Divorced and Determined: The CEO's Ex-Wife Fights for Love-Chapter 219
Chapter 219
“Look, it’s the lead actress Shu Man’er, just as beautiful as on TV!”
“I like the male lead, Wu Chen, he’s a talented young actor!”
“Male second, Peng Kai, is handsome too. I hope he keeps acting and hones his skills to become a lead actor soon!”
“Wow! There’s also a familiar old actor, but I can’t remember his name!”
“This drama has so many stars, it should be really good!”
…
The crowd of onlookers pulled out their phones, opened the zoom lens, and started taking photos. Among them, a few paparazzi and reporters were also present.
Sitting in the food cart, Lu Qin curiously looked over to see what the stars on TV looked like in real life. After a few glances, he stopped looking.
Hmm, so celebrities are just like regular people, with two eyes, a nose, and a mouth, nothing special.
He didn’t follow celebrities, so naturally, he didn’t recognize any of them, and he didn’t even find them familiar. There was an old actor he might have seen in a drama, but he didn’t have a strong impression.
Lu Qin usually watched cartoons with the little one on TV and had never watched an entire drama. The actors were all made up, and they were about to start filming.
A staff member came over and reminded Lu Qin to act as he normally would at the stall and not to deliberately look at the camera. Lu Qin nodded, it was easy enough.
He saw Assistant Director Chen Dong coordinate with the other departments before doing a final check.
“All departments are ready…”
Chen Dong’s words were interrupted by the executive director, Wen Zhiyong, from behind the monitor.
“Assistant Director, something’s not right…”
“What’s wrong?”
Chen Dong looked around but didn’t see anything.
Wen Zhiyong pointed to Lu Qin in the food cart and said, “This little boss is too handsome, don’t you think? If you didn’t know, you’d think…”
Wen Zhiyong didn’t finish his sentence, but his point was clear – with his sharp features, broad brows, and bright eyes, even without makeup, he looked like the leading man.
It was surprising that he was working at a food stall and not relying on his looks to make a living. The crew looked over at Lu Qin after Wen Zhiyong pointed him out.
At first, they hadn’t paid much attention to him, but now they realized that this food cart owner was exceptionally good-looking. Some even compared his looks with male second Peng Kai’s. Honestly, Lu Qin was more attractive.
Peng Kai was a typical fresh-faced young actor, the type you see everywhere, and there was a certain exhaustion with that kind of look. He was also wearing makeup, with several layers of foundation, making his skin look unnaturally white.
On the other hand, Lu Qin was overly handsome, with a gentle and refined aura. He was not only good-looking but had a charm that wouldn’t wear off with time.
He was perfect for an idol role, but unfortunately, he couldn’t act, or else Peng Kai’s spot as male second might have been taken. The lead actress, Shu Man’er, saw Lu Qin and her eyes lit up.
Male lead Wu Chen felt a bit envious of Lu Qin’s looks. After all, he was a talented actor, but if he had a bit more idol appeal, he’d be perfect. Lu Qin felt a bit frustrated seeing everyone staring at him.
Weren’t they the ones who asked me to be the background? Why is the problem suddenly on me?
Chen Dong quickly ran over and said to Lu Qin, “Sorry, Mr. Lu, you’re just too handsome! Could you please go sit to the side and rest? We need to borrow your work clothes for another staff member to play the stall owner.”
Lu Qin was stunned for a moment.
But okay, since it’s because I’m too handsome, I’ll let it slide.
With a helpless sigh, Lu Qin walked out, took off his work clothes, and sat on a folding chair nearby to watch the filming. Now, he didn’t have to exert any effort at all, just earning money effortlessly. Not bad at all.
Filming began.
The actors took their places.
Then came the familiar sounds of “A-Action” and “Cut.”
Lu Qin, watching from the side, couldn’t help but think, Is this for real?
In the third scene, there was a small plot where the male lead had to buy a portion of fried rice noodles from a street vendor. The staff member playing the stall owner was having trouble.
“I don’t know how to make fried rice noodles.”
“Try it.”
“Just pretend.”
At this moment, Lu Qin walked over to Assistant Director Chen Dong and reminded him, “Director, you need to charge for the ingredients, right? Oil and seasoning are free, but the noodles should be priced.”
Chen Dong’s mouth twitched.
“Okay, okay, Mr. Lu, we won’t forget.”
He understood; street vendors usually operated on small margins, so Lu Qin’s concern was valid.
“Cut!”
“How did you fling the noodles out? Control the strength!”
…
“Cut!”
“How much soy sauce are you putting? The noodles are as black as the bottom of the wok! Would you even dare eat this?”
“Cut!”
Director Wen was frustrated with a staff member playing a minor role.
“How can making fried noodles be this hard?”
But he couldn’t change the actor, since several shots from earlier had featured the food stall, and replacing the actor would mean reshooting, which was too much trouble.
“Forget it, forget it. Let’s focus on the close-ups of the hand movements and then cut to the next scene.”
Chen Dong immediately went to find Lu Qin and asked him to fry a portion of noodles. It had been agreed earlier that Lu Qin would help with the cooking process.
“Alright.”
Lu Qin put his phone in his pocket and stood up. He didn’t want his fried noodles to be ruined by the crew anymore.
“The photographer will only film the hands.”
If they filmed his face or body, it would be obvious that the actor and Lu Qin didn’t match – the stall owner was an older man, and Lu Qin was a young guy with a completely different build.
Lu Qin walked to the cart, tidied up the “mess,” and demonstrated what it truly meant to “fry rice noodles.”
As soon as the wok started sizzling, a delicious aroma filled the air, making the people nearby salivate. It smelled amazing!
Especially male lead Wu Chen, who had been filming for most of the day and was getting hungry. The thought of eating while acting excited him.
“Okay, cut!”
The shot of Lu Qin’s cooking was finished, and Director Wen gave a thumbs-up, praising, “Mr. Lu, you’re amazing! The way you fried the noodles was so professional, honestly, your entire noodle-frying sequence almost stole the show! Haha!”
With those words, the crew all looked at Lu Qin. Director Wen rarely praised anyone, always quick to criticize, even the lead actors. But this time, he praised an extra. It was rare to see.
In the director’s monitor, every one of Lu Qin’s movements was detailed and smooth, and the close-up shot could rival that of a culinary show.
After Lu Qin left the cart, the staff member put on the work clothes again, and a wide shot was taken. Then, it was time for male lead Wu Chen’s scene.
He had to eat the fried noodles while delivering his lines.
“Wu Chen, are you ready?” 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
“Ready, director.”
“Props team?”
“Ready.”
“Good, action!”
Wu Chen had already memorized his lines and was confident about the scene. He picked up his chopsticks and took a bite of the fried noodles.
