Dimensional Keeper: All My Skills Are at Level 100-Chapter 784: Julio’s opportunity
Chapter 784: Julio’s opportunity
"Haha, Young Master Omar, how was that little gift I left behind for you in the Berserk Lightning Region?"
Max’s laugh rang out, sharp and disdainful, echoing through the high rafters of the Hourglass Restaurant’s third floor. His white robes swished around his legs as he tilted his head slightly, his eyes glinting like blades beneath the glow of the lanterns overhead.
He taunted, voice dripping with a cruel amusement that rolled over the crowd like a sudden gust of icy wind. "Did it give you a good scare—or did it blow up more than just your pride?"
Omar’s face turned from livid red to pale gray, his mouth opening and closing wordlessly for a moment like a fish pulled from water. His chest heaved under the black robes marked with lightning sigils, and veins stood out at his temples as rage seethed inside him.
"You...!" he choked, fingers trembling as he pointed at Max, but words seemed to fail him.
Josh, who had been quietly observing the exchange with a deep frown, suddenly narrowed his eyes. The young man’s aura tightened like a coiling serpent, dense and oppressive, making the nearby tables rattle ever so slightly as cups and plates clinked together.
His sharp voice cut through the tension like a sword. "What happened, Young Master Omar?" he demanded, turning his eyes on Omar with a chilling calmness that only made the moment more dangerous.
Omar sucked in a shuddering breath, still glaring murderously at Max. "Josh, this is the one I told you about earlier!" he spat out finally. "This bastard dared to lay hands on me in the Berserk Lightning Region. He ambushed me, nearly killed me, and stole every treasure I carried—including the lightning marrow stones my father personally gave me!"
His voice trembled as humiliation and fury surged through him. "This wretch humiliated me!"
Josh’s gaze slid back to Max, his eyes dark as storm clouds swirling with the promise of thunder and destruction. His lips curved into a cold sneer as his killing intent surged outward like invisible blades slicing through the room.
"So it’s you," he said softly, his tone like the edge of a sword. "I was wondering whether the people Omar brought were simply useless, or whether this thief was truly someone worth noticing." He took a single step forward, the wooden floor creaking beneath the shift of his weight, and shadows seemed to dance around his figure. "Tell me, thief—how do you want to die?"
Max arched an eyebrow, completely unfazed. His lips curled into a smirk as he stood there, arms folded casually over his chest. "With just you?" he shot back, his voice dripping with scorn. "A single 1st level Legend Rank genius dares to speak to me about death?"
He tilted his head, white hair sliding over his shoulder, and scoffed. "You should ask Omar first how my ’death’ worked out for him last time."
A hush fell over the third floor of the Hourglass Restaurant so abruptly it was as if the air itself had frozen solid. Even the lights seemed to flicker lower, trembling in the thick silence that followed Max’s scornful words.
Josh’s sneer twitched at the corner of his lips as his teeth ground together, the veins on his neck standing out like taut ropes.
He gave a sharp, humorless laugh, the sound echoing off the wooden beams overhead. "With just me? Believe me when I say—to kill you, I’d need just one move." His voice was soft, but each syllable dripped with lethal promise, like venom sliding from a serpent’s fangs.
Max folded his arms across his chest, silver hair falling over one eye as he tilted his chin slightly higher, his gaze glinting like ice. "I’ve heard," he said, voice calm and cool, but carrying clearly across the stunned restaurant, "that Thunder Monarch Hall is the weakest among the seven overlord forces. That it’s filled with trash who only bark louder than they bite."
A smirk curved his lips as he leaned forward a fraction. "So let’s see exactly how much trash you guys really are."
The words dropped like stones into a still pond. For a heartbeat, there was absolute silence, as if the entire third floor was holding its collective breath. Then shock exploded across every face. Heads whipped toward Max, eyes wide, mouths agape.
Frank’s lips parted in a slow, incredulous smile as he shook his head slightly, a cold glimmer in his eyes. He stared at Max as though he’d sprouted a second head. This kid...has he eaten some spirit herb that made him fearless? he thought. Even as a member of the Void Soul Tower—a force famed for arrogance and pride—Frank wouldn’t have dared to mock another overlord force so brazenly, let alone call them trash to their faces.
Across the table, Derek’s eyes lit up with malicious amusement, his lips curling into a sneer as he crossed his arms, seemingly eager to see Thunder Monarch Hall and Max tear each other apart.
June’s eyes flickered as she watched in silence, her expression unreadable, though an odd glimmer of interest sparked in the depths of her calm gaze.
Josh’s entire face darkened like thunder rolling across a stormy sky. A powerful, suffocating aura began to surge from his body, rippling the air around him. Tables rattled. Teacups cracked as hairline fractures crawled up delicate porcelain. "How...dare...you...insult the Thunder Monarch Hall?!" he snarled, his voice echoing off the wooden walls like rolling thunder.
Sparks of blue lightning crackled around his arms and shoulders, snaking out in sharp arcs that scorched the floorboards beneath his feet. The scent of ozone thickened instantly, tingling on every tongue.
Gasps erupted around the room as people shrank back, chairs scraping across the floor as they pushed themselves as far from the coming storm as possible.
"Brother Josh, let me handle him. Someone at the 6th level of Master Rank isn’t even worth you making a move," he declared loudly, his voice edged with a mix of confidence and desperation.
The words were clearly meant for Young Master Omar’s ears as much as for Josh or Max.
Max tilted his head, his hair sliding across his cheek, regarding Julio with faint amusement, as though assessing a bug scuttling across his path.
Julio, however, didn’t notice—or pretended not to. His mind was working feverishly behind his determined expression. For years, he’d been vying for a place in Young Master Omar’s circle.
He’d heard the stories: the luxurious resources, the high-level guidance, the chance to rise above the thousands of other talented disciples of the Thunder Monarch Hall. But luck had never been on his side. Young Master Omar was difficult to approach, surrounded by his own close confidants and guarded by layers of protocol and power.
Until now.
When the news of Lord Kome’s secret cave broke out, Julio seized his chance, worming his way into the team under the pretext of needing to serve the Thunder Monarch Hall’s interests. It was his first opportunity to stand close enough to Young Master Omar to prove his worth.
And now, fate seemed to be handing him the perfect stage: a bold, arrogant interloper insulting the Thunder Monarch Hall in front of everyone. A perfect villain to slay.
His eyes glinted with the hunger of a man who saw the gates of fortune swinging open. "Young Master Omar, please allow me to handle this. Let me cut him down as an offering of loyalty to you." His voice trembled slightly at the end, the weight of his own ambition pressing on his chest.
