A sharp, mocking laughter tore through the expanse of space, echoing with an unnatural resonance that sent shivers down every spine.

The sound carried with it an oppressive dread, and when they turned to look, the source of the laughter was revealed.

In the distance, Belakor and hordes of demons from the royal demon families surged forth, their forms a chaotic display of terrifying variety.

Wrath demons with hulking, fiery frames left trails of flames in their wake, their molten skin cracking with every step. Greed demons, clad in gold and shimmering jewels, bore clawed hands that seemed to grasp endlessly at the void, their eyes glinting with insatiable hunger. Gluttony demons lumbered forward, grotesque and bloated, their mouths filled with countless rows of jagged teeth, devouring anything unfortunate enough to cross their path.

And the demons of destruction were perhaps the most chilling—a twisted blend of sharp, jagged edges and pulsing shadows that seemed to consume the light around them.

Some of the demons rode atop hell beasts, monstrous creatures with multiple heads, leathery wings, and bodies bristling with spikes. Others marched forward unaided, their sheer malevolence enough to inspire terror.

The space itself seemed to darken as their horde advanced, and an oppressive weight pressed down on all who beheld them.

Belakor chuckled loudly, "Did you miss me... I surely did."

Enel’s eyes narrowed. One glance was all it took to understand why they had come. "The spies," he murmured to himself.

His decision to kill the infiltrators within the city had not gone unnoticed. The royal demon families had sensed their loss and now came to not only exact revenge but also take them.

But the timing couldn’t have been worse.

Far behind them, the eye that had consumed the plane was now beginning to devour itself.

The strange phenomenon was no less terrifying—it pulsated and twisted inward, collapsing in on itself with an eerie hum that grew louder with each second.

The very fabric of reality seemed to ripple in its presence, and its pull remained as dangerous as ever.

Victor moved quickly, his hands weaving a series of complex gestures in the air. Glowing seals materialized around the city, their light flickering with an ethereal glow. The seals shimmered in place, forming a protective dome.

Enel glanced at the seals, his expression grim. "If your plan is for these seals to protect the city from what’s coming, I have bad news for you," he said. "It won’t work."

Enel was far more adept at runes. He coukd see their fault and capability in one look.

Victor’s gaze remained steady. "I know," he admitted, his voice resolute. "But the city is far more capable than you think. All we need is to get its systems online."

He pulled a bracelet from his wrist and tossed it to Enel, who caught it with a frown.

Victor’s voice was calm but commanding as he spoke to the bracelet in a language of ancient codes. "By my authority, I transfer leadership of the city to Enel."

The bracelet glowed faintly, emitting a series of mechanical clanking sounds as it sprang to life. It latched onto Enel’s wrist with a metallic click, and in an instant, an overwhelming surge of information flooded his mind.

He saw the city’s true nature—a masterpiece of combined magic and technology. The city was no mere structure; it was a colossal mechanical crab with its legs folded beneath it.

Enel didn’t waste a moment. Through the bracelet, he issued a command, and the city responded.

With a deafening groan, the crab legs unfolded, extending outward in a series of intricate mechanical movements. Each leg was covered in glowing runes, humming with energy. The sight was mesmerizing—a seamless blend of ancient magic and advanced engineering. The runes flared as the legs moved, propelling the city upward with a powerful burst of energy.

A deep rumble followed as the propulsion system activated. Streams of glowing energy erupted from the legs, pushing the city forward like a massive spacecraft breaking free from the atmosphere.

The mechanical legs moved in perfect harmony, each step a calculated surge that sent the city further from danger.

Victor hovered in the air, watching as the city ascended. His expression was firm, his resolve unwavering.

He turned to face the oncoming horde of demons, his voice echoing with authority. "You all go to safety," he commanded. "I’ll handle the horde."

He raised his hand, and the air around him shimmered with raw energy. "Let’s see if the royal families are as fearsome as their reputation," he said with a smirk, his tone filled with defiance.

As the city rose higher, Victor flew toward the advancing horde, his figure glowing like a beacon against the encroaching darkness.

The demons’ mocking laughter turned into roars of rage, and the battle was about to begin.

As Victor hovered in the air, preparing to face the incoming horde of demons, a sudden shout broke through the tension.

"Victor!" Enel’s voice was sharp and urgent.

Victor turned mid-air, confusion etched on his face. "What is it?"

Enel didn’t answer right away. Instead, he turned to Tomato, who was still standing on Vandora’s massive back, her tail swaying with a cocky rhythm.

"Tomato!" Enel bellowed. "Hurry up and give it to him!"

Tomato’s grin widened as understanding flickered in her crimson eyes. "Oh, I know exactly what you mean!" she shouted back, her tone laced with amusement.

In an instant, she leaped off Vandora’s back, her movements fluid and unrestrained. Her first jump landed her gracefully on the city’s platform, and with another powerful spring, she launched herself straight toward Victor.

Victor’s brows furrowed in confusion. "What is she—"

Before he could finish his thought, Tomato was upon him. Her fist glowed faintly, charged with her devilish power. She cocked her arm back, her grin spreading wider. "This one’s long overdue!"

CRACK!

Her punch landed squarely on Victor’s face with the force of a thunderclap.

The impact reverberated through the air, and Victor staggered to the side, coughing as blood spilled from his lips. His cheek swelled almost instantly, and a faint trail of smoke curled from the spot where her fist had connected.

Tomato floated there, her hands on her hips, looking entirely too pleased with herself. "That’s for betraying us!" she declared, her voice brimming with pride.

Victor wiped the blood from his mouth with the back of his hand. He nodded, his expression calm despite the searing pain. "Fair," he said simply.

Tomato raised an eyebrow and tapped her chin in mock thought. "You know, I’d give you another one, but…" Her grin turned mischievous. "…I figure the demons will take care of that for me."

Victor couldn’t help but smirk, despite himself.

Without another word, Tomato balled her fist again and threw a punch toward the vast expanse of space. The sheer force of the punch acted as a propellant, sending her hurtling backward through the air.

She flipped gracefully, landing back on the city with ease, her smirk as confident as ever.

Victor watched her return, shaking his head slightly. He closed his eyes for a moment, centering himself. When he opened them again, they burned with renewed determination.

The time for action had come.
