Chapter 218

Jiang Qin didn’t care.

“I’m telling the truth, didn’t you take any measures?”

Last night was a surprise attack, and it wasn’t even Shen Muyan’s villa. Jiang Qin didn’t believe that in such a sudden situation, they would still bring something like a small umbrella. So, it seems natural that the little one might have a little brother or sister.

“Mom, don’t say such things in front of the child.”

Shen Muyan was about to be driven mad, not knowing the truth but still talking about it, and the worst part was that she couldn’t explain it. It was so frustrating.

Fortunately, Little Lu Xiyao was enjoying her delicious fried egg and didn’t hear the adults talking. After finishing his porridge, Shen Hongda wiped his mouth and said to Jiang Qin, “Alright, don’t say too much about such things. Just keep it in mind, and it’s enough.”

Saying this out loud would be too embarrassing for the younger generation. Shen Hongda understood this. But as he spoke, his brows twitched slightly, clearly indicating he was in a good mood. He had already had two bowls of porridge.

Shen Muyan couldn’t stay any longer, so she grabbed a piece of bread and went to work. Being the CEO was not easy, she had to work even on weekends.

Yesterday, when Jiang Qin suddenly stayed at the villa, it disrupted Lu Qin’s routine. By the time he returned to the rented house, it was already 7:30 PM.

Without any notice from Lu Qin, Xiaomi had gone to the market to buy ingredients for the day, based on yesterday’s menu. So, today’s menu was still the same as yesterday’s.

The main dishes were stir-fried, and the three dishes from yesterday were imperial chicken wings, fish-flavored shredded pork, and dry-braised fish. The feedback on the three dishes was great, so there was no problem sticking to the same menu.

Xiaomi had already completed 80-90% of the preparation work. She put the drained rice noodles into plastic baskets and covered them with gauze.

“Boss, you’re back?”

“I went to buy the ingredients today. I didn’t have enough money, and I still owe 432.50 to Cai, the fish seller.”

“Oh, no problem, I’ll transfer the money to him via WeChat.”

Since they were regular customers, Xiaomi could charge the items. Lu Qin took out his phone and greeted Cai, the fish seller, on WeChat. Xiaomi seemed not to bargain.

For the 2.50 leftover, Cai would generally just let it slide. The morning stall was at the usual place, and Lu Qin didn’t bother sending a notice to the group.

The bulletin board had the announcement that if there was no special notice, the stall location would be the same as the previous day. Today, the morning stall sold a lot of kimchi.

In reality, kimchi sales weren’t as good as other foods, as it wasn’t something people could eat every day. It sold well mainly because the customers from Lianhua District, due to the distance, couldn’t come daily. They could only buy some kimchi and pickled chicken feet to keep in the fridge for a few days, satisfying their cravings until the next trip to Annan District. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

In the afternoon, when setting up the stall, Lu Qin noticed his phone battery was low, so he didn’t open the stall map app and just picked an old place.

At Huaguo Mountain Park, the weather was sunny, perfect for going outside. It was the weekend, so more people were out strolling than usual.

Upon arriving at the park, Lu Qin felt something was odd. The crowd outside the park was dense, pointing and even taking out their phones to take pictures.

Why weren’t they going inside to stroll?

Lu Qin slowly drove the food cart into the park.

“Boss, it looks like they are filming inside.”

Xiaomi, looking through the window, saw the camera in the distance. Lu Qin slowly stopped the car, and two staff members from Huaguo Mountain drove up in a patrol car.

“Sorry, sir, the park is being used by a film crew today. You can’t set up your stall inside.”

So they were filming.

There was nothing to be done. Lu Qin was about to find another spot when a man in a cap and glasses jogged over.

“Wait, wait! Isn’t this a perfect prop?”

“Hello, I’m Chen Dong, the assistant director of Happy Sunshine TV series.”

Chen Dong stopped Lu Qin.

“Hello, can we use your food cart as a prop for the filming? We need a food stall for a street background in a few scenes.”

Lu Qin was stunned for a moment, not expecting the film crew to want his food cart.

“Sorry, I still need to operate the stall. I don’t think I can do that.”

Lu Qin refused, he was there to do business.

“Don’t worry, sir, we’ll pay you. It won’t take more than half a day to finish filming a few scenes, and I’ll pay you for a full day’s earnings, how about that?”

“You must be working hard at the stall, dealing with the sun and wind. Now you just need to serve as a background. When there’s no camera, you can rest. How does that sound?”

Chen Dong was trying hard to convince Lu Qin. He was struggling to find a prop food cart, and this opportunity was too good to pass up.

Lu Qin thought for a moment and asked, “Really? You’ll pay me a full day’s earnings?”

“Of course! We’re a big film crew, we won’t cheat you. Also, you might get to see some stars! If you want any autographs or photos, I can arrange that!”

“I still have a lot of ingredients in my cart. Those ingredients are mine, right? I need to take them back afterward.”

Chen Dong nodded.

“We only need your food cart as the background. Occasionally, we might need to sell some snacks to the characters, but we won’t use your ingredients.”

Chen Dong took a glance at the food cart, which was full of large and small boxes of ingredients.

“You sell fried rice noodles? The crew might want to order a few portions for the staff, and we can pay extra for that. Is that okay?”

Chen Dong asked, suggesting that the fried rice noodles could be ordered for the crew. As for the actors, well, the little-known actors were very picky about food and wouldn’t eat the box lunch provided by the crew. They would order food from a restaurant.

Fried rice noodles were a different story.

“If the conditions are like this, then no problem, I agree.”

Lu Qin nodded. If it was like this, it was quite profitable. And with the sealed fresh-keeping box, some of the ingredients wouldn’t spoil.

Chen Dong saw that Lu Qin agreed and clapped his hands, instructing a staff member to show Lu Qin where to park. There was also Xiaomi in the cart, so Lu Qin told her to drive his M7 back and clean the kitchen, and prepare the kimchi for pickling.

Lu Qin could also have Boss Zhao deliver a batch of disposable food containers for Xiaomi to collect. Xiaomi left, and Lu Qin set up the food cart just like usual. After that, there wasn’t much else to do.

The crew members were busy around, while Lu Qin sat alone in the cart, enjoying the breeze from the fan, drinking iced mung bean soup, and scrolling through his phone.

Once the scene setup was complete, each department began preparing for filming. Not far away, a few vans were parked at the foot of Huaguo Mountain, and the main actors got out of the vehicles. At that moment, the crowd of onlookers outside caused a stir.
