Chapter 48: Chapter 48: Disappeared.

Adrian led Sam into the woods out of the city, he wanted to test his strength and for that, they needed to be far from other people’s eyes.

Frankly, he was disappointed, although Sam was strong, his real power was in his speed, in terms of physical strength or durability he was very weak.

However the disappointing part was that because he was an omega, he couldn’t transform into a full werewolf form at will.

That severely limited his strength, even so, he was stronger than all of the Fayera Adrian had taught.

With the exception of old man Berry, that is before he learnt how to use his esper energy and awaken his abilities. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

After measuring the strength level of Sam, he decided to go back home but then a cyclone of black smoke appeared Infront of him.

Out came the demon, it bowed in his direction. " Master." The demon greeted, Sam was so startled he jumped back 4 metres and growled like a dog.

The demon merely gave him a side glance before turning towards Adrain. " Have you got anything for me?" He asked.

The demon bowed even lower," Forgive master, procuring the information you want will take time."

His face grew dark, the demon noticed and she rushed to continue lest he get angry.

" But I have managed to insert myself to working under lord Abarog, given time I’m certain I can infiltrate the inner circle."

He calmed down a little but waited for her to continue, she looked up and saw the impatience in his eyes and panicked.

The truth was, she had accepted that her life was fully in his hands, even now she could feel the venom ravaging her insides.

In fact she had tried to find a cure in hell or a higher level demon who can remove both the venom and the binding rune.

Unfortunately with her current power and status, she couldn’t even see higher ranked demons let alone request anything of them.

All she managed to do was get an audience with a level 3 unnamed demon but even he failed.

He refused to help after receiving the prize but she could tell it was because he didn’t want to admit he couldn’t.

So here she was trying her best to please the man in front of her.

" How long?" He asked, his voice came out cold making her shiver with dread. " How long with it take you to get close to him?’

She kept quiet but she knew if she didn’t answer, things aren’t going to go well for her so she had to come up with something.

She couldn’t say a period that was too long, that would be dangerous but she also couldn’t say a period that was too short lest she fails.

" One year, in one year I can get you the information you need." She answered as fast as she could, afraid if she delayed she might die.

Adrian nodded, " Very well." He cut his wrist and gave her the antidote. He only fed her enough blood to last a month.

In one month she would have to come back for more. The demon disappeared and Sam appeared next to him.

" What the fuck man, what the hell was that?" He asked still shaking, his instincts told him that thing was dangerous.

To him the demon really was dangerous, even Adrain needed to go full wolf to take it down, level 2 was no joke.

The two of them went back home but found Meggie was not there, Adrian found a letter and opened it.

" Adrian this is Meggie, some things have come up and I’ll be gone for some time, I can’t tell you how long or where I’m going.

I’ve prepared a bath for your friend, it’s a cloaking potion, tell him to soak in it for the whole night.

There’s a bank card in the kitchen cabinet, use it to buy food and everything you need and there are 20 black elk coins in a shelf in my room, use them wisely.

Also, I’ve left a potion for you in the fridge, drink it today please, it will keep you safe while I’m gone

Remember, I love you." The letter ended there, Adrian’s face was scowling with confusion and rage.

Not because of the letter itself but because of a flood of memories that just came rushing in.

These memories were blurry and hard to make out, they were about his earlier years, him, his sister and his mother.

His father was in the background doing something while their mother was attending to them.

However the mother in his memories had black hair instead of the blond he remembers.

Adrain felt a splitting headache, he rushed to the fridge to drink milk and found a glass vial with a milky white liquid.

He drank all of it and the headache subsided, then he fell down and fainted.

Meggie felt something and looked back towards the city then turned around and walked off.

She hired a boat and sailed to the ocean until night came and the moon hanged above like a chandelier.

Mist rose in front of the boat and covered the sea for as far as the eye could sea. Meggie walked to the edge of the boat.

" Lady, lady what are you doing, it’s dangerous come back." One of the crew members shouted at her.

Before any of them could say anything else they saw something inconceivable, the mist suddenly sprung up and rose to the sky like a wall.

They stood there dumbfounded, Meggie jumped off the boat before they found stop her and went through the wall of mist.

" Shit, follow her, we need to find her." The captain shouted and sailed the boat through the wall of mist.

However the mist wall was so thin the boat went on the other side almost immediately but there were no signs of her.

They searched around and still did not find her, they called authorities and reported what had happened.

Before long a group of officials appeared and the case was left to them, the crew was taken for questioning.

But to the amazement of others, when they came back none of them knew what the others were talking about.

It was as if they had completely forgotten the entire affair, all of them except one.
