Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife-Chapter 652 - 678 Will We Ever Have a Reunion Day
"You’re just going to accompany me dressed like that to eat soup dumplings?" He glanced at her attire.
She zipped up the front of her down jacket entirely and said, "It’s late at night, who’s going to care what I’m wearing? Do you want to eat the dumplings or not?"
"Yes." His answer was straightforward. Rarely did this girl’s sympathy overflow, so how could he refuse? 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Even if she really pitied him like a stray cat or dog, he’d take it.
Guided by her phone’s map, the two of them arrived at an old soup dumpling shop in J City. Alice Conley directly ordered two bowls of dumplings.
"Are you hungry too?" Dorian Howards asked.
"Not really, but I’m afraid you’d get bored eating alone, so I’ll eat with you." She shrugged.
A moment later, two steaming bowls of soup dumplings were served. As Alice ate, she asked, "You were with Kyle Kinston today. Were you two celebrating the Lantern Festival together? Why didn’t you have dinner?"
"We weren’t celebrating the Lantern Festival together; I brought Mabel Quinn to Kyle." Dorian said.
Alice almost spit out her dumpling and managed to swallow it before saying, "You took Mabel to see Kyle Kinston?"
"Yeah."
"Are you trying to create an opportunity for them to reconcile?" That’s the only reason she could think of.
Dorian had no choice but to say, "Sort of."
Alice seriously scrutinized Dorian for a while before concluding, "I just realized, you’re even more of a busybody than I am."
Dorian’s face twitched. This girl couldn’t say a single nice thing!
In his life, it was the first time someone described him as a "busybody."
"But as for Kyle Kinston..." Alice began grinding her teeth, "He’s not even worth Mabel’s love. To break up without even giving a chance to explain, who does he think he is! If I were Mabel, I couldn’t resist giving him a beating to vent my anger!"
"Good thing you’re not, otherwise you’d probably end up in the hospital." Dorian said hauntingly, then added, "You say that now, but weren’t you the one who initiated our breakup back then?"
Alice was choked by the words. Who could blame her? She was the one who proposed the breakup back then!
"I... I was just..." She bit her lip, her face flushed red.
"Alright." Seeing her like this, he couldn’t bear it, "Alright, I never blamed you, did I? The only one I blamed was myself. Who told me to agree to the breakup so decisively back then."
For a moment, the air was a bit heavy as the two of them buried their heads in their dumplings.
After who knows how long, Dorian suddenly spoke up, "Alice, eating dumplings symbolizes reunion, right?"
"Hmm." She responded softly.
"So, do you think we might ever have a day of reunion?"
She suddenly looked up, staring at him blankly. Reunion—that seemed impossible between her and him. Yet at this moment, facing his gaze, she felt those words of denial were stuck, becoming so impossible to say out loud.

After finishing the dumplings, Alice originally intended to send Dorian home. But unexpectedly, Dorian drove and brought her to the lantern festival at the city center plaza.
"Since you already accompanied me to eat dumplings, you wouldn’t mind seeing a lantern festival with me too, right?" He said.
