Devil Slave (Satan system)-Chapter 1268: Lesser Demon Rank 5
As Enel plunged into the gaping maw of the parasitic beast, he sighed, his voice almost bored as he muttered, "I’m not exactly edible, you know."
The beast, unbothered by his words, closed its jagged teeth around him, chewing with grotesque satisfaction. Its malformed face twisted into a gruesome smile as it swallowed, savoring what it assumed was a victorious feast. Dark blood leaked from its mouth, staining the molten ground, and for a brief moment, all seemed silent.
But then, the creature’s expression shifted. Its eyes widened in sudden discomfort, then horror. A guttural retch tore from its throat as it convulsed violently. With a heaving motion, it spat Enel out, his body coated in viscous bile as he tumbled to the ground.
The beast gagged and shuddered, its malformed face contorting as boils and pus erupted across its flesh. Enel rose slowly, deep puncture wounds from the jagged teeth marking his arms, chest, and legs. The wounds were horrific, torn as if by shards of broken glass, but even as they bled, they began to knit themselves together, sealing shut with unnatural speed.
He stretched lazily, then sat on the molten ground as though it were a park bench. A flick of his fingers conjured a cigar into his hand, which he lit with a snap. Taking a deep drag, he exhaled a plume of smoke and watched the convulsing creature with mild interest.
The parasite writhed, its tendrils flailing uselessly as its body leaked foul fluids. Blood and bile spewed from its mouth as it struggled to form words. "W-what... what was that? What poison have you used on me?"
Enel smirked, tapping the ash from his cigar with a casual flick. "I told you already—I’m not your average meal. I’m a little... different." He gestured to himself, his voice as nonchalant as if he were describing the weather. "You see, this isn’t my first life. It’s not even my second. But back in my second life, I had the pleasure of crossing paths with some truly delightful creatures called Jins. Ever heard of them? Corrupted offspring of fallen angels. Nasty little things, but one of them, in particular, was uniquely poisonous. Long story short, I absorbed him. His soul became part of mine, and when I was reborn, that poison came along for the ride."
The creature’s body spasmed uncontrollably, blackened pus pouring from its pores. Its voice rasped, now barely audible. "Y-you... you’re a monster..."
Enel shrugged, taking another drag from his cigar. "Pot calling the kettle black, don’t you think?"
The parasite’s movements grew weaker, its once-mighty form shriveling as though its very essence were being drained away. It convulsed one last time before collapsing entirely, its body shriveling like a dead, dried-up plant. The core beneath it suddenly flared with brilliant, blinding light, disintegrating the parasite’s remains in a burst of radiant energy.
Around them, the demon zombies collapsed, their bodies crumpling to the ground like marionettes whose strings had been cut.
Enel rose to his feet, brushing dust from his coat with a flick of his hand. His cigar still burned steadily as he glanced at the molten core, now pulsating with a steady, vibrant energy. He exhaled another plume of smoke, muttering to himself. "Well, that’s one mess cleaned up."
From the very beginning, Enel had figured out what this place was used for. But he was not of sufficient strength to battle an organism that very well could withstand blasts from Vandora.
Then again, he did not need to. he recognized that it was desperate for more, and a specimen as unique as Enel was not one it would let go. Such opportunity was just too precious for it.

And so he knew it will opt to consume him. But that was exactly the problem. Earlier on, Enel had performed experiments on his own body, and that was when he discovered that he was more unique than he thought he was.
A being like him had never existed. He had also seen how his Blue soul affected the rest of his being, and that was why even he sighed at the monster he had become.
Even without utilizing the powers of his former life, he was still a profound threat to the rest of the universe. And this creature was too ignorant of the world to know these things.

Enel took in sharp breaths as the alerts flowed in. they felt really good to him. It was really a good idea for him to utilize the system. It had increased his rank by so much.
At the same time, he could not help but look towards the corpse of the monster and shake his head. After all, he expected more.
He could have just used another method to let it have his blood, but he allowed it to swallow him because he assumed that it had a demon heart that he could consume. If it had, he would have risen even more in points, but unfortunately, this was just a parasite.
Enel looked at the alerts one more time. One thing in particular pulled his attention. The system had told him to invest ’Hate’ in the hearts of the people of this plane. this had never happened with the original copy of the Satan system.
He could not help but wonder if this one had a problem or it was because of the forbidden treasure that he used as its base for power.
It made him slightly suspicious, but he frowned it away. At least for now, it was useful... Then again, in a far away land, a particular entity sighed as a smile stained its face...
