DRAGONBORN SORCERER-Chapter 26: Fate of The Mockery pt—2
"Clan leader, can you hold on to this for a moment." Skyler said, throwing his mask at him, "And please back off for a moment. I’ll take care of those arrogant Xions."
Seeing the fury in his eyes, Leonardo stepped aside, commanding his men to back off. Meanwhile, Skyler’s black rob waved as a massive gusts started flowing from his hands. Using ’Element Lord’ he call upon tremendous clouds that covered the sky as far as it spanned.

The adventurers now understood why he asked them to fall back as an intense fights was about to begin. On the other hand, Sato and Rumi couldn’t comprehend the reason behind those clouds. Neither did it rain nor the thunder roar.
"Sato and Rumi was it?" Skyler said, his hands sparkling in thunder, "Lets settle our score and find out who should submit and to whom."
’Great!.’ Sato smiled, confidence lingering on his face, ’No matter how powerful you are, at the end of the day, you’re a sorcerer too. You cannot possibly take us both down.’
"Okay, then let’s do it your way." Sato replied, signalling Rumi with his confident eyes. Rumi smiled back as they saw Skyler walking gently towards them.
The next moment Skyler vanished without a trace. The panicked as a tension ran through their mind. ’What happened’ they thought. But it was already too late. Skyler punched on Sato’s right cheek with his right arm infused in thunder.
Sato was slower. It gave Skyler an advantage, allowing him to land consecutive hits with his thunder punches. However, it didn’t affect Sato much—not critically, at least. Skyler then used brute force for his next thunder punch, sending Sato flying along the ground until he collided with a rock, created under Skyler’s earth element.

’What just happened?’ Rumi, for whom it seemed like only a passing second, couldn’t follow Skyler’s movements. ’And where did that rock come from?’
The panic in her eyes, led her to lower her guard, and she followed the same condition and Sato within the next second.
Both stuck to the rock, thunder sparkling slightly around their skins— effect of Skyler’s thunder punch. Even blood came out of their mouths.
’Did I go overboard?’ Skyler thought, ’But it wasn’t enough to take them down. After all they’re on the same level as me.’
"Hay, stand up." Skyler said, a sign of pity on his eyes, "I know it’s not enough to beat you guys. Come on, give me your best."
"Haa-Haa." They chuckled in unison, and Rumi said, "Your physical abilities are something else. I give that much. However, your thunder element has no effect on us." They stood.
Rumi started enchanting while Sato unleashed flams around them, creating a barrier to protect themselves from Skyler’s.
"O Empress of Flames, heed my prayers. Lend me your strength to obliterate those who stand in your way." Rumi’s chant neared completion, forming a massive flame circle before Skyler. "Now come forth. AGNI ANGEL!" she screamed, pouring all her mana into the circle.
An embodiment of flames emerged from the circle. It looked like a woman enveloped in scorching flames. Her ten wings, made of bright crimson fire, radiated divine energy. Covering her eyes with a scarlet blindfold, she wielded a spear with three molten fangs, all engulfed in flames.
’What the—’ Skyler thought, hesitating for a moment, ’That thing— is it summoning? Moreover, as it seems, my ’Disintegrate’ won’t work against it. What kind of thing is that?’
[Alert: Heavy damage incoming]
As soon as the system appeared, that attack him with a ’BOOM’, creating an enormous and intense heat. The new black rob Skyler had been wearing, enflamed, tearing a part in flams. Skyler’s face got a burned mark. However, he stood firm and graceful. But it wasn’t same for the others.
The faint rustle of wind carried with it the muffled whispers of the adventurers. Some spoke in hushed tones, marvelling at the sorcerer’s abilities, while others exchanged uneasy glances, questioning how anyone could withstand such devastating attacks.

"There’s no way!" Rumi exclaimed in in shock, sweat dripping from her face, "How could you possibly withstand that? There’s no way countering that."
"Oh that." Skyler replied, raising his right arm, "It takes more than that to kill me. I’m not some ordinary adventurer after all. Now take this."
Water appeared from the blue circle above his head, compressing into a single sphere.
"Aqua Sphere!" He murmured, unleashing the water. It hit directly. Though Rumi and Sato were drenched, the water didn’t inflict much damage to frighten them..
"What’s that." Sato laughed it off, "What a puny attack! Did you really think that water would be effective against flames— specially ours."
"Ah! You think so." Skyler smiled, rather sinisterly, "If you really think I used the water for that purpose, then you’re sorely mistaken."
Sato noticed his body sparking faintly with the thunder Skyler had struck him with earlier. Rumi noticed it too. Suddenly, they heard the clapping of thunder above. They looked up. The clouds Skyler had summoned now roared with thunder. Instantly, they realized the water soaking their bodies was part of his plan. Terror filled their eyes as they looked at Skyler.
"Lightning Strike!" Skyler snapped his fingers, releasing a small spark of thunder. The thunder in Sato and Rumi’s bodies resonated with it. As a result, immense lightning from those clouds struck them directly, burning their skin to the core. Unlike magical attacks, this was a natural phenomenon, making it devastatingly effective.

’And that’s how we use less mana to create a highly effective attack,’ Skyler thought, turning his back to them and walking toward Leonardo.
"How did you—" Sato tried to ask, struggling to stand. His feet, burned by thunder, trembled, releasing smoke. He tried again. "How did you do that—...Ahem! How did you do that without breaking...a sweat?" His mask broke away.
’Such persistence!’ Skyler thought, glancing back at him. Rumi, meanwhile, was unconscious. ’I might as well let him know. Not like he’ll understand the physics of my world.’
He halted, smiled rather brightly and said, "All I had did was create a favourable condition to make the lightning fall directly on my targets."
"How..." he stammered, breathing unimaginably heavy, "Tell me sorcerer, how did you create that?"
His attitude irritated Skyler a bit. But he ignored that, and decided to disclose how he manage to create a natural attack.
"Earlier, when I obliterated the lava golems, the heat created massive vapor above us. Fortunately, I noticed that and used my winds to condense the vapor, leading to cloud formation. Under my influence, the friction between clouds created thunderclaps—a sign of incoming lightning. However, I couldn’t possibly control a natural phenomenon, and the strike could have landed anywhere."
Skyler walked slowly and elegantly, chuckling as he continued his explanation.
"So, I came up with a plan. When I consecutively struck both of you, I altered your bioelectric field and ionized your bodies by creating an additional electric field. It allowed your bodies to accumulate and store electrical energy that drastically increased your electric potential. And thunder always strikes areas with higher electric potential."
"And...And that’s why the lightning hit us?" Sato stammered, glancing at Rumi who was in much worse condition.
"Nah-Uhh!" he smiled, waving his index finger, "There still remained a last thing— a trigger that would make the lighting to strike. And it was my snap where I put a tiny bit of mana. And that concluded the whole process."
The adventurers were thrilled to hear the theory, though it was beyond their comprehension. After all, the physics of their world resided within magic. A few even clapped. Leonardo chuckled confidently while Rose and McVill looked at him with great admiration.
It was moment, when a voce echoed across the entire battle field, "That’s a pretty impressive theory you’ve got, sorcerer."
Nearly fifteen more Xions appeared on the battlefield—flying in mid-air without wyverns. Seeing them, Sato smiled faintly before his body gave out, and he collapsed.
"AGNI ANGEL!" All the flame sorcerers unleashed simultaneous attacks on Skyler. He had no time to evade and took the brunt of the hit head-on.
The fifteen attacks landed at once, creating an enormous pool of flames and intense heat.
