E-Rank or SSS-Rank: I Awakened a Skill That Shouldn't Exist-Chapter 308: Still Weak
Chapter 308
"You have wasted your three chances. Now it is my turn," the Knull Lord said, staring straight at Han.
Han’s breath caught. A deep cold fear crawled through his spine.
He was wrong. Extremely wrong.
Even with the armor. Even with all the power and skills he had at his fingertips. He could not harm the Knull Lord. Not even a hairline crack. The defense wasn’t just insane. It was catastrophic.
Han jumped back, skidding several meters before he steadied himself. He locked his gaze on the Knull Lord again. The monster was still standing calmly, not moving, not rushing, not even acknowledging the three attacks he had taken as if they were nothing.
Aiden’s face turned pale.
"Wait... Han is in danger," he whispered. "He’s actually in danger."
They had all underestimated the Knull Lord. His power was far beyond what any of them had imagined. It wasn’t just overwhelming. It was absolute.
"We should help him," Clara said, eyes fixed on Han, trembling.
A calm voice answered.
"I don’t think any of you understand our situation."
They turned. Jay stood there, his voice steady, but the tension inside it was sharp.
"If anyone has even the slightest chance of helping us survive this, it is him," he said, looking at Han. "If we all rush in, we die in seconds. Only he has the chance to save us. And if he fails, we are all dead."
The realization hit them like ice water. Their blood ran cold.
Jay was right. None of them had any say in whether they lived or died anymore. Everything rested on Han.
Meanwhile, while they placed their hope on him... Han’s hope in himself was starting to break.
He had already attacked three times. And it wasn’t even close. He could not land a single meaningful blow on the Knull Lord. It felt like fighting an immortal being. Unbeatable. Untouchable.
But he didn’t have the luxury to think about any of that. He had to defend himself. The Knull Lord was about to attack, and Han could feel it. He knew that whatever was coming would be brutal enough to erase him.
He needed the best defense he could ever create.
The Knull Lord closed his fist.
Han reacted instantly.
A massive dome of fire erupted outward, covering him.
Another barrier of pure lightning crackled around his body.
Then a solid wall of earth rose up, forming a four-layer fortress around him.
But that wasn’t all.
"Skill activated. Behemoth Stand."
Han poured every ounce of energy, every shred of strength, every bit of essence he had into building that defense. He crafted the strongest barrier he had ever made in his life.
Then the Knull Lord moved.
A deafening boom tore the air as he shot forward, fist cocked to the side. He slammed it into Han’s wall of defenses.
The result was catastrophic.
The next thing Han knew was blackness.
His mind went dark for a moment. Then he collapsed to his knees.
A system notification flashed across his vision.
A fatal injury has been received.
minus 250 HP.
20 over 500 HP remains.
Han felt pain unlike anything he had ever endured. A raw, ripping agony filled his entire body. He could die at any second.
"What... is this..." Han choked, coughing a thick mouthful of blood.
Behemoth Stand had kept him from flying off his feet, but everything inside him felt shattered. The pain burned through him like fire in his bones.
The Knull Lord stood over him, calm, unmoved. His four red eyes burned with cold light.
"You are weak," he said.
Han’s eyes widened.
That word again.
That cursed word.
No matter how strong he became, no matter how high he climbed, no matter how much power he reached for... that damned word always came back.
Weak.
Why must he still be called weak?
"No... I’m not weak," Han said, dragging himself up with every shred of will left in his body. His legs shook. His breath trembled. But he stood, face to face with the Knull Lord.
"Don’t you call me weak," he growled, then threw a punch.
The Knull Lord caught it with a single hand. He lifted Han like a rag and slammed him into the ground with a force that rattled his bones.
Han’s vision blacked out for a heartbeat before it crawled back in flashes of red and white. Even then, he was too weak, too injured to put up any real fight. The Knull Lord was simply too powerful, too dominating, too far beyond him.
"Han." Ronan’s voice tore through the battlefield, raw and desperate. "I don’t care what happens after this. Use that power. The one you used back in Serenya. Stop holding back or we are all dead."
Ronan didn’t want Han to lose his life. But the truth was brutal. That berserk power was their only hope against the dark emissary. Only if Han entered that state would he stand a chance against the Knull Lord.
Han’s vision blurred as he tried and failed to push himself up. He knew exactly what Ronan meant. The berserker state. The power he promised never to use again because he almost killed his own friends last time he lost control.
But right now he would have used it. Gladly. Desperately. It was their last hope.
Unfortunately, the berserker skill answered to emotion. It only awakened when Han’s rage broke past the edge like it did back in Serenya. And right now his energy was drained, broken, shredded. His emotions weren’t anger. They were suffocating pain. Heavy, crushing exhaustion.
He tried to force it. Tried to get angry. Tried to push himself over the edge. But nothing happened.
No response.
No awakening.
No time.
The Knull Lord looked at Han with blazing red eyes. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
"If you have any final ace, use it now. Because after your death, I will erase the rest of your allies. Then I will descend on your world. Since the White Guardian dared to break the peace treaty, they will suffer my wrath."
"Just shut up already," Han said, voice cracked but defiant. "You talk like you are some righteous being. But monsters like you are all the same. Vile. Hungry. You want to wipe out the human race just for the sick entertainment of it."
His cold but fading blue eyes locked onto the Knull Lord.
The Knull Lord did something that made every hair on Han’s body rise.
All four red eyes flared at once.
A dark, melodic chuckle echoed from beneath the golden skull. Slow. Hungry. Alive.
"You are right about one thing," he said. "Seeing you humans makes my blood boil. I have done nothing for far too long, and I am starting to feel less alive. But your torture and death... yes. That will make me feel alive again."
The word feel stabbed through Han, igniting a raw heat in his chest. A spark of rage. Real rage.
The kind that could break him.
Or something deep within him.....
To be continued...
