Dungeon Overlord: Monster Girl Harem!-Chapter 71: The Chimera’s Plot
Blood and venom bubbled from Leon's arm—his eyes narrowed with veins bulging from his forehead to show his struggle. The fangs pierced his forearm, which created two gaping holes visible for Sylvie's blue eyes to see.
'Leonhardt?'
'That's it! Stop resisting me and become softer, this sacrifice is worth winning you over.'
"Leo?!"
Asuka's voice rumbled from behind as the squeak of another spider vanished.
However, she noticed his face and then huffed, flicking the blood from her axe as she turned away.
"He'll be fine, Erina, don't look so distressed."
"R-Really? But his arm is bleeding so much!"
'Why did he need to hurt himself like this just to show off to other women?'
Asuka complained in her mind while checking the surroundings, knowing more of them lingered, waiting for another chance.
'He's bleeding, and it's all my fault.'
Sylvie's hands trembled, almost dropping her staff as a sudden sharp sensation spread through her stomach—anger, regret and flashbacks of her pathetic and weak self.
"The spirit of frost, who governs the icy wastes—obliterate those who stand in my path!"
A glint of light shone from her azure eyes, causing Leonhardt's lips to twitch, showing a devilish grin before returning to his pained expression.
"Frost Barrage!"
Sylvie pointed her left hand at the two spiders. A torrent of ice wrapped around her body like a beautiful, ice-blue tornado before forming sharp, jagged daggers.
"Rend!"
Da-Da-Da-Da-Da!
The sharp blades cut through the air mercilessly, tearing through the spiders, cutting their fangs at the base, severing the venom glands before impaling their brains.
"Shaa!"
"Skkkksksk!"
'I did it… I did it!'
Although she could cast basic magic, she had failed the assessment to advance to medium-grade spells in the past because of the trauma she faced.
Sylvie struggled to control her average mana enough to cast them.
'Doesn't she have the cutest little smile?' Leonhardt narrowed his eyes, grabbing his arm, almost crushing the muscles as the purple poison pumped through his veins.
He wouldn't die, and his immunity wasn't a lie either, but with so much venom poured directly into his blood, the painful rejection from his Djinn, Dragon and Fae blood caused something akin to an allergic reaction.
"Leon!" Sylvie said with a panicked expression.
Her hand grasped the small bottle of antivenom.
She popped the cork and immediately tried to pour the medicine into his lips.
'Hurry, he said death weaver venom is deadly, but there's so much, his arm is turning purple!'
Leon couldn't believe his luck upon seeing her so eager to save him—these spiders could have easily been burned by the Azure flame protecting her.
He slowly swallowed the sticky potion while reaching out towards Sylvie—his hand wrapped around her small buttocks as his fingers sank into her flesh.
"Hnng…"
'Plump in all the right ways~ a masterpiece of balance.'
Although he never expected his plan to be this effective.
'I wanted to have her stop being annoying, but this… this is unexpected.'

This revelation didn't mean he would stop—rather, it made him take it further, biting his teeth together and twisting his face to show more agony than before.
[What are you doing? Idiot…]
'I am trying to get trick the little elf.'
[To sleep with her?]
'No.'
[Hmph]
Leonhardt's arm bubbled before his natural regeneration kicked in. The bloody holes sealed rapidly, shocking Sylvie. As the swollen purple veins calmed down after shrinking to a normal size, they stopped throbbing, causing a slight ache in his arms.
'The wounds vanished, does this mean he's alright?'
'Leo, why did you do something so stupid!' Asuka bit her lower lip while keeping her promise to guard Erina, the irritation growing in her stomach as if she swallowed burning coal.
"I'm fine now Sylvie, but more importantly, your magic was amazing." Leon forced himself to speak in a low, drawn-out voice to prolong her concern.
"Are you sure, the amount of venom that filled you wasn't normal!"
"I agree, why not let me cast my antivenom magic?"
Leonhardt turned to face Erina and understood just how kind and delicate the priestess could be. He teased her the most, and yet she always came to his aid and helped him.
"Save your divine power, Erina. I am okay."
[So dramatic... these girls would be in your bed within the night if you wanted them to be!]
'Well, thanks for the compliment Ifrit... can I get you in my bed by tonight too?'
A moment of silence remained as he checked the gains from the dungeon system.
