Drama Queen Reborn as a Top Student!-Chapter 705 - 301 Direct Confrontation_2
Who would have thought it was just a blond-haired teenager.
The crowd was buzzing, speculating about the identity of this blond-haired boy.
"Did you see the young man in the suit beside him? That’s Lan Xiping from Tianlu Bank. I saw him once from afar at the Siland banking conference—there’s no way I’d mistake him."
"Is that really Chairman Lan? He seems to defer to that blond-haired boy. What exactly is the boy’s identity?"
Someone who had attended the Tianbao Pavilion auction stepped forward and said, "Have you heard of the Mei Fei Family?"
The crowd exchanged puzzled glances. "Of course we have, but what does that have to do with the boy...?"
"He’s the young master Amos of the Mei Fei Family. Just recently, during the Tianbao Pavilion auction, he threw down 20 billion to snatch the Purple Ganoderma from the Wei family. Shortly afterward, he acquired the leading pharmaceutical factory under Tianbao Group. Rumor has it he also owns shares in Tianlu Bank. You really haven’t been keeping up with international affairs—he’s widely known as a prodigy in investment circles. By estimates, his current wealth has already surpassed the total assets of the Mei Fei Family. He’s active in Hua Country now, spreading his influence across the investment world."
The crowd collectively sucked in breaths of disbelief.
Yuan Tingfang, Xue Lan, and Xiao Qing watched as the golden-haired boy walked past them, hearing the awe and praise for him ringing in their ears. It felt like no words could truly capture how remarkable he was.
Staring at the boy’s back as he ascended the staircase, all three remained frozen in disbelief.
Xue Lan muttered, "He doesn’t even look older than me. Can what they’re saying really be true? It feels so unreal—are they exaggerating it?"
Xiao Qing shook her head. "No, it’s all true. You have to believe there really are prodigies in this world."
Yuan Tingfang sighed softly. "A figure so dazzling and unreachable—we’re lucky just to get a glimpse of them from afar in this lifetime."
Xue Lan and Xiao Qing nodded in tacit agreement.
Then Xue Lan suddenly thought of something and spoke with a hint of jealousy, "Leng Xingshuang is so lucky—to not only be saved by Young Master Amos but even embraced by him."
The tone unmistakably carried envy.
Leng Shan ascended to the fifth floor. His icy gaze swept across the room, briefly pausing on Yu Ruohuan’s face before landing on Jing Zhan.
"Miss Jing, I need an explanation."
Jing Zhan’s face showed a mix of panic and guilt, her eyes reddened as she spoke pitifully, "Grandpa Leng, it’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have quarreled with Miss Leng. Who knew she’d suddenly lose control and start fighting with me? I should’ve just stayed still and let her vent—it wouldn’t have come to this if I hadn’t resisted, causing her to accidentally fall from the building."
"What a convenient ’accidental fall,’" Leng Shan sneered.
"Today’s incident won’t end here. Someone call the police. Let them investigate thoroughly—every detail must be clarified."
Leng Shan clearly intended to tear all pretenses apart and pursue the matter to the end.
Jing Zhan frowned, still maintaining her pitiful demeanor as she said, "Grandpa Leng, I know you don’t trust me, but you can ask anyone present here. Everyone saw what happened just now—Miss Leng’s fall was an accident, and they all know it."
Jing Zhan turned to Wen Wan, who was closest to her. "Miss Wen, you saw it, didn’t you? Miss Leng accidentally fell from the building, right?"
Wen Wan coughed lightly, glanced at Yu Ruohuan, and nodded. "Yes."
Jing Zhan then looked at Wen Yu. "Mr. Wen?"
Wen Yu didn’t hesitate. "We all saw it ourselves—it was Leng Xingshuang who fell during her tussle with Jing Zhan. It has nothing to do with Jing Zhan anyway. Besides, isn’t Leng Xingshuang completely fine? Why blow this out of proportion?"
Leng Shan sneered, thinking to himself how shamelessly the Yu family favored their own lackeys. Even at their young age, their ability to lie with a straight face was already masterful.
He turned to Leng Yunyang.
Leng Yunyang shrugged, but his gaze shifted past Leng Shan, landing on the golden-haired Amos behind him. A subtle glint of contemplation flickered deep in his eyes.
Leng Xuexi sensed the escalating tension and dared not speak recklessly.
She tugged at Leng Yunyang’s arm and whispered under her breath, "Brother, I saw it with my own eyes—it was Jing Zhan who tricked and pushed Miss Leng off the fifth floor."
