E-Rank or SSS-Rank: I Awakened a Skill That Shouldn't Exist-Chapter 317: Long Way Ahead
Chapter 317
The bullwolves were right and wrong at the same time.
Han was not a god.
Not yet.
No matter how absurd his skills had become. No matter how terrifying his growth was. He still could not bring himself to believe he stood on the same level as the gods spoken of in myth. Beings who could create entire worlds and erase them on a whim.
Even Han did not possess that kind of power.
Maybe if he gained enough CP and EP... maybe then he could try something that insane.
He shook his head, scoffing at the thought.
Crazy.
If someone were to ask whether Han perfectly understood what the bullwolves were thinking as they stared at him with awe and despair, the answer would be simple.
Yes.
And no.
They would be wrong about many things. But not everything.
Han had crafted a near limitless number of skills using the massive amount of CP he obtained from the destruction of the Knull race several months ago. Some he gifted out. Most he kept.
One of those skills was Mind Recess.
It allowed him to read the surface thoughts of those around him. How deep he could peer depended entirely on how much energy he poured into it and how strong or stubborn the target’s mind was.
Normally, it required effort.
But the bullwolves?
Their minds were already in chaos. Fear, worship, confusion, despair. A tangled mess.
Reading them was easy.
The reason Han believed they were partly right was simple.
The world itself had acknowledged him further.
His title, Fire God, had grown heavier.
His fame had already exploded after the Tournament of Power. But the cursed destruction events pushed it even further. Although Lightrunner was officially recognized as the one who brought down the Cursed, the older hero never stopped saying it was the Fire God who did the most.
That alone earned Han immense respect among hero guilds worldwide.
And then came the rumors.
Whispers spreading like wildfire.
A god reborn.
How absurd.
Han knew someone who would absolutely not find this funny if he were still alive.
A member of the A6 Blazers.
The thought barely finished forming when his focus snapped.
A system notification appeared.
[5000 Bullwolves have been killed.]
[30,000 CP received.]
[90,000 EP received.]
Another followed instantly.
[Skill Flame Bullet has evolved into Ignition Shot.]
[Current Rank: Low S-Rank.]
A detailed description unfolded before him.
When an Ignition Shot is fired, the instant momentum, force, and heat are fully compressed and condensed, forming a massive energy surge stored within the bullet’s edge. Upon impact, ignition occurs. The host may choose when the ignition activates and how fatal it becomes.
Energy Cost: 400 per shot.
Additional energy may be infused to further amplify ignition force.
Han exhaled slowly.
More notifications flooded his vision, but most were routine. Guild members killing beasts. Clearing portals at extreme speed.
Ronan. Aiden. The elites moving like machines.
They were not doing this simply because they were heroes.
That was only part of it.
They were not the only heroes alive in the world. Not even close.
The real reason Han ordered his guild, especially the elites, to clear portals relentlessly was because of the quest he received the moment he recovered from his battle with the Knull Lord.
His gaze shifted.
[New Quest]
Clear all portals unleashed into the world due to your actions.
Take responsibility and clear more than 70 percent without external influence.
Quest Reward:
A new system feature will be unlocked.
A gift will be granted based on performance.
Han stared at the quest panel.
Then at the progression bar.
50 percent.
Only halfway done.
They had been at it for months.
And it was still only at fifty percent.
If Han had not pushed his cloning skill to its absolute limit and dragged his guild into this mess with him, he was certain he would never reach seventy percent. The time limit was one year. Only four months remained.
Still.
He would clear it.
He would get that new feature. And that gift.
And he was certain it would be worth the blood and exhaustion.
Another system notification flashed.
[Your guild member Ronan has slain the Triplet Terror.]
[Void Snow Bat slain.]
[Blood Eagle slain.]
[Darkened Inferno Hawk slain.]
[Bonus Reward: 10,000 EP gained.]
[Bonus Reward: 3,000 CP gained.]
A small smile crept onto Han’s face.
Ronan had just killed three S-rank monsters on the other side.
Three.
And the speed at which he did it made one thing clear.
Ronan had surpassed the rest.
He stood just behind Han now.
Only behind him.
He might even be able to contend with the top powers of the world already.
That guy keeps growing stronger. Too fast.
He is a freak.
If anyone heard Han’s thoughts, they would want to beat him to death.
After all, he was the lord of freaks himself.
Alright.
Let’s test that evolved skill.
Only a handful of bullwolves remained. They were clustered together, wary, desperate, trying to hide and protect one another from the tyrant standing before them.
Han did not care.
Beasts were not humans. He had no mercy to give.
He activated Ignition Shot.
Instantly, new bullets formed.
Still red. But far deeper. Far denser.
Only around ten appeared.
Yet the aura they carried was overwhelming. Vast. Crushing.
The millions of flame bullets he had fired before suddenly felt like child’s play.
The bullets launched.
The bullwolves ran. Tried to scatter. Tried to hide. Tried to dodge.
Anything.
It was meaningless.
The shots struck.
What followed was brutal.
Ignition.
A catastrophic explosion tore through the area, erasing everything in its path. The remaining bullwolves ceased to exist. The land itself was scoured clean.
Han raised an eyebrow as new notifications appeared.
So it was stronger than stated.
In its dormant state, Ignition Shot carried power equivalent to a low S-rank attack.
But when it ignited?
That was different.
High S-rank.
Maybe even close to peak S-rank attack power.
That was insane.
If Han was honest with himself, truly honest, there was something else beneath the awe.
Fear.
Not of enemies.
Of himself.
The stronger he became, the more skills he acquired, the less excitement he felt. That thrill that once burned in his chest was fading.
He still felt connections.
But some were weakening.
And he did not like that.
Maybe it was a side effect of his skills.
Maybe it was something worse.
He did not know.
What he did know was this.
He was strong. Extremely strong.
And if this continued...
He might one day stand unmatched in the entire universe.
[2,000 Bullwolves have been killed.]
[10,000 CP received.]
[40,000 EP received.]
Once, numbers like these would have made his heart race.
Now, he stared at them.
And disappointment flickered in his eyes.
He had already pushed past the superhuman limit.
Now he was a Mega Human.
And the amount of EP required to break his limit again and reach the next evolution was absurd. Unimaginable barely began to describe it.
For reference, Han brought up his stat window once more.
Name: Han Trystan

One hundred million.
Han’s gaze drifted to his current EP. The total he had clawed together over six brutal months.
Current EP: 3,500,000
A faint sigh escaped him.
There was still a very long road ahead.
And the system was never patient.
