Demon Lord: Erotic Adventure in Another World-Chapter 779: The True Mastermind
Asmodeus looked over his shoulder at the smouldering ruins with a forlorn expression. He shook his head and turned away.
’There’s no way it could be this easy...’
The cave didn’t collapse, and ever since he initially noticed it, that strange atmosphere didn’t occur a second time.
’Those two weren’t the Abyssal.’
Of this, he was sure.
Valena stood in her human form, watching him with a smirk.
"There you are, master, how did it go?"
"What do you mean exactly? Killing the fake origin Abyssal or the half-truths they seemed to know about the real ones."
Her eyes brightened. "As expected of my master, you found out?"
"Listen here, you..."
He walked towards her, blasting more aura the closer he came.
The dragon quickly raised her arms in surrender and even swung her tail like a white flag.
"Master, don’t be angry, I’ll tell you what I mean!"
Asmodeus held his anger and tilted his hands, "Explain."
"Come closer." Valena shrugged and beckoned for him to sit next to her in an annoying fashion.
He shook his head and sat on the small seat, although comfortable, he wanted to rush outside as soon as possible.
"So, why did you pretend to get wounded and act weak earlier? Depending on your damn answer, I will pluck all those fine ruby scales of yours and toss you out naked."
The dragon recoiled while hugging her shoulders and quaking.
"Ahh!?"
Valena played along with his brutal threat and began to talk about what she sensed before becoming free of Grundig’s control. It didn’t take long for her to start speaking about the situation.
"My previous captor hated working with other people."
"Really, he seems quite fine to me..."
"No, those people are all under his control, anyway, that’s not important. I didn’t know if it was a fake memory or not at first. But the existence you sensed when first coming here, the actual abyssal soon moved his true body, after learning about you from Grundig."
"What do you mean, true body?"
Asmodeus cocked his head to the side, curious as he knew little to nothing about the Abyssals other than what he learned thanks to Mephisto and Alan.
"I know they can take hosts."
Valena held up her hand, forming a cross with her fingers’ tips.
"No, that’s not quite correct. Master."
"Hm?"
"That power was specific to the Abyssal you fought, although they cannot use divine domains. I have knowledge that the Abyssals created their own version, called a territory."
"Territory? What’s the difference?"
To Asmodeus, it was just the same thing but with a different name, but he still waited for the dragon to tell him.
"The powers are similar, but definitely different. I thought you might have noticed since you’ve fought inside both now." Valena curled her lips and pushed out her long lizard tongue. "Heh."
’I’ve stood in both...’
He tried to think, putting together the differences, but when fighting Ein, it felt "Absolute" as if no matter what he did, it felt impenetrable. In comparison, the spider and her mate didn’t have that feeling.
So he went with that.
"The only thing I can say is that Domains feel almost absolute."
"Oho?" Valena scooted closer, her plump cheeks squished against the seat, creating an incredibly obvious and alluring curve. "That’s quite an interesting way to put it. Also, pretty accurate."
"Tsk! Don’t get too cocky now."
Pah!
Asmodeus slapped her provocative buttocks.
"So tell me the differences."
"Y-You?!" Valena flared her nostrils, blowing smoke and flame as she pointed at him with one hand, holding her ass with the other. "Well, whatever... it didn’t feel that bad actually..."
She snapped her finger, creating two spells.
One shaped like a person, the other like a box.
"You see, a Domain originates from the caster, no matter what type or shape it takes, this allows the domain to move, adjust and conform to the caster’s will almost instinctively." She peeked at Asmodeus and then his hand before asking. "Have you noticed, sometimes you thought, ’it’d be great if this happened. Or if I could do that.’ With your domain?"
She watched him intently, while Asmodeus closed his eyes.
He tried to ignore her, but his skin tingled wherever her gaze paused.
However, the answer to her question came sooner than he thought, as he nodded and returned her passionate gaze.
"Well, I can think of a few times."
"Mhm, then tell me."
"Why?"
"Because I want to know more about my master?"
"Heh, you’re such a liar."
"Fufu! I am a dragon. Would a dragon lie to a mere mortal?"
"I’m not going to be mortal forever..."
"...tsk, damn."
She raised her tail, swinging it again. "Okay, okay, I surrender, but can’t you tell me, please?" Her eyes opened wide, brimming with fake tears as she held he hands together. "I really want to know."
After the disgusting ick the spider gave him, a cosy warmth expanded from his chest as he spoke to Valena. ’...this is kinda fun.’
