District 42-Chapter 396: The support group attacks!

As MMA was engaged in battle with the group acting on the vanguard, the support group began to make their moves as well. They delayed a bit because they needed to stay at the rearguard making their preparations.

They wouldn’t be acting on their own, after all. They planned to increase the power of the attackers, and so overwhelming MMA and dealing as much damage as possible.

The first one to make his move was Canute, who shouted the command to everyone there to start their own as well.

His staff shone with energy as he typed several coordinates in the bracelet on his forearm. He was spending lots of Indigo Energy at that movement, it was clear.

MMA saw that Canute was going to do something. He even tried to make something about it, but couldn’t. Casper and the others overwhelmed him in such a way that he wasn’t able to pay attention to the support group. That was one of the main functions of the attackers: prevent MMA from assaulting their rearguard and making their support get wiped out.

Canute finished his preparations and activated his staff, creating several portals around the battlefield.

He made something similar to it before when in the Reconquering as they fought in Uppsala. Casper saw it with his own eyes and he knew what was going to happen there.

Once Ivar noticed Canute’s measures to aid them, he smiled.

’I couldn’t mistake the low buzz of these portals at all! I would recognize it from several kilometers away, even! That is the movement that I and Canute trained so much to achieve all this while, our perfect demonstration of synchrony!’

The blind warrior strengthened the grip on his sword and ran with all his might towards one of the portals, following its buzzing sound.

Ivar increased his speed as he switched places very fast, using the portals as if he knew exactly where they would lead.

’The secret behind this technique isn’t knowing where the portals will bring me. Instead, Canute already directioning them to the enemies. I just need to enter all these portals as fast as I can and react in time to use this advantage to surprise my enemies! Whichever path I take, it will always take me to my opponent in the end!’

Ivar was still working past his limits. He didn’t know how much more his body would hold on. However, he was eager to keep going no matter what, particularly now!

The Fenrir was just a blur passing around MMA, leaving attacks from time to time and crossing ways with him, always entering in the portals and using them for his own advantage.

Always when MMA tried to enter into one of the portals, Canute would disable it right away and prevent him from turning the tables.

Once the rest of the group understood the strategy behind that tactic, they began to follow Ivar, also using the portals.

Soon, every attacker in the frontline was warping in different locations, appearing suddenly and attacking MMA, just to disappear again and get replaced with another one.

That fast and random attack pattern was finally overwhelming the cyborg, who began to get more and more harm in his body.

The group knew that, at this rate, MMA’s deadline was short. However, Canute wasn’t the only person in the support group.

Soon MMA saw that something was lurking around. It was a thin and greenish smoke that was moving towards him like a snake. He noticed that that smoke was coming from all his sides. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

The man did his best to avoid it. He knew what would happen to him if he got touched by that smoke.

It got in his way in the battle, though, making him receive more direct attacks.

Loki, of course, was the one controlling that gas, making it dodge his comrades and just focus on MMA. He paid attention to not affect anyone on his team, although it was quite hard.

The next one to act was Ari, and the results of his work would be shown in some seconds.

As MMA moved across the battlefield swiftly, trying to avoid both the smoke and his warping enemies trying to attack him, he couldn’t fully pay attention to the ground.

One of his steps landed right beside an oval-shaped thing that was making beep sounds. Once it recognized something approaching, that oval thing showed to be a potent explosive that sent the man flying forward once it exploded.

The destructive power wasn’t ordinary like its shape and small figure. Instead, it was far stronger than a grenade.

MMA’s body got launched to the right. His metallic skin got dirty soot.

That was the first time in the battle when the team was finally showing results. They were becoming excited!

The group continued with their merciless onslaught, each one using their powers at its peak!

It didn’t matter whether their bodies would get destroyed or not. Not that time! Not against an enemy as strong as MMA! Not when their freedom was the thing at stake!

Casper used the powers that Yanke provided to him with proficiency while slaughtering the cyborg.

Ivar sacrificed again his own body in order to leave greater damage on his old leader.

Leo’s body was reinforced with Indigo Energy, his veins were popping out and acquiring a blue color, his eyes had the same color. He was wildly swinging his huge fists and destroying everything in his way.

Tein was nearly at the peak of strength that he acquired while fighting against Ivar, but his heat and flames were more concentrated and controlled in order to not kill everyone around him.

Canute was still creating more portals to make that battlefield nearly impossible for MMA to walk around.

Ari and Loki were working on leaving as much harm as they could in long distance.

Camilla was fighting with all her might too. She had such harmony with Casper that it was difficult to think that she never fought beside him.

Like this, they were clearing their path to their glory days!
