Demon Tamer's Ascension-Chapter 12: The Next Morning...
"Alright, enough fooling around, time to go to sleep, I’ll leave the Evolutionary pathways for later." Alex said, "I’ll keep you outside, Adoff, and you, Victor, just shut up and go to bed."
"Alright," both of them responded, "But treat your elders with respect," Adoff said.
"Yeah, that’s my bad."
And then, he rested, thinking of his next choice.
’Yes.’
The command clicked.

[Leave Evolutionary Pathways For Later?]
└ Yes or No?
└ [Yes] Selected!
[Leaving Evolutionary Pathways For Later!]

...
8:00 AM, December 7th, Monday.
The morning sun’s warm light spread across Alex’s room, slipping past the curtains that covered the window.
Ever since he was a kid, he had always been a heavy sleeper; that was just the way he was, so even now, he didn’t show any signs of waking up.
But this time, he wasn’t alone, because the snores seemed too loud to be coming from one person.
It was Adoff as well. Both of them were sleeping, their hair and fur messed up by the constant movements they unconsciously made while in their deep slumber.
’I’m ready to go,’ Victor thought, ’I had a good night’s rest, plus, Demons don’t need much sleep.’
Even though Victor seems like he doesn’t do much, his body can barely handle the work behind the scenes. He has to continuously store [Demonic Core Strength] properly so that the system interfaces stay active, because if he didn’t...
That would mean the death of not just Alex, but also himself, Adoff included.
The snores became louder, but Victor didn’t pay them much heed; he didn’t think they were that annoying.
"Huhhhhhhh!"
It felt as if Adoff and Alex’s sleep schedules were completely intertwined.
Different appearance, same mindset.
Then, three knocks tapped onto the wooden door, coming from outside.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Alex suddenly awoke, while Adoff remained asleep.
"W-what," he whispered, meeting the sun’s illuminating hot shine, "Already morning? Yeah, I’ll sleep some more."
Alex flapped the blanket over him, sliding it downwards from Adoff.
"Huh?" Adoff finally awoke, blinking continuously, "It’s the morning, and you’re starting with this?"
Adoff snatched the grey blanket with his teeth, trying to pull it back.
Alex looked back at him, "You have your fucking fur, I got an emptiness cocoon, let me be."
"How dare you disrespect my lovely fur like that! You truly have no respect." Adoff pulled Alex back up with such brute force that it felt unreal. "This is mine for the taking."
In that moment, Alex looked down and sneered, "Oh, is it?"
"No..." Adoff telepathically said quietly, dropping the sheet of comfort back onto Alex’s lap, "You wouldn’t dare."
"Just who do you think I am?" Alex questioned it, and soon, things started to change.
"Oh, thought so-"
"Take him away."
In that moment, the grey wolf Alex had made such a questionable relationship with in one single night began dispersing into mere particles. Not ones in death, but it was more like Adoff was taken back into his home.

[Grey Wolf’s Name]
└ Adoff
[Position]
└ Away
[Side Note]
└ The F-Ranked creature is unable to listen or speak to you while taken away.

"That should do the trick."
Bang!
The door from outside slammed open, and Alex blinked a couple of times, then averted his gaze to the entrance.
"Which creature do we have today?"
He yawned, rolling his eyes around to see who was at the front door of his inn.
"O-oh," Alex stuttered, scratching his hair from the right side, "What’s up, Cassie?"
Even in the leather armor suit she had put on, Cassie still looked as gorgeous and plump as ever. Her hair was tied in a bun, and she looked prepared, too prepared.
"You going somewhere?" Alex asked, still wondering why she randomly stormed his room.
"Good morning, Alex," she said, kindly, "But it’s time I take you to sign up for the academy entrance exam."
"That’s today?"
"Yes."
"Like, right now?"
"Precisely."
"At this second?"
"You’re right."
"And, this can’t be postponed to later?"
It took Cassie quite a while to get dressed, and at this hour, the streets are always the most lively.
"Sorry, but it’s not possible."
"And, why’s that?"
Cassie smiled gently, scratching the side of her head with a nervous expression, "Well, you see... they close early on Mondays."
’Terrible lie and pocker face, but I’ll follow along.’ Alex thought, "Alright, I’ll be there in a second, just let me change and take a shower."
She nodded elegantly, closing the door right after.
"Few, that was a close one," Cassie whispered, beautifully walking down the stairs again.
...
Time had passed, and it was now 8:20 AM. It took him only twenty minutes to finish getting ready.
He was at the front door, awaiting Cassie, who had just remembered she needed to get something from the back before coming along.
"So sorry about that," she came rushing back in, clenching her fist tightly, "Well, let’s go."
Alex smiled, "You take the lead."
And with that, the door opened wide, and the sun from above shone brightly below. Street vendors argued with each other to grab more customers, while lines stretched up to ten meters across nearly every store.
Adventurers with cheap and rich gear came along, awaiting their extra party members in the ’Center.’
The waterfall statue continued to pour endlessly into the smoothstone ring that circled it.
Creatures, each one from a different race, followed along with their master: some large, some small, and some average.
And, some other average stuff, I guess you could say...
Alex followed Cassie from behind, who was clearly stepping towards the ’Center,’ probably to navigate where to go next. The ’Center’ does, in fact, separate all four main pathways across BeastFall Capital.
And that’s when Alex noticed it.
"Oh, shit," he whispered out loud.
"What’s up?" Victor asked.
He looked directly at a beautiful and commanding woman. "It’s her again."
It was definitely that same woman. Red hair brushing down just below her chest, red eyes sparkling underneath the sunlight, and a tough posture. A stance that showed how mentally strong she truly is.
"Who’s that?"
"My ex-fiancé."
