Drunk on Marriage, Billionaire's Overindulgent Love-Chapter 846 - 325: [Brokenhearted Fairy Tale] The Whale Who Became an Island (Part 6)_4
The person who called Lu Huai’an over was Gu Shaozhi, but he was the quietest in the room.
Elegantly spreading out the cards in front of him, the rich kid had already lost to the point of lamenting, "Oh, a self-draw! Mr. Gu is starting to get lucky."
Another man reluctantly chimed in, "Maybe Mr. Lu’s luck was taken away by Lin Meiren."
Gu Shaozhi glanced at Lu Huai’an beside him, slowly shaking the glass in his hand. The dark red liquid clung to the glass wall with his motion, then slowly slid down.
He exuded a kind of rogue elegance, with a curve at the corner of his lips, "Not going to placate?"
Lu Huai’an ignored his sarcastic remark, flicked open the sleeve of his shirt with slender fingers, and checked the time.
His voice was calm, "I’ll stay ten more minutes; I have something to do at home."
Gu Shaozhi laughed meaningfully a couple of times and didn’t continue.
The phone vibrated, and seeing the caller ID on the screen, he stood up, patted his friend’s shoulder, "I’m going out to take a call, play a round for me, I’ll account for the losses."

Lin Chu left the private room and headed to the restroom.
But found a sign outside the restroom saying ’Under Repair’, so she went downstairs.
Originally thinking that washing her face would make her feel better, the cotton-like lump in her chest felt soaked, even more suffocating.
She thought about going outside for some fresh air.
Lin Zongjun never spoke to her about company matters, and she hadn’t yet entered society. Even though she lived in upper society, she was still a student.
Most of her interactions were with schoolmates.
So she didn’t really understand business matters.
If Chi Su wasn’t being mysterious, it meant the Lin Family was having issues, and since even a minor celebrity could probe this info, Lu Huai’an surely wouldn’t be in the dark.
No wonder, during the days she stayed at the Lin home, Dad spent so much time in the study at night.
Lin Chu absentmindedly left the restroom and bumped into a meat wall in the corridor; the pungent smell of alcohol and tobacco made her instinctively step back two steps, pretty brows furrowing.
It was Gao Jian, who had disappeared for most of the year.
With one hand in his pocket, half-leaning against the wall, his shameless gaze scanned Lin Chu from head to toe, rubbing his thumb against his chin, "Wow, how’s Lin Meiren alone today? Where’s your old flame Jiang Muzhou?"
Lin Chu’s face instantly cooled down, "Keep your mouth clean."
Ever since she and Jiang Muzhou made a futile attempt at Jin Jue a year ago, she hadn’t seen this trash Gao Jian again.
It was like a curse, meeting him at the most unexpected time.
The drunken Gao Jian shrugged indifferently, obviously relying on his family’s power and prestige, looking down on both the Lin and Lu families.
"Pretty girls are even prettier when angry," Gao Jian laughed loudly, his gaze becoming more vulgar.
He stood up straight, stepped in front of Lin Chu, and his peripheral vision glanced at her chest, "Being married really is different, looks tastier than before, chest is bigger too, with someone as fiery and passionate as you, your sexual urge must be strong, can someone as frigid as Lu Huai’an satisfy you? How about..."
"Smack!"
The loud sound of a slap echoed in the corridor.
Lin Chu clapped her hand, as if shaking off some dirty thing, her delicate brows and eyes void of any warmth.
"I didn’t settle accounts with you a year ago, did you forget your surname?"
Gao Jian, such a rich kid, was always put on a pedestal wherever he went, never had he been slapped by a woman.
Angry as he was, it ironically piqued some sort of interest in him.
"A year ago?" Squinting his eyes and recalling carefully, "You mean your good sister Ji Wanxia? I just touched her a couple of times, but she’s not as fiery as you, nor as... seductive."
Lin Chu’s temper was instantly provoked.
Before that trash’s hand touched her cheek, she mercilessly swung her hand and slapped him a second time.
"Gao Jian, I’m warning you..."
"Repeat what you just said."
Lin Chu’s words were just interrupted by a cold and indifferent voice.
This voice was not unfamiliar to Lin Chu.
Ji Huan emerged from the men’s restroom dressed in black; his deeply contoured features lacked much emotion, with a pair of silent hawk eyes exuding dark hues.
The sound of leather shoes treading on the floor with consistent frequency, heavy and powerful, conveyed a dangerous aura.
Lin Chu saw his severe and murderous aura and knew he had heard what Gao Jian had just said.
When the incident occurred, Ji Wanxia hadn’t told him, meaning she didn’t want him to know.
"Brother Ji Huan."
Lin Chu called softly, but Ji Huan’s gaze wasn’t on her, pulling her behind him in a protective manner.
His deep black eyes remained calm and ripple-less, like the last calm before a storm, his gaze on Gao Jian was cold and indifferent, "Didn’t catch that, repeat it."
A drunken Gao Jian stood before him, completely outclassed.
He smirked roguishly, "This must be Mr. Ji? I think your sister is quite pretty, would you consider an alliance?"
Ji Huan did not waste more time on Gao Jian, turning instead to Lin Chu.
His voice remained indifferent as usual, "Xiao Chu, I don’t want to ask a second time."
Although Ji Huan made no extra movements, just ten words already exerted an invisible pressure, causing Lin Chu to not dare conceal any longer.
"One evening last year, Wanwan said she’d stay in the dorm; it was that night when you mentioned the driver couldn’t find her, nor reach her, and even called me. Gao Jian bullied Wanwan, but fortunately, someone passed by..."
Lin Chu stopped speaking because she heard the crackling of Ji Huan’s joints.
Ji Huan took off his suit jacket, handing it along with his watch to Lin Chu, loosened his tie, then unfastened the buttons of his shirt cuffs, rolling them up to his elbows.
Each motion was elegant and composed.
"Wait outside, before I come out, do not come in."
Lin Chu hadn’t comprehended Ji Huan’s words yet when the once casual Gao Jian leaning against the wall was twisted by the arm and yanked into the men’s restroom.
The door closed, yet Lin Chu could still faintly hear the man’s painful groans.
She knew Ji Huan had served in the military, his physical prowess surpassing average people, and similarly understood how much Ji Huan cherished his sister; upon learning about Gao Jian’s attempted assault on Ji Wanxia over a year later, knowing Ji Huan’s temperament, he would surely not let Gao Jian off easily.
Will it turn into a fatality...
Gao Jian’s arrogance in An City came from his family’s solid background and influence.
If...
Lin Chu anxiously paced back and forth until she noticed Gu Shaozhi walking towards her.
"Huai’an is still upstairs, who are you waiting for?"
