Don't Fall For Me, CEO-Chapter 921: What If I Treat You?
"Just strolling." July Quinn didn’t think her relationship with Richard Donovan was anything worth bragging about.
Moreover, she didn’t want her relationship with Richard Donovan to be exposed.
"What about you?" Afraid that Roman Kidd would keep asking, July Quinn casually asked instead.
But she didn’t realize that these simple words were sweeter than honey to Roman Kidd.
Is this woman actually concerned about him?
Though he wasn’t sure if the sun had risen in the west today, the feeling was really nice.
Even the curve at the corner of his lips became more pronounced.
"Mr. President said he has something important to discuss with me, so I’m planning to meet him."
Just now, Richard Donovan called Roman Kidd.
The purpose, naturally, was to discuss the potential crisis his impending divorce might bring and how they should handle the situation.
However, on the phone, Richard Donovan didn’t explicitly mention the divorce.
"Then I won’t hold you up."
July Quinn turned to leave.
Roman Kidd said, "Last time when I compensated you for the phone, I transferred you an extra eight thousand."
Yes, Roman Kidd intentionally transferred an extra eight thousand just to make July Quinn reach out to him first.
As a result, July Quinn took the money, and their conversation stopped at her receipt of the funds.
Feeling he had no choice, Roman Kidd brought it up.
In response, July Quinn just kept a straight face and asked him:
"Doesn’t your cousin owe me some compensation for wasting so much of my time?"
Great.
The words "don’t want to return the money" might as well have been written on her face.
Roman Kidd wasn’t angry, he just asked her, "For the extra eight thousand, can I invite you to a meal?"
If Roman Kidd’s aides were here, they would surely be shocked by his almost flattering tone.
Yes, Roman Kidd, despite his polite and seemingly easygoing demeanor, was never one for niceties.
Anyone trying to take advantage of him would definitely pay the price in other ways.
This kind of man was never going to flatter anyone, nor show any sign of humility.
But today, he did all of this in front of July Quinn, just for a meal?
What was even more unexpected was that Roman Kidd’s efforts and humility were met with the woman’s cold rejection.
"I already spent the money; I’m broke!"
In July Quinn’s eyes, Roman Kidd was still just Bianca White’s annoying cousin.
"What if I treat you?"
Roman Kidd’s eyes were full of smiles.
That day, he had personally witnessed her reconciling with Kyle Keaton, and finally understood that his feelings for her were genuine.
He felt sad, he acted out, he blamed the universe for not letting him meet July Quinn sooner.
But in the end, he saw on July Quinn’s social media a picture of her with another guy, accompanied by all sorts of strange captions.
Stuff like "If you hadn’t come into my life, I’d still have over two hundred left by the end of the month."
Stuff like "As long as the guy is handsome, a simple ’hey’ could start a romance!"
In Roman Kidd’s opinion, the guy in the photo did have decent features, albeit a bit too feminine.
If such a man could catch July Quinn’s eye, Roman Kidd thought he stood a chance too.
Of course, even if July Quinn just wanted to have some fun for a few days, Roman Kidd was confident he could keep her interest indefinitely.
With that thought, Roman Kidd made the first move in his life to pursue a girl—inviting her to a meal!
But July Quinn didn’t know what kind of schemes Roman Kidd was hiding; she just thought it was suspicious that he’d suddenly want to treat her to a meal while being in Bianca White’s camp...
"Then I’ll choose the place."
Hmm, not taking advantage when the opportunity presents itself would be foolish!
Not taking advantage of the enemy’s generosity would be even more foolish!