Leonhardt noticed passive increases, which meant Zafira and his goblins must have been fighting somewhere in this vast basin. He didn't understand why a monster would feel this way, but his loneliness faded just knowing this.
"We need to continue, the damn spiders are gathering."
Asuka's and Sylvie's faces twisted, showing a sense of disbelief and worry at his calm response after the two spiders chomped on his arm and pumped him full of venom.
"Ah..."
"Leo?!"
"Ugh... sorry, it's because my legs are a little weak, don't worry."
Erina's eyes shimmered as she watched Leonhardt stumble as he tried to move away from Sylvie, but she lowered her gaze to the hand visibly squeezing her friend's ass.
'Eh? His hand is practically crushing Sylvie's butt yet she doesn't complain?'
She then flicked her gaze toward Sylvie, who looked strange... bright red cheeks, half-closed eyes and biting her bottom lip with an unfamiliar yet pleasant look.
'Slyvie?'
"Erina, let's go."
Asuka called out to Erina as she wanted to keep up with Leonhardt this time.
'Phew... why did you go silent, Ifrit?' Leon wondered while he closed the dungeon screen and focused on the dungeon.
[It's Nothing...]
'Don't lie, you were just angry you can't join me in bed, right? Haha.'
Ifrit's tone allowed Leonhardt to relax even in the most dangerous situations. Hearing her cute voice tremble after he teased her removed all his worries.
[Tsk, just you wait!]
'For you, I'll wait forever.'
[Ack!]
Leon didn't need to earn more affection or trust from Sylvie.
He knew he couldn't rush to gain those feelings and would take it one step at a time.
Leonhardt and his group traversed the dark cavern and eventually came to another arched opening, which led into a small spherical chamber with a tall roof roughly fifteen feet in the air.
"Wait!"
"Leon, what's wrong?"
"Be on guard, Eri," Asuka said as she lifted her axe, her body starting to glow with a dull blue aura.
"Sylvie, can you tell me what spells you've learned?" Leonhardt asked, stepping back and focusing on the dark room.
'Fifteen spiders, and one larger male.'
'Ah~ he wants to know more about me?'
Sylvie remained in a confused state of mind since the bite, her chest only just calming down after pounding at the sight of Leon's beautiful face.
'Although I would love to swing my sword around, this battle I should open with magic.'
Leonhardt's eight magical eyes observed the movements of the hidden weavers.
Their bodies clung to the rocks above while constantly strengthening the webbing that formed an intricate and deadly zone of traps in the centre of the room.
"I can only use a few spells, I'm sorry."
He turned to her and smiled gently. "Don't apologise, if you need to learn more I can help you."
"R-Really?"
"Yeah, tell me the spells you have and I will make sure to teach you before we part ways."
"Eh? Part ways?"
'Why is Sylvie being so strange... she hates men!'
'Does Leon want to seduce Sylvie and make her into a monster too?'
The minds of Asuka and Erina remained filled with concern and worry for their best friend, while Leonhardt kept the mana flowing in his fingertips by using a technique called finger waving or finger waves.
This movement entailed unfolding his index finger first, followed by the middle finger, ring finger and finally his pinky, before folding them in reverse order.
This exercise kept the mana constantly flowing from one finger to the next while he supplied a small amount, preparing to cast his next spell.
"Phew..."
"I can use Ice wall... Water bolt... and frost barrage."
Sylvie seemed embarrassed about this, but even Leonhardt knew that the average mage took years to learn new spells—but having taken could reduce the time greatly. However, Sylvie was still young in terms of age, even for an elf.
'Ah... he's looking at me with such a serious gaze, does he think I am useless?'
Leonhardt couldn't understand her feelings, but noticing Sylvie's bad habit of biting her lower lip when stressed or upset, he couldn't help but reach out and stroke the top of her head, his thumbs brushing against her long, silky ears.
"Good, you've worked really hard."
"Now then, let me show you how to improve yourself... grab my hand." Leon held out his left hand, which Sylvie grasped without hesitation.
He crept forward, pulling her beside him. She matched his footsteps and almost tripped, distracted by his fingers' warmth.
"Can you feel the flow of magic in my hands?"
Asuka and Erina watched quietly as the dragonoid's tail slammed into the ground, causing a puff of dirt, smoke, and blue flames to crackle.
"I can... It's hot and filled with fire. My hand feels so hot, as if I might melt.
"Good, now watch and focus on that Mana, Copy how I cast this next spell and I will reward you."
"Nn!"
