In an instant, Evelyn felt a chill run down her spine, as if all her thoughts had been seen through by Kyle Kinston.

Mabel Quinn smiled. Her outfit today was indeed put together by Kyle Kinston, and she had to admit, Kyle had a good eye for these things. Even without makeup, she felt it matched perfectly—elegant and refined.

"Right, it’s not important, not important!" Alice Conley hurriedly said, while Evelyn seethed inwardly. Her intention in saying those things was to create a wedge between Kyle Kinston and Mabel Quinn, but it ended up sounding like Kyle was confessing his love for Mabel instead.

The more Evelyn watched the slight blush on Mabel Quinn’s cheeks, the more jealousy and resentment she felt inside.

At that moment, the waiter served the drinks and dishes they had ordered earlier. As the waiter left, Evelyn exchanged a glance with him, a look that only the two of them could understand.

"Alright, let’s just eat," Alice Conley said, trying to ease the tension in the air.

Evelyn smiled, "Let’s eat and drink first. Mabel, if I said anything wrong earlier, don’t mind it!" She then lifted her drink, making a toasting gesture towards Mabel Quinn.

Mabel Quinn could somewhat guess Evelyn’s little schemes, but being under the expectant gaze of Alice Conley sitting beside her, she also picked up her drink in front of her and said to Evelyn, "It’s okay."

Evelyn downed her drink in one gulp, watching as Mabel Quinn also took a sip of her drink, and only then did a slight smile play on her lips.
