After shifting back into human form, Luna managed to finally shake off the wendigo that kept viciously biting her, but all the wounds she sustained carried to her smaller size causing her a great deal of pain. She run away as fast as she could which was barely enough to give her some space before the wendigos started chasing after her.

Contrary to her aloof expression, Every cell on Luna's body had entered the fight or flight state. Her heartbeat raced, her veins were full of adrenaline and the flux energy she unconsciously channeled was reaching peak levels. In other words, her body was ready to either run away or to fight until the bitter end.

In her werewolf form, Luna was a war machine that could easily tear apart any cryptid or hunter of her level and even some of the next power tier. Her huge size and breath taking speed were unparalleled on the ascended rank, but her body was too bulky and even though she was born in her werewolf state she lacked any form o training in that form.

That's why she decided to run towards the howl that kept replying to her. Rather than abandoning Medusa, her thought process was that as soon as she reached Cassandra, she would be able to come back and somehow save her from her predicament. Nevertheless, she was very aware that she had difficulties understanding human emotions and only hoped that Medusa would see it that way once she came back.

The city she previously called home looked nothing like the one she knew. Some buildings were on fire, others were crumbling and abandoned vehicles filled the streets in an eternal traffic jam.

Already heaving for air, Luna stopped in in middle of a four corner crossing and scanned her surroundings trying to find the source of the howl she heard many times, but there were no people in sight and no sounds to go by.

In her current state she was unable to even howl, which got her to realize that she was completely and utterly lost. It was only time until the frenzied wendigos caught up to her and devoured her piece by piece until there was nothing left, not even her clothes given that she lost them after turning back into a human.

As if things weren't bad enough, an ominous feeling crawled on her skin making her feel like she was being watched from the distance by someone with bad intentions from the shadows. It was so intense she felt the fragility of being naked for the first time in her life, it was a mix of embarrassment and fear the kind she didn't experience not even when the rougarou almost took advantage of her.

A raspy hissing sound announce the arrival of the enemies who chased after her and Luna took a glance at their bodies as if by some miracle she would be able to identify their weakspots. Years of bedtime stories, lore and research flashed through her mind in rapid succession, though no answer came to mind.

Her body was paralyzed, her limbs were numb and no matter how much she breathed, she still found herself gasping for air.

At that moment, right as the hybrids were lining up to lunge at her, a familiar voice came from the skies.

"Smite." Sam spoke a single word in a calm voice as he descended from the heavens at the same speed a feather would fall. Following his voice, a light so powerful bursted out from his hands, erasing the hyrbids from existence.

Nothing, not even their ashes remained after the light hit them and a very confused Luna took a few steps back, covering her chest as best she could in a very uncharacteristic modest behavior.

"Umm... uhm..." She stuttered.

"Come on, Luna, we're friends. You didn't stutter in front of me back when we were in Easter island, why are you doing it now?" Said Sam in a calm and collected way.

"You saved me," She muttered bringing a smile to Sam, but it only lasted until she continued with her usual tone of voice, only Sam could tell she was upset. "but you're the one who put me in this position. Apologize."

"I'm sorry," He shrugged his shoulders. "where is Medusa? I'd like to see her."

"I bet that she would love to see you too." Luna replied and looked towards the direction where she left Medusa with what Sam thought was a semblance of a smile.

While Luna wasn't happy at all that it was Sam who saved her, she couldn't help but feel relieved that the hybrids weren't a problem anymore. Not just that, Sam was willing to follow her towards Medusa who despite being probably outmatched by Sam's hybrids, would still probably be able to petrify Sam if things went bad.

Things were looking bright for Luna, however, she couldn't shake the odd feeling on the way back to the apartment building. The only explanation that came to her mind was that she was creeped off by Sam looking at her naked body, but the feeling persisted even when she asked him to walk in front of her which got her to ask herself if Sam was now able to see behind his back.

Something like that would be extremely rare, but after witnessing his new found power she didn't doubt it was a possibility.

After all, the same Water warlock that gave Uriel boundless power and the confidence to face anything, should have an even greater effect on someone who was always superior to him in terms of physical prowess, energy signature and even when it came to traits. Sam was always superior to Uriel in everything but mental fortitude.

When they finally reached the apartment building Sam immediately rose in the sky using the power of his orichalcum earring, but Luna didn't forget to warn him. "Let Medusa know you're coming or she might hurt you on accident."

"She won't be able to harm me, even if she wanted to." He looked down at the tiny huntress with a cocky smile. It was an annoying smile, but Luna felt relieved he didn't make the strange face he always made whenever he used his trait to see naked women.

It meant that he didn't ogle her body with lust and perverted thoughts like he would have in the past, which go Luna to second guess herself and decide that, if at least he made that face things would be easier.

Because then, Sam would be the same Sam she always knew. Because convincing him would be easy, after all, Nika always got him to do what she wanted by just whispering in his ear.

A brimming light bursted out once more from the apartment building, only now it was golden in color instead of crimson, and Sam hovered down carrying a wounded but still conscious Medusa until he placed her right besides Luna.

"Thank you for coming back, Sam." Medusa said, her face covered in sweat and tears because of all the time she was forced to keep her eyes open. Each time she blinked, the wendigos would draw closer and she went way beyond her limit just to keep them at bay until someone came to rescue, though she never expected Sam himself to come.

"You guys shouldn't be here..." Sam said with a grim tone of voice, one that somehow fitted his new appearance.

"You won't even ask us what are we doing here? huh? We came for you, do you have any idea of how much trouble you caused? Do you even understand the consequences of your actions?" Medusa scolded in rapid fire while frowning her face to keep herself from opening her eyes by mistake, but Sam didn't seem fazed by any of it.

"I know the answers to all of those questions and if you let me speak, I may get you to see things my way." Sam replied, but Medusa was having none of it.

"What is there to see? Do you mean back then when you had that disgusting thing kidnap me, flail me and wear my skin just to mess with Uriel? Or perhaps you're talking of how you wrapped everyone around your finger to pretend you were trying to save the city, but then turned against the people!? Innocent people!"

"Where is he? I don't see him anywhere... and I see everything." Sam refused to address any of Medusa's arguments letting them know he was still worried about Uriel, though it remained unclear whether he was concerned for his safety or if he was scared of him.

In the meantime, all Luna couldn't keep herself from shuddering at both Sam's words and the amount of flux energy being channeled by both him and Medusa and all she could do was to take cover at a distance.

"After everything you've done, after all you put us through, you still refuse to give us a straight answer! I'm sorry Sam, but if I can't convince you to stop this nonsense, then..." Medusa said as she slowly opened her eyes, though what she saw didn't match her expectations in the least.

Instead of Sam's cold face turning to stone, he saw his bright golden eyes staring back at her.