"When we arrived back here, and I dealt with Nerim, at that moment, I thought. "It’d be great if my domain could slow time to the very limit outside, but increase time for my body to boost regeneration and recovery."
"What?"
Valena’s jaw dropped.
"That’s your answer, what else do you want?"
"I was expecting something exciting from a battle or some difficult situation... but for sex?! Why are you humans so obsessed with that damn annoying process anyway?!"
Her little cheek scales flushed red as she spoke on the brink of shouting, even now, the domain hiding most of their conversation and actions from the outside world.
"Because it feels amazing."
"...eh? Does it feel that good? Most of the women I met with Grundig seemed to hate it, saying they would rather not."
Asmodeus wondered what type of women thought that way. ’No, everyone is different. I shouldn’t judge.’ So he didn’t say anything and instead asked. "Which women?"
"The women who got sparkling coins whenever they slept with men!"
Valena’s eyes sparkled as she spoke.
"Hey, why are your eyes beaming like that?"
"Hmmm? Are they... oh my how embarrassing." Velana covered her lips that leaked drool.
"What’s making you so excited?"
He truly didn’t understand why she seemed so agitated about some women who sold their bodies. But then again, she wasn’t human or demon but a dragon, so how the hell would he know?
"Fufu, didn’t you know?! They lie down and shake a little for a few minutes and get a whole pouch of golden shinies!"
"What.."
"I said they get a whole pouch of—"
"No, no, I get that. But what makes that so exciting?!"
Valena looked at him with furrowed brows, her little scales twinkling in the light from the cave’s gemstones. "So I can fill my lair with them!"
Lair?
Shiny things?
’Oh... Now it makes sense.’
He didn’t have much knowledge about dragons, but the novels he read did mention they kept hoards of treasure and gemstones in their lairs, some even used it as their bed.
’And should one take a dragon’s treasure, it would spell disaster.’
"Okay, well, if you want shinies like that, then don’t do those dirty jobs. If you sleep with me, I’ll give you as many as you want."
He tried to trick her.
But the dragon just gave him a dead look.
"... I’m not that stupid, Master."
"Well, I tried, let’s get back to the point."
Asmodeus’s exhaustion from the battle recovered a short while ago, so he wanted to head to the entrance quickly.
"Mm, well, okay. The domain is something that can change and is quite flexible to the master’s demands or desires."
She then pressed her finger on Asmodeus’s nose and grinned.
"However! When it comes to the territory created by the Abyssal creatures. They set the parameters when it’s first made, and those cannot change, evolve or adapt."
He closed his eyes, putting the information together, a formless and adaptive zone versus a static area that would perform the duties required and nothing else.
"Hold on. Is that why that black webbing was so linear, and once she broke it, all she could do was fling it at me?"
"Mhm."
"Then why did you take that weak male’s blow?" He couldn’t understand, but then his eyes flashed. "You broke through the wall, supposed to be a domain, but it didn’t heal or adapt. Is that what you wanted to test?"
"Mhm."
Asmodeus tapped his chin, then asked.
"But why? Since we were fighting an abyssal, it goes without saying they’d use a territory, right?"
"Close!"
"What?!"
She swayed her body temptingly as she leaned closely, resting her chin on his shoulder. "Master, or Master... do you truly think that a normal Abyssal can compare to an original?"
"...so annoying."
Pah!
Once again, he slapped her fine, plump ass.
"Ouch!"
"Stop with the useless chatter, and don’t dare tell me it’s because the originals can use both a Domain and Territory at the same time, or else I will slap your fat behind until it’s the same colour as your scales!"
Valena’s jaw dropped once again.
"Master, how did you figure it out?! I’m so impressed!"
She clapped slowly while narrowing her eyes.
"Valena, don’t push it."
"Y-Yes Master."
Asmodeus squeezed the bridge of his nose, wondering if taking on this damn dragon and ghost would be the death of him.
"Then why did those two believe they were an origin? It doesn’t make sense that way."
"You said the answer earlier, master."
"I did?"
He couldn’t think what it could be, while looking back through the bizarre conversation, he finally remembered. "Is it related to the Abyssal who can switch bodies?"
"Mhm, and Grundig, or the Abyssal he’s hosting inside him. Do you remember what power it had?"
"I see! The power to mesmerise others, even a dragon."
But did that also mean the words spoken by Zazel were true? What if he just borrowed the persona and words of the true Abyssal? ’I won’t get answers asking myself... Let’s find the culprit.’
"Come on, Valena, we’re going to fight!"
"Okay! I like fighting."
The two jumped off the seat and rushed towards the entrance side-by-side, most of the crowd now long gone.
