The nurse led Uriel towards the elevator at a slow steady pace as though she hesitated before taking each step. To her, taking Uriel upstairs was both necessary and painful, the same as taking an innocent lamb into the slaughterhouse. Her concern, though, only served to annoy Uriel who was in a hurry to get there as soon as possible.

"Can't you walk any faster? I'm bleeding out here." He grunted, pretending he was in great pain. The cut was deep, but it was nothing compared to the gruesome wounds he had in the past and he was already accustomed to pain.

"Why didn't you listen to me? Now there's nothing I can do to save you." The nurse mumbled to herself instead of replying, but Uriel was able to hear her.

"Calm down, I was exaggerating. I'm not actually bleeding out, I just wanted to get in here." He replied with a shrug and stopped pretending his hand hurt.

"You don't get it! This place is dangerous!"

"Actually, I get it. I know exactly what's going on here."

"I doubt it, if you did, you would have never set foot in here." The nurse let out.

"I do, the thing is, the girl they just took in... I know her and I need you to take me where they took her."

The nurse directed a dubious look at Uriel thinking he was nowhere near as strong to grant him that kind of confidence. She saw his ID which classified him as an ascended, though she had no means to know the information displayed was outdated and he was now a heavenly rank hunter.

"I know you mean well, but you really should start worrying less about other people and more about yourself. I tried to spare you from this, but now all I can do to help you is give you a warning. I know you may not believe this, but there are cryptids inside this hospital." The nurse finished in a low voice and waited for Uriel's reaction.

Everytime they forced her to bring in wounded hunters she did her best to keep them from meeting an untimely end, but they never believed her no matter how much she tried to warn them. But that didn't stop Sarah from trying over and over, in spite of risking her own safety.

Even if all she was able to do was to let them know their life was in danger, it was the least she could do to ease her consciousness after leading so many hunters to their doom.

However, what followed her warning wasn't the laughter she was accustomed to, but it also wasn't the screaming fit she expected from someone who did believe her. She didn't know what reaction she expected, but anything would have been better than Uriel's blank face.

"I told you I know already, now take me to the same floor she was taken to. I'm in a hurry."

"Wait, you do believe me? No, you knew from before! Why did you want to come in then?"

"I told you, there's this girl..." Uriel let out an annoyed sigh the nurse mistook for one of longing.

"You must truly love that girl if you're willing to go this far for her." The nurse said as she pressed the correct button. She knew his odds were slim, but on that moment she decided not to intervene if he was willing to risk his own life out of love.

Uriel didn't feel the need to correct the nurse, in fact, as soon as she pressed the button he stopped paying any attention to her. Something was troubling him since he got inside that building, but only after the elevator went up did he learn the reason behind the strange feeling.

"Why can't I feel any flux energy?" Uriel questioned himself out loud, but the nurse provided an unexpected answer.

"Maybe it's because you're an ascended and only heavenly rank hunters can sense flux energy. I'm not a hunter, but after treating so many..." The nurse began speaking but then fell silent.

"No, that's not it. It feels like something is encapsulating all the flux energy inside this building, it feels like a dungeon." Uriel shook his head.

"Then, it must be this hospital's structure. I overheard them saying it was built the same way the outer walls were and they used an expensive material for the wiring."

"Is it orichalcum!? Just how much did they spend on this place!?" His question remained unanswered, because as soon as the elevator doors opened Uriel stepped outside and focused again on his mystical sense.

Uriel was unable to sense any flux energy which should have been a sign that he was safe, there also weren't any signs of battle and the only smell was that of chemicals, but inexplicably he felt uneasy.

The floor seemed abandoned, which wasn't that surprising to Uriel since he already guessed the purpose of the hospital. The problem with that was that there were no potential witnesses that would force the hospital staff to keep appearances, meaning that most likely anyone he encountered other than the victims would be enemies.

With that in mind, Uriel decided to show his hand by preemptively summoning his revolver.

The nurse was taken aback when she saw a gun appear in his hand, but Uriel vanished in front of her eyes amidst blue sparks before she could so much as let out a gasp.

Since he couldn't sense any flux energy and there was no one he could ask, the only way he had to find the girl before it was too late was to explore the whole floor as fast as he could. There was no need for stealth, given that the same phenomenon that kept him from sensing anything probably affected any nearby cryptids too.

Besides, Uriel suspected the whole floor was designed as a trap for hunters, which made any attempt at stealth not only difficult but also pointless.

Hunters he could deal with, but not even saving te girl's life was worth facing a wendigo without a proper plan.

"Not here, not here, not here..." Uriel muttered as he ran past the many offices and examination rooms. His Dash skill allowed him to cover most of the floor within seconds, but just as he was about to finish his tour he saw the same nurse that took the girl coming out of a room.

"You shouldn't be here." The nurse said in what was supposed to be a scolding tone, but she could barely keep her excitement from showing.

"What a coincidence, you shouldn't be here either." Uriel replied unconcerned, but he didn't miss the blood stains on the nurse's coat or the fact that she wasn't surprised by his speed.

"Oh! Sarah, you're in big trouble now, you're not supposed to spoil the surprise." The nurse said in a melodic voice, a very creepy and loud voice that echoed in the halls seemingly becoming stronger instead of fading away.

It wasn't the first time Uriel experienced such a phenomenon and it indicated he was dealing with one of the most dangerous cryptid species known to men, though on this particular occasion it brought him great relief to know the nurse was actually a skinwalker.

"Look, I don't want to waste my time with you, just take me to the girl and I'll make it quick." Uriel said, knowing full well that reasoning with skinwalkers was useless, though he really wanted to grab the girl and be on his way as fast as possible.

"Quick? Don't make me laugh, someone like you can't even..." The cryptid's mocking tone disappeared as soon as it caught a glimpse of a small shimmering object on Uriel's hand. It wasn't the revolver, though, what caused that reaction but a much smaller and seemingly harmless object.

"I can and I will if I dont like the next words that come out from your filthy skinwalker mouth." Uriel glared at the cryptid, there was no need for him to even channel flux energy to convey the message. All he needed to coerce the cryptid into submission was to show the trite in his hand and reveal that he knew its true nature.

Although trites were made of electrum instead of pure silver, there was enough silver in it to kill the skinwalker and it was much cheaper than buying something from the souvenir shop.

"I'll take you there, but keep that thing away from me." The cryptid replied. It took but a glance for the cryptid to know it was in trouble, but when Uriel mentioned the word 'skinwalker' the creature lost all hope and decided to comply.

Contrary to beast and monster rank cryptids, entity level cryptids were sentient and self aware.

Although their intelligence was nowhere near to a horror level cryptid's extent it was enough to put self preservation above feeding instinct and after witnessing Uriel's moving speed and learning that he knew about its weakness, the skinwalkers decided it was safer to just do as the hunter asked and wait until he lowered his guard.
