Are you adjusting to work?"
"Yes." Mabel Quinn nodded.
Edward Quinn and Mabel Quinn walked and chatted, and the crew watched, each surprised. Everyone knew Edward Quinn was the Quinn Family’s authority figure, often heard to be very serious, but now in front of Mabel Quinn, he seemed like a kindly elder, making people speculate about Mabel Quinn’s place in this Quinn Family authority figure’s mind.
Someone even whispered, "It seems like Mabel Quinn is the real Quinn Family young miss. I heard Chairman Quinn treats her very well. On the contrary, Alessia Quinn was born out of wedlock and hasn’t been favored by Chairman Quinn."
And Evelyn Foster, seeing Mabel Quinn and Edward Quinn like this, felt everyone looking at her when they said these words, as if watching a joke, especially since she used to be the one who most actively targeted Mabel Quinn in the crew.
Now, she only wished she could find a hole to hide in, while also feeling glad she was somewhat intimidated by Mabel Quinn back then and didn’t act too aggressively; otherwise, she’d be even more embarrassed now.
Mabel Quinn and Edward Quinn went to the lounge, and Mabel Quinn brewed tea for him.
Edward Quinn gently sipped the tea, looking at his niece, inexplicably feeling that various coincidences gathered around this child.
Clover’s photo, Clover’s badge, and her slightly similar appearance to Clover, is there a connection between her and Clover? These days, his mind keeps returning to this question.
Also, his mother unexpectedly valued this child and left her many things, even giving her five percent of the Corporation’s shares. Why is this? Is it simply because his mother liked this child, or was it sympathy for her losing her father at a young age?
Today, he didn’t just happen to pass by; he deliberately came to find her.
"Uncle? Uncle?" Her voice brought him back to his senses, and Edward Quinn realized he had been lost in thought for a while.
"Mabel, did your father ever mention Clover to you?" Edward Quinn asked.
Mabel Quinn shook her head.
"Did your father ever mention the origins of the badge he gave you?" he asked again.
"Father only said the badge is very important. When father was alive, he often held the badge, lost in thought. Sometimes he’d smile, and other times he’d look as if he were crying." Mabel Quinn recalled her father back then, feeling waves of emotion in her heart. "Then one day, father told me to keep the badge safe, never to lose it."
"Never to lose it?" Edward Quinn asked, "Did your father say why it shouldn’t be lost?"
"He only said it was very important to me," Mabel Quinn replied, but to this day, she still didn’t understand why the badge was significant to her.
