Don't Fall For Me, CEO-Chapter 927: Treated Like Family?
"What’s wrong?"
Susan Carter pushed the shopping cart forward, only to see July Quinn still staring intently in the direction of the checkout.
Following her gaze, Susan saw a well-dressed middle-aged woman at the checkout, holding onto a middle-aged man’s arm as they waited for the cashier to scan their items.
The cashier was scanning and packing their items into grocery bags, including a considerable amount of contraceptives.
Because both of them were wearing masks, Susan couldn’t figure out what made this middle-aged woman deserving of July Quinn’s attention.
She instinctively asked, "Do you know them? Or are you looking to buy contraceptives?"
Indeed, Susan noticed that July’s gaze was wandering back and forth between those two people and the pile of contraceptives.
"Yeah, go pick some for me," July answered suddenly, snapping back to reality.
This response left Susan feeling as if she’d been struck by lightning.
"You’re getting cozy with that Kyle guy and want me to buy contraceptives for you? You really don’t treat me like an outsider!"
"Is that a problem, son?"
Susan: "..."
Damn it, what bad luck!
But to avoid getting into trouble, he still had to go to the contraceptive section to pick some.
Busy picking out contraceptives, Susan had no idea that after he left, July was still staring intently at those two people and their contraceptives.
Jenna Sawyer...
Yes, even though the middle-aged woman was wearing a mask, July recognized her.
At The Presidential Palace, although she didn’t interact much with Jenna, who caused her mother to become a single mother, July couldn’t help but pay extra attention to her.
During that time, Jenna was soft-spoken, kind, and considerate.
Occasionally, when Yvonne Donovan spoke harshly, Jenna would even reprimand her.
Just like when Richard Donovan insisted on divorce, she appeared so magnanimous and left gracefully.
Therefore, July also wondered, did her mother lose to this woman because of her kindness?
But this perception was somewhat shattered when July saw Jenna, who had been divorced for less than half a month, buying a lot of contraceptives with another man.
She thought that probably not only her, but even Richard, who had lived with Jenna for decades, had never truly understood this woman.
After Jenna and the man finished paying, they quickly left the supermarket.
And soon, Susan returned pushing a shopping cart half full of contraceptives to July.
Susan originally thought that this mountain of contraceptives would disgust July, but unexpectedly, even after checking out and carrying the huge shopping bag home, July didn’t say a word against Susan.
Susan began to wonder if July, a girl in her early twenties, had such a high demand in that area?
Thinking this, he suddenly felt a bit sorry for Kyle Keaton.
In his prime, yet about to be drained by a woman like July...
"Why are you still standing there?"
After returning from the supermarket to July’s home, Susan had initially planned to organize the instant noodles and contraceptives into the cabinets before leaving.
After all, every time they’d been to the supermarket before, July would ask him to do so.
Unexpectedly, July suddenly barked at him.
"Aren’t you going to tidy up a bit?" Susan suddenly felt that July calling him an old lady was not an exaggeration.
He was really losing the air of a mercenary leader, actually offering to help organize stuff.
Unexpectedly, July refused him.
"No need, just get downstairs quickly."
"Oh!"
Before leaving, Susan glanced at the entire bag of contraceptives on the table again.
No wonder people often say, "Good dishes empty the pantry, a good woman exhausts a man."
