Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me-Chapter 128: Hooligan
"Heh... You did all this just to send a copy to Cassian Jennings?" ’It’s always about Cassian Jennings...’
Amelia Avery made no attempt to hide it, just sneered, "That’s right. I want him to know exactly what kind of woman he’s fallen for."
"But Cassian Jennings doesn’t like you."
Leo Joyce’s words nearly made Amelia Avery snap. She strode over to him and grabbed him by the collar. "Don’t you dare say that! He’ll come to like me. One day, he will!"
Leo Joyce felt a piercing pain in his heart...
’Amelia Avery has loved Cassian Jennings their whole lives. But what about me? Haven’t I loved the proud, disdainful Amelia Avery for just as long?’
’But look at the Amelia of today... a wretched mess, all for Cassian Jennings...’
He concealed the disappointment and sorrow in his eyes, raising his hands to pry her fingers off his collar, one by one. "Amelia Avery," he said faintly, "you need to snap out of it."
"This is none of your business! Just remember that you lost. Tonight, you have to do whatever I say!"
The words had barely left Amelia Avery’s mouth when someone started pounding on the door. "Amelia Avery, I know you’re in there! Get out here now!"
Recognizing the voice, Amelia Avery’s expression soured as she went to open the door.
Leo Joyce leaned back on the sofa, exhausted. He closed his eyes and said nothing, her words still ringing in his head.
"Brother..." Seeing who was at the door, all the arrogance Amelia Avery had shown toward Leo Joyce evaporated.
Aiden Avery glanced at the man on the sofa, then roared furiously at Amelia, "Amelia, I’m saying this for the last time! Stay away from places like this! And stay away from Leo Joyce!" With that, he grabbed Amelia to drag her away.
Amelia Avery angrily shook his hand off. "Brother, why? Why are you doing this?" ’Ever since I told him I liked Cassian, my brother has forbidden me from seeing him. And after that, Cassian himself started giving me the cold shoulder, treating me with nothing but sarcasm and scorn.’
’And now he’s interfering with my friendships, too?’
’Will he only be happy once I’m completely alone?’
"There’s no why. You’re better off staying away from people like Leo Joyce." ’Anyone who gets mixed up with a Little Tyrant like him is just asking for trouble.’
"First you tell me not to see Cassian, and now you’re telling me not to see Leo Joyce. Brother, I’m an adult! I have the right to choose my own friends."
Aiden Avery was so furious his chest ached. It was the first time his little sister had ever argued with him like this. "Amelia Avery, it seems I’ve been way too easy on you, and that’s why you’ve..."
Leo Joyce, who had been sitting silently on the sofa with his eyes closed, couldn’t listen anymore. He got up, held a hand up to silence Aiden Avery, and sneered, "Hold it right there, Young Master Avery. Tell me, what’s so wrong with your sister being friends with me?"
"With your reputation? You think I can rest easy letting Amelia hang around with a punk like you?" ’Reputation aside, what I was really worried about was Amelia being in danger.’ 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Leo Joyce wasn’t offended. Instead, he shoved his hands in his pockets and said provocatively, "Tough luck... your sister just happens to like punks like me..."
"—" Aiden Avery took a step forward, about to charge over and beat Leo Joyce to a pulp.
Seeing this, Amelia Avery grabbed her brother’s arm, glaring furiously at Leo Joyce. "Leo Joyce, shut your mouth!"
