Chapter 143: The messy General Court

Vick needed to blink a few times to be assured that she had not slept on the throne and was sleeping with that crazy situation. She even scratched her forearm secretly with her nails, just to be sure, but there was no mistake, she was completely awake, and Casper was in front of her.

The White warrior was gasping, leaning his body, with his hands supported on top of the knees. That other man beside him wasn’t as good as him, actually he was even worse. They seemed exhausted.

She was willing to know how they could pass through the Ridires guarding the General Court. It was something near impossible to pass unnoticed by them, and one would need to fight a lot to really be able to do it. The Princess always thought that those guards being there was just useless, since no one could attack her there. First of all, the masks were preventing it, and second, even if a Frelsi tried to do so, he would need to pass through a lot of other problems in the way, it was unlikely that he would make it until the General Court.

Nonetheless, now, she was thinking that those guys were even more useless than she thought before. Not they only were there just for show and whimsy, but couldn’t do the only job they needed to do there was slacking all day along.

"I will need to talk to my dad regarding this... The elite troops trained by the Aesirs aren’t cheap to maintain but they yield more than the others trained by the own government. " She thought annoyed. "But, how the heck could they pass through that many Ridires there? Even if they can be incompetent, there was no way to defeat that many of warriors at once..."

She took her response when someone else burst into the room, opening the big double doors with a loud thud.

"Princess!" Someone cried. It was the Ridire encharged for the guard of the General Court. "Everyone, raise your guns!" His loud voice made Vick tremble inside as it was too loud.

A lot of Ridires started to enter the hall and surround both figures at the center of it.

"Don’t move an inch or I will kill you! Do you understand?" The warrior tried to intimidate him, but Casper only gave an irritated look and avoided his eyes. "Don’t ignore meee!"

Differently from what he told him to do, the soldier shrugged and started to walk towards the throne with a frivolous look on his face. Vick needed to admit that she nearly laughed at his boldness and at the face that the Ridire made.

"Y-You! Stop! We will shot!"

"Will you? So do it. Shot inside the General Court, with Princess Vick inside here. How is the king going to react when knowing that the life of his daughter was put at risk by Ridires shooting against two people that shouldn’t even have been able to surpass the gates?" Casper and Alfar decided to let their guns and whatever weapons they had with them aside before enter into the General Court. Once inside there, as those Ridires didn’t have the order to execute them, they couldn’t just shot because they felt like it.

It was a way to maintain themselves safe and to prevent getting into more fights, which was the least they needed for now. After all, after passing all day running, brawling, and running more, they weren’t too much excited with the idea of one more conflict.

As the Ridires got stunned by Casper’s words, he kept walking forward and approached the throne, kneeling in front of Vick, who nearly smiled at that sight. Alfar remained behind him, and he seemed to be in the middle of a call with someone on the cellphone that Casper had.

"Your Honor, it is a joy and pleasure to be talking with you again. I know that your schedule is already full and that you have a lot of people to attend to as well, but would you hear what your ordinary servant has to say?"

She was going to respond, but an Aesir also entered the room moments after, interrupting what was going on there.

"Your highness! Someone escaped from Halden! There is a big hole in the ceiling of floor 6, about 3 meters in diameter. The reports said that an Aesir and his troop got all knocked out, and three prisoners escaped with a Drakkar... Hey, isn’t it them!?" The Aesir talking was Canute.

Once he saw Casper and Alfar surrounded by all those Ridires, and the first kneeling in front of Vick, his eyes bulged.

He walked towards the White warrior with his fists clenched, Vick predicted what would happen, and got out of the throne to put herself between them, but before anything could happen, the double doors of the General Court opened wide again.

"Aaargh! Why nobody that enters let this thing opened!?" Vick thought, nearly expressing her thoughts out loud.

The Ridire with a loud voice looked back and forth to Casper, Canute, the doors, and then Vick, dumbfounded. The others did almost the same thing with each other.

Entering inside that place now was Katarina, the leader of the Search group in which Casper was in, and Adam, one of the three geniuses of the Main Lab.

"Ok, Casper, we are here! Alfar called us!" Katarina shouted, energetic and flashy as always, with a tone that wasn’t too much of what you would expect from a woman.

"Why are you here!?" The Ridire yelled but got ignored again.

"Ok, that’s turning into a huge mess..." Vick sighed, massaging her temples.

"Does anyone know what’s happening, and why there is not a single Ridire trying to handcuff these guys?" Canute asked, exasperated.

"I wish I could smoke or drink now... I am missing my herbs. Can I go for now, Katarina? I need to do my work..." Adam seemed to be ready to sleep standing in the same place there, and even though he tried to beg Katarina, she shouted a clear "no!" at him.

Casper was so stunned by the outcome of all that situation that he was paralyzed at the same kneeling position as before, thinking if he messed up with everything and why that serious situation got so comic all of a sudden.

Just as they were thinking if it could be worse, Rolvur, followed for some other scientists, got inside the place, and Amelia as well, afterward.

"Casper, I saw what happened in the Third Lab. How the hell did you end up doing that!? You opened a hole 3 meters wide from the superior levels of the Third Lab to this floor! Are you crazy!? Do you know how many people ended up hurt? It’s a total mess in the laboratory by now!"

Rolvur passed in front of the Head nurse, shouting as well.

"Shut up! I will have my answer first! I need to know what the hell is those incompetent Ridires doing, that they could afford two important subjects to be gone like this, and they even tried to kill them!" Once the Principal ended his complaint, all the Ridires inside the General Court, including Canute, looked at him with murderous eyes, which make the fat man back away some steps, but never taking back what he said.

Casper walked some steps to the side, to stop being the focus on that argument. He was worrying that all the mess he did was going to end up with his plans.

As if those people weren’t enough, more Ridires entered inside that local. This time, they were with someone handcuffed being dragged along.

"Princess, we captured the third man taking part in the escape that happened a while ago!"

Olaf was faint, and his clothes were all dirt. Everything indicated that something went really wrong during his frantic drive.

"He cracked the Drakkar he was driving in a building. It’s still stuck there. Besides, the beam that made that huge hole on the ceiling apparently cut half of another huge building in the center of the city."

Casper was wanting to have a duplicate of that weapon in his hands to cave another hole in the ground and go to another floor. He had an idea that he would be doing a huge mess, but he wasn’t planning to expose it to Vick so soon.

The General Court was already crowded, and as if it wasn’t enough, everyone was talking loudly and arguing about different things. It was a ruckus. Even the advisers that were supposed to be composed and stay out of it began to argue for some reason.

The Ridires were getting angrier, and they seemed to be about to enter into a fight with Rolvur and the scientists, and Amelia was prepared to tag along with them.

"Silence!" A strong and cold voice crossed the hall as if it was a blizzard making everyone there shiver. It had sovereignty behind, authority, and no one could keep talking to oppose it.

"All of you, keep quiet and listen. I don’t want to hear a word until I ask for this."

They lowered their heads, agreeing.

"Casper..." Vick called him, in a threatening tone.

"B-Be gentle...?"
