Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife-Chapter 903 - 939: Not an Ordinary Person
"Thank you," said Dorian Howards.
Compared to Daxton’s carefree attitude and some childishness, Jacob Fletcher was indeed more mature and steady.
"Thank you," Dorian said, "But you two really surprised me." After all, this was something he hadn’t anticipated before.
"But you seemed to accept it rather quickly. We were initially worried you might not be able to accept our situation," Jacob said.
"There’s nothing unacceptable about it," Dorian responded, "It’s just that the person you fell in love with happens to be of the same gender. If Alice were a man, I think I’d still love her just the same."
Alice Conley was taken aback, surprised that Dorian would say something like that. Daxton and Jacob were also surprised, and... grateful.
Grateful for the understanding, given that many people had looked at their relationship with strange eyes. To them, others’ lack of understanding had almost become normal.
Moreover, from his expression and eyes, it didn’t seem like a lie.
"As expected of the husband Alice chose!" Daxton said. Although he had some grudges against Dorian before, after realizing how much Dorian loved Alice, those grudges naturally disappeared.
"But the road ahead for you two might be long and difficult," Dorian said.
A flash of heaviness crossed Daxton and Jacob’s eyes, "Yes, it will be difficult, but no matter what, we have to keep going," Jacob said. "After all, it’s rare to meet someone you truly like in this lifetime. Just giving up like that would be such a pity."
Daxton also smiled again and said, "Anyway, if it really doesn’t work out in this country, we’ll go abroad. After all, there are places overseas where the acceptance of same-sex love is much higher."
"If there’s anything I can help with, just ask. You’re Alice’s friends, and of course, I want to offer my support," Dorian said.
Daxton wanted to say something, but Jacob spoke first, "Then thank you, Mr. Howards."
As a pregnant woman, Alice Conley was feeling a bit sleepy after dinner, so the four of them went their separate ways. Dorian paid the bill, though Daxton and Jacob also wanted to pay. Seeing Dorian’s insistence, they smiled, "Then next time we have a get-together, we’ll pick up the tab. Friends should take turns," Jacob said.
Dorian looked at the two and then said, "Alright."
When Dorian drove off with Alice, Daxton turned to his boyfriend and said, "By the way, during the meal, when Dorian Howards offered to help us, why didn’t you let me speak?"
"You were probably going to say we don’t need help or something," Jacob said.
"Yeah, our situation is not something ordinary people can help with," Daxton replied.
"What if he’s not an ordinary person?" Jacob asked.
"What do you mean?" Daxton was puzzled.
"You really don’t keep up with financial news, do you? Or even gossip," Jacob chuckled. "Dorian Howards is the CEO of Howards Group. Not long ago, there was gossip news about him announcing at a film press conference that he was marrying Alice."
Daxton’s eyes widened in surprise. He had been on a business trip abroad recently and hadn’t paid much attention to domestic news. Besides, he wasn’t interested in finance, so he didn’t pay attention to that. However, just because he wasn’t interested didn’t mean he didn’t know what Howards Group was.
