Drama Queen Reborn as a Top Student!-Chapter 748: What does the taste of being betrayed feel like_2
Shen You’an raised an eyebrow. The dog’s name was quite interesting.
At that moment, the phone placed on the table nearby rang. The old man wiped his hands clean, walked over to answer the call, and lit a cigarette in the process.
"Does he even see me as his father-in-law? Tell him to get lost. Don’t let me ever see him again."
The old man angrily hung up the phone.
Still not satisfied, he kicked over the stool by his feet.
Just then, a stunningly beautiful woman emerged from the villa—her long, wavy hair cascading down, crimson lips ablaze, exuding both sensuality and charm.
In her hands was a bottle of red wine and two tall wine glasses. She tread elegantly on high heels and approached leisurely, saying, "Sir, who has upset you this time?"
The old man’s mood lightened slightly at the sight of the woman. He wrapped an arm around her shoulder and kissed her lips briefly before pulling away.
"Let’s not talk about unpleasant things."
The two gently clinked their glasses, sharing a knowing smile. The atmosphere was relaxed yet tinged with intimacy.
Just as the woman was about to say something, her gaze suddenly sharpened. She spun around, hurling the wine glass in her hand.
At the same time, her other hand lifted her skirt swiftly, reaching for the holster strapped to her inner thigh—a handgun hidden there.
She quickly shielded the old man behind her, aiming the gun forward. Her sultry face transformed into one of icy determination.
Two black-clad bodyguards nearby also reacted swiftly, rushing forward to protect the old man while scanning their surroundings cautiously, guns in hand.
The woman commanded coldly, "Come out."
The shadows under the trees flickered, while the base of the wall remained empty and untraceable.
Kuli, recovering from the initial tension, chuckled and said, "Daisy, aren’t you overreacting? This villa has the strictest security and patrolling guards outside. No one could sneak in without alarming them."
His tone brimming with confidence.
But the woman did not ease her vigilance. "Sir, please trust my judgment."
Kuli pushed aside the two bodyguards obstructing his view and saw the hunting dog lying on the ground, chewing on a bone.
"Hayes...," he began to approach, but then the situation abruptly changed.
The hands of the two black-clad bodyguards holding their guns were suddenly struck by something invisible. Wincing in pain, their wrists went numb, and their guns fell to the ground.
And then their knees buckled, dropping them to the floor.
Daisy’s face tightened as she aimed in one direction and shouted, "Come ou—ah...!"
Before she could finish her sentence, a cry of agony escaped her throat as she saw a pebble strike her wrist. Numbness surged instantly, forcing her to drop the gun.
Her eyes were filled with shock and doubt, yet her reactions were quick as she reached to grab the falling gun mid-air with her other hand. But another pebble struck her left wrist precisely.
The pebble shattered on the ground, splitting in two, revealing its emerald green hue.
It was one of the polished jade stones from the flowerpots—specially imported from overseas.
But now was no time for such thoughts. She raised her head, looking toward Kuli, and said urgently, "Sir, run!"
As Kuli turned, he saw someone stepping out from the corner of the wall.
It was a young woman dressed in understated yet mysterious black attire—a slim and elegant figure, reminiscent of a runway model, making the simplest outfit appear sophisticated.
She wore a black baseball cap pulled low, masking her facial features, but the outline of her face was striking at first glance.
Sauntering forward, the woman casually tossed a jade pebble in her hand, as if leisurely strolling through her backyard.
Kuli and Daisy’s expressions grew dark simultaneously. Daisy gritted her teeth and asked, "Who the hell are you?"
Kuli’s face turned unsightly. Just moments ago, he’d boasted that no one could sneak in unnoticed, but reality had swiftly proven him wrong.
The woman slowly raised her head, and both Daisy and Kuli froze in place.
It was an unfamiliar face of a different ethnicity, but it was breathtakingly beautiful—striking enough to leave anyone stunned.
Yet the face was alarmingly youthful, so youthful that it instinctively invited underestimation.
But Daisy, having felt the power of those jade pebbles firsthand, dared not underestimate her in the slightest. That visible youthfulness only shrouded her in an aura of enigmatic danger, making it impossible to act rashly.
The woman wore glasses perched atop her nose, their lenses reflecting sunlight, concealing her eyes.
But Kuli could feel her gaze land on him, and in that instant, every hair on his body seemed to stand on end.
"I warn you, don’t act recklessly. My men are outside, and at my shout, they’ll storm in here. You won’t escape even if you grow wings."
Kuli barked, backing away inch by inch.
The hunting dog nearby finished chewing its bone and rose to its paws, licking its lips, revealing a set of razor-sharp fangs.
Kuli stealthily signaled the dog behind his back, commanding it to attack the black-clad woman.
Hayes bared its teeth and began advancing steadily toward the woman, its imposing gait full of menace.
Kuli exhaled in relief. Hayes had undergone extensive professional training, its aggression formidable. Even two trained adults were no match for it. That woman was so frail-looking, her build entirely lacking strength—Hayes could snap her head off with a single bite.
Meanwhile, Daisy slipped closer to Kuli’s side, gradually regaining sensation in her hands. Her eyes stayed riveted on the black-clad woman, searching for an opening to strike a fatal blow.
The woman, however, showed no sign of panic as the hunting dog approached. Instead, she crouched down slightly, beckoning to it with a smile.
Kuli sneered coldly. How foolish. Hayes only recognized him as its master. Just recently, a clueless bodyguard got too close to Hayes and had a hand bitten clean off—the scene had been gruesome. He waited for Hayes to tear that woman’s hand apart.
Such a pity for a lovely face, though.
What happened next nearly made his eyes pop out of their sockets.
Hayes stopped in front of the woman and withdrew its fangs, gently pressing its head into her palm, nuzzling affectionately. It was even more docile than with Kuli himself.
Infuriated, Kuli roared, "Hayes! What are you doing?"
The woman stroked the hunting dog’s head with a smile. "Animals have remarkable instincts, especially big hunting dogs like this. They know better than anyone who is kind and who is wicked."
Kuli shouted in anger, "Hayes, get up!"
Daisy narrowed her eyes. There was something profoundly unsettling about the woman—her gut told her danger was imminent.
The woman patted the hunting dog’s head softly, then pointed toward Kuli, who wore an expression of rage, and made a hand signal.
The hunting dog turned around, baring its fangs again, its eyes now gleaming with the predatory calm of a hunter, exuding ferocity.
But this time, its fangs were aimed at its own master.
Kuli understood the woman’s signal—it was an order to attack.
Seeing Hayes’s predatory gaze fixed on him, Kuli felt a chill crawl up his spine and instinctively stepped back.
"No...!"
Shen You’an straightened up slowly, crossing his arms, watching the unfolding scene with keen interest.
"Why don’t you taste what betrayal feels like for once?"