Although Leng Xingshuang was arrogant and overbearing, which Leng Xuexi found annoying, she was still just a child, far from deserving to lose her life.
Leng Yunyang gently squeezed her hand and shook his head.
Leng Xuexi hesitated for a moment before stepping forward. "Grandpa Leng, I can testify—it was her who pushed Miss Leng off the fifth floor with her own hands."
Jing Zhan abruptly turned to glare at Leng Xuexi. "Leng Xuexi, you’d better think carefully before you speak."
The warning in her tone was unmistakable.
Leng Yunyang shielded Leng Xuexi behind him, a faint smirk on his lips. "Are you threatening my sister now?"
Jing Zhan narrowed her eyes. "Young Master Leng, you should teach your sister to know when to keep her mouth shut, or else..."
"Xuexi is a good girl," Leng Shan said with gratification. As an old man, he didn’t want to argue with these young women—it would only make him seem as though he was bullying juniors with his age and status. Better to wait for the police and let the facts speak.
Gu Bichen chose this moment to interject. "Jing Zhan, if you wish to keep your actions concealed, you’d better not act in the first place."
Jing Zhan turned to him. "Young Master Gu, did you personally see me push Miss Leng off the building?"
Gu Bichen pressed his lips together and stayed silent.
Though he hadn’t witnessed it firsthand, his intuition told him Jing Zhan had orchestrated the incident. However, the law demanded direct observations to serve as evidence, and he hadn’t seen it. His upbringing led him to exercise self-restraint and remain quiet in such situations.
Jing Zhan misinterpreted Gu Bichen’s silence, assuming he was pragmatic and unwilling to offend the powerful Yu family.
She turned back to Leng Shan. "Grandpa Leng, I didn’t want things to escalate to this point. If I could do it over, I definitely wouldn’t have revealed Miss Leng’s background. I thought she already knew—but who would’ve predicted..."
Jing Zhan feigned a sigh.
Leng Shan roared, "Shut your mouth!"
Jing Zhan, still young, was momentarily stunned by Leng Shan’s imposing aura.
Yu Ruohuan patted Jing Zhan’s shoulder. Jing Zhan snapped out of her daze, biting her lip and speaking in a teary voice, "Did I say something wrong? Grandpa Leng, in front of Young Master Leng, why don’t you tell us all—was Young Master Leng born to Jiang Lanwei? And is Leng Xingshuang a bastard daughter born of a dancer?"
Leng Shan’s piercing gaze shifted to Yu Ruohuan behind Jing Zhan. From the start, Yu Ruohuan had remained seated by the window, drinking tea, as though detached from the drama unfolding around her.
But Leng Shan knew well—this whole debacle had been orchestrated by Yu Ruohuan.
The Yu family had gone too far, trampling others with impunity for far too long. Now they dared to use his granddaughter’s life in their schemes. Leng Shan couldn’t tolerate it.
"This is a family matter of the Lengs—it has nothing to do with any of you. Why push your luck with your incessant demands?"
Jing Zhan sighed. "I’m just standing up for Young Master Leng. Imagine being humiliated by a bastard born of a dancer. Even Lady Leng in heaven wouldn’t be able to rest in peace over this."
Leng Yunyang’s charming eyes grew ice-cold in an instant.
Suddenly, applause broke out.
The faces in the room turned toward the sound.
The golden-haired boy stepped out from behind Leng Shan. His strikingly radiant hair was complemented by a roguish grin on an impeccably handsome face.
"Well said. A bastard born of a dancer truly doesn’t deserve respect. So what about one born of an actress? Wouldn’t that be even more disgraceful? Let’s not show favoritism, shall we—like the one right behind you."
The boy’s fair, slender finger pointed directly past Jing Zhan.
Sitting silently behind her was Yu Ruohuan, seemingly uninvolved.
His words landed like a thunderbolt, ripping away every shred of pretense and leaving an unsettling shock in their wake.
Yu Ruohuan’s head snapped up, her eyes blazing with hostility, sharp as countless silver needles aimed at the blond-haired boy. Rage surged in her—if looks could kill, she’d have shredded him to pieces.
The boy maintained his mischievous grin, staring defiantly into Yu Ruohuan’s eyes. His demeanor exuded a rebellious and arrogant charm, irritating enough to set teeth on edge.
Leng Shan, recovering from his shock, suppressed the smile threatening his lips. It seemed his gamble had paid off.
