Divine Evolution: Primordial of Imagination-Chapter 34: Too difficult to kill
Lenny couldn’t help but smile at the question.
He giggled "I guess we’re a twin then" He joked.
Crystal’s gaze darkened, this was a confirmation.
This had gone beyond her calculations, she knew she had to truly go all out if she must kill him.
"First you have a shadow familiar, then your shadow familiar possessed a Rune of Flames"
"You directed a Rune of Mindcraft to incapacitate me for a minute and you have a Rune of Revival"
"This is no ordinary Fallen Rune of the Hidden Path, what exactly are you?" She asked.
The more she thought about it, the more she wasn’t able to understand Lenny Night at all.
He was too unknown for even an Unknown like her.
Lenny sighed deeply "That’s a secret tho, but I’m also curious about your Fallen Rune as well" He answered.
Crystal raised an eyebrow "What exactly are you curious about?" She asked.
Lenny grinned "Back then, I was forced to read quite a lot of shits about the Den of Thieves"
"Your cult may specialize in thievery but they are also versatile and can use other paths Fallen Runes"
"Every decade, a team of thieves will venture into the Regulator’s society and many Fallen Regulators will lose their Fallen Runes and rune classes"
"This Fallen Runes will then be shared amongst the lesser ranking cultists right?" Lenny asked.
Crystal stayed silent, not accepting nor denying.
Seeing this, Lenny continued "This sinful Fallen Runes are hereditary and can only be passed down from bloodline to bloodline"
"So I can ascertain your position in the cult quite easily, miss heiress"
"While others can steal objects, souls, fate, life, you can only steal Fallen Runes but the fact that you can permanently store this stolen Fallen Runes and use them without restrictions"
"It means your Fallen Rune’s rank ain’t ordinary" Lenny stated.
Crystal sighed "Get to the point already, what do you want?" She asked.
Lenny giggled "I only want to know your Fallen Rank" He answered.
Crystal slightly raised an eyebrow "And would you tell me yours?" She asked.
Lenny shrugged "Sure, I will"
Crystal nodded, "Fine then, I have no reason to hide it in the first place....my Fallen Rank is Divine" She answered.
Crystal glanced at Lenny, expecting him to fall into despair as she exposed her Fallen Rank.
But instead, Lenny grinned "Oh?" He giggled, "I thought as much, what a coincidence" He sighed, gently swinging his daggers on the air.
Crystal frowned "A coincidence?" She asked.
Lenny nodded "Yeah, we both have the same Fallen Rank, the Divine evolution" Lenny giggled.
Crystal’s eyes widened in shock "You.... you are a divine...."
Before Crystal could complete her statement, she was attacked once again.
RUNE OF MINDCRAFT!
Countless informations flooded her mind in a split second, incapacitating her, her body shook.
Lenny had already closed the distance while distracting her, he plunged his daggers straight into her neck.
Crystal coughed out bloods from her mouth, her eyes shook, filled with fear.
Lenny’s lips curled into a dark grin "You should know how it ends when a thief encounters a child of shadows right?"
Lenny whispered softly "Once must surely die that day"
Crystal chuckled "I’m aware of that....." She whispered back, in that moment, Lenny sensed something was wrong.
But before he could even react.
A ghastly explosion erupted, the air rippled and the source of the explosion came from the dying Crystal. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
Lenny was engulfed by the chaotic flames, his flesh burned but he remained standing, he sighed.
"I guess you’re just as crafty as I am" Lenny giggled, he emerged from the clouds of erupting flames.
[Rune Mastery: 75%]
He was self healing and self regenerating, since he couldn’t die.
All he had to do was wait until he was completely repaired.
Made anew.
Resting on the cracked wall with her arms crossed was Crystal, she had used her sorcery to craft a new body and substitute it with hers.
Making the substitute suffer the backlash of being stabbed and having her mind overwhelmed with knowledge.
But she also implanted a bomb within the substitute, ready to destroy Lenny if he got closer.
And he did.
Crystal frowned slightly "You are more durable than I expected, is your self regeneration also Divine?" She asked.
Lenny shook his head "Nah it’s not" He grinned, "But I’m just something very hard to kill" He sighed.
Crystal nodded "Then I’ll try my best to kill...." Before Crystal could complete her statement.
Her heart skipped a beat.
Her body shook, and she noticed Lenny’s lips curled up.
Crystal’s eyes shook, her body shuddered as she collasped on her knees "What is going on?" She questioned.
"Is....Is....Is this corruption?" She raised her head, staring directly into Lenny’s eyes, watching him slowly approach her.
"That’s correct" Lenny confirmed, he chuckled softly, "But...but how?" She questioned.
Lenny slightly tilted his head, he sighed "Do you actually thought I never knew you could substitute?" He asked.
"You probably have up to ten Fallen Runes stored in you and most of them are of the Hidden Path"
"Very hard to deal with, making you necessary almost impossible to truly be killed by me"
"But whatever you do has a trace of your mana right? I could easily track down your source and corrupt you"
"This meant striking your substitute’s soul was the same as striking your soul" Lenny giggled.
A new mark had appeared on his arm.
And he had unleashed a new imagined Fallen Rune.
Rune of Souls!
Soul Corruption!
"Your soul has been corrupted by me.....you can’t escape your death" Lenny stated.
Crystal coughed out bloods, each second passing caused her soul to deteriorates and the cracks expanding beyond reasoning.
Crystal glared at Lenny, her lips curled into a dark grin.
"Oh?" Lenny raised an eyebrow, "You’re still smiling?" He asked.
Crystal chuckled "You’re right about one thing, It ain’t easy to kill me...."
"We’ll surely meet again" She declared.
Sensing an abnormality in the air, Lenny wanted to stop whatever she was about to do but it was too late.
Crystal had destroyed her body already, Lenny observed her corpse with a sigh "There’s no trace of her soul" He whispered.
"I was right....she really is difficult to kill" Lenny’s lips curled up.
"This wasn’t her true body in the first place"
