Devil Slave (Satan system)-Chapter 1259: The People Of The Plane
Enel turned sharply to Perseus, his tone calm yet commanding. "Release your Greater Demon aura. It’ll send a strong message to our uninvited guest and buy us the time we need."
Perseus hesitated, his usually confident expression replaced with concern. "Enel, if I release my aura here, it’ll be catastrophic. The civilians in the city—my level of power will radiate through them like poison. It’ll kill the weaker ones and cripple the rest."
Enel frowned, considering the weight of Perseus’s words. He hated to admit it, but Perseus was right. His aura was too volatile for the confined safety of the city’s walls. With a frustrated sigh, Enel unclasped the bracelet on his arm, the one Victor had given him to assert dominance as the alpha and controller of the city. Holding it for a moment, he muttered, "Let’s see how well this works."
He placed the bracelet on a console, and with a sharp command, he activated the city’s defense mechanism. A low hum echoed through, taking the room as a command center as arcane glyphs began glowing along the walls. Outside, turrets mounted across the city’s perimeter roared to life. Energy cannons, fueled by potent magical cores, erupted in bursts of searing light.
The tendrils clawing at the city walls disintegrated on impact, blasted into dark, viscous remnants by the sheer force of the cannon fire. The city vibrated with each shot, as glowing streaks of energy tore through the invader’s appendages. The attack was relentless and precise, and for a moment, it seemed as though the city had the upper hand.
But just as one tendril was obliterated, another two emerged, slithering upward like hydra heads. They coiled and twisted, weaving their way around the defenses with unsettling persistence. Enel stared at the screen, his frown deepening.
"This isn’t working," he muttered under his breath. His crimson eyes darted across the displays, calculating. Then, with a sudden resolve, he turned to Perseus. "I’m going out there. You take command here."
Perseus met his gaze with a steady nod. "Be careful." perseus turned to the window and leapt through it, green lightning crackling around his body as he shot into the air, a streak of brilliance against the darkened skies.
Enel, meanwhile, closed his eyes briefly, sending a mental command to Vandora, the hell beast. *"Attack their source. Whatever’s sending these tendrils is afraid of you. Make it regret its greed."* Vandora, resting in her cavernous lair, let out a deafening roar that echoed across the Plane. Her massive frame began moving, the ground quaking with each step as she prepared her assault.
Enel’s focus returned to the room as Tomato stormed in, clearly annoyed. "What’s going on?" she demanded, her reptilian tail flicking with irritation.
"The city’s under attack," Enel said without looking at her. "Help Perseus hold the line."
Tomato snorted, crossing her arms. "You woke me up for this?"
"I’m leaving for a bit," Enel said dismissively as he strode past her, not giving her time to argue.
In the corridor, Allison was hurriedly dressing, the recent moments between them still fresh in her mind. Her movements were rushed and awkward, and when she looked up and met Enel’s gaze, she quickly looked away, her cheeks flushed.
She felt conflicted. Even though Enel was the reincarnation of Lenny, her king, the events from earlier blurred the lines in a way that left her deeply unsettled. She didn’t know how to reconcile her role as his mother with what they had shared.
But Enel didn’t linger on her unease. His focus was razor-sharp. "You’re coming with me," he said simply, his tone leaving no room for argument. He sent another mental command to his sister, Lana, instructing her to join him as well.
Moments later, Enel, Allison, and Lana piled into a sleek, heavily armored rover. The vehicle roared to life, its wheels gripping the uneven terrain as it sped out of the city gates and into the wild expanse of the Plane. The untamed landscape stretched endlessly before them, jagged rocks and dense, otherworldly foliage illuminated by the faint glow of the distant horizon.
Inside the rover, Enel’s mind raced, piecing together the fragments of what he had seen and heard. If the invader had avoided Vandora, it was not a mindless beast. It was calculating, intelligent, and brazen enough to challenge a fortified human city.
The question was why.
The rover’s engine growled as they pushed deeper into the Plane, each moment bringing them closer to an answer—and, definitely a fight.
Lana gripped the wheel tightly, her sharp eyes scanning the rough terrain ahead. "Alright, brother," she called over the growl of the rover’s engine. "Where are we headed?"
Enel leaned forward in his seat, his crimson eyes locking on a faint trail in the distance. He pointed toward it with a calm certainty. "There. Away from the tendrils."
Lana arched a brow. "That’s not where the tendrils were coming from. Why that direction?"
Enel’s lips curled into a knowing smirk. "Because when Tomato and I were out earlier, the ones who ambushed us came from this area. Whoever’s pulling the strings—they’re either close by or have left traces."
Lana said nothing further, focusing on navigating the rugged terrain. The rover’s wheels crunched over jagged rocks and patches of coarse grass.
Before long, a settlement appeared on the horizon. It was modest, built into the uneven landscape with structures made of wood and stone. As the armored trunk approached, the reaction was immediate.
The inhabitants began grunting in alarm, a guttural language that sounded almost like a series of growls and howls. Mothers clutched their young ones tightly to their chests, turning and running toward the shelter of the settlement’s larger structures. Their primitive clothing, made of tree bark and animal skins, flapped as they moved.

Enel’s sharp gaze swept over them. Their movements were coordinated, protective—a clear indication that these people, for all their primitive appearance, were no strangers to danger.
Meanwhile, a group of men stepped forward, their faces hardened with determination. They carried crude weapons—spears tipped with sharpened stone and bows strung with rough cord.
Allison moved instinctively, her hands glowing faintly as she prepared to summon her power, but she paused when Enel raised a hand to stop her.
"Hold," he said firmly, stepping out of the rover. His boots crunched against the dry ground as he strode forward, his presence commanding.
The air grew tense as the villagers shifted uneasily, gripping their weapons tighter. Enel stopped a few paces away from the armed group, his voice booming with authority. "I know someone among you understands my words. Step forward now, or I’ll flatten this place to dust."
