Chapter 190: Chapter 190: The Hunt (Extra chapter for alliance leader Ear Big Attracts Wind!)
In the dark forest, a group of people were moving forward at a brisk pace.
“I’ll kill you, I’m going to kill you!”

After a loud roar, Arlo suddenly sat up from the stretcher.
Spurt!
Her wound burst open, and she couldn’t help spitting out a large mouthful of fresh blood.
“Miss Arlo, mind your injuries,”
a voice came through. For some reason, this voice was always filled with cautious flattery on any other day, but now, to Arlo’s ears, it seemed to carry a hint of faint mockery.
Mockery, whom was he mocking?
“You’re feeling quite pleased with yourself, aren’t you, Joseph?”
Arlo’s voice was low, “Do you think if I died, the teacher would take you on as his disciple?”
“Don’t delude yourself; with your status, you have no chance.”
“What about Roger? Bring me his head!”
She seemed to want to turn around, but the violent movement tore her wound further, and she winced in pain, reluctantly stopping.
Bowing her head, Arlo’s entire upper body was exposed to the air, revealing a ghastly wound from her scapula down to her ribcage.
The blood around the wound had been stopped, and if there was ample light, one could even see the pale fat, the pink muscles, and the exposed bone stubs.
A bunch of tiny bugs crawled around the wound, secreting something from their bodies, and were quickly repairing Arlo’s injuries.
“Hurry up and bring me his head!”
“I’m sorry, Miss Arlo,” Joseph’s voice was still unhurried.
“You were critically injured, and the situation was urgent; it was not wise to delay, so we covered your retreat from the battle and then hurried to tend to your wounds.”
Joseph cracked a slight smile.
“Miss Arlo, you should be thankful to me, at least I’ve kept that bit of stuff on your chest for you.”
“As a woman, you wouldn’t want an extra hole in your chest, would you?”
Joseph’s words were no longer as cautious as before.
A Witch whose witch body had been breached had her potential nearly locked; this woman before him had no prospect of advancing further.
A Waning Moon Witch in her twenties might still retain some value, but a Waning Moon Witch in her thirties or forties was almost indistinguishable from trash.
“What?”
Arlo’s vision darkened, and she was so angry that she nearly spat out another mouthful of fresh blood.
“You actually let him go?”
“I was considering your safety,”
Joseph said unhurriedly, but his attitude now was fanning the flames of Arlo’s anger.
“Don’t be too smug. Even with a broken witch body, I have ways to recover. Besides, to become the teacher’s disciple isn’t just about gaining the teacher’s consent.”
“There’s also Julianne, the candidate for the next Voodoo Queen…”
“Miss Arlo, you’re overthinking it,”
Joseph interrupted Arlo’s words.
“For us, what’s most important is to figure out how those guys showed up here?”
“The queen’s plan can’t afford to fail, and you are the main person responsible for the operation…”
Arlo seemed to realize something.
“Did you deliberately let them go?”
“How dare you!”
“Of course I didn’t!”
Joseph shook his head.
“It’s just a coincidence. There’s still an entrance here that we aren’t aware of; they must have stumbled in while we were entering this place.”
“The entire Cursed Land is now sealed off; they can’t escape.”
“We won’t even need to lift a finger next; they’ll die on their own during the exploration.”
Joseph appeared confident.
“The Cursed Land is still expanding; the factory and the nearby woods must have only formed recently.”
“We have to hurry, the larger the area, the more potential exits there will be, and covering up this place will become increasingly difficult.”
“This is an exceptionally unique place, missing this opportunity, we will find it difficult to find conditions to negotiate with the Hunters Guild.”
“Miss Arlo, I hope you can understand that everything should be prioritized for the greater good.”
Joseph looked down from on high at Arlo, who lay on a stretcher, a smirk on his handsome face, his posture suggesting that he was the true orchestrator here.
“Tsk, tsk,”
“Such a large scar, what a pity.”
Joseph stared at the wound on Arlo’s upper body and let out a strange chuckle.
The more he thought about it, the more excited he became. After lying dormant for so many years, it was finally his turn to rise.
But at that moment, a series of whooshing sounds pierced the air.
Thud thud thud!
Several of his companions clutched their necks and fell, while Arlo rolled off the stretcher onto the ground, her wound reopening. Simultaneously, a shadow darted out, the Steel Sword in hand aiming for Arlo on the ground.
“Who’s there?!”
Joseph’s face blanched. Although he didn’t like Arlo, she couldn’t be allowed to die in front of him. Instinctively, he stepped forward and flicked a dark wand from his sleeve.
But the anticipated collision never occurred; as the Steel Sword fell, the attacker’s strike wavered ever so slightly, then, with rapid movement of the feet, the sword followed the wand upwards.
Piercing toward Joseph’s throat!
“He’s targeting me!”
In the glint of the cold light, he recognized the face of his attacker.
“You?!”
He never would have thought that after his team had paid such a heavy price, this young man would follow and launch an attack on them!
Whoosh!
A snake suddenly shot out from Joseph’s collar, coiled up, and then, straightening like a sword, aimed for Roger’s face.
“If I’m going to die, we’ll all die together!”
A savage look flashed in Joseph’s eyes. Roger felt he had seen this scenario on someone before.
With no time to think, he flicked his wrist and reduced the leaping snake to shreds, while at the same time, Joseph widened the distance between himself and Roger.
“Attack!”
Drenched in cold sweat, he could no longer concern himself with Arlo’s life or death. The previous fight had given Joseph a clear insight into Roger’s strength.
If the distance was closed, this young Demon Hunter had the ability to kill a Waning Moon level Wizard!
The control over the snake, the mad and fearless fighting style – this man reminded Roger of the one-armed woman who accompanied Mansu.
They possibly came from the same school.
The others around him finally reacted, charging frantically at Roger.
Facing their assault, Roger retreated, and after a few jumps, he vanished into the bushes.
Having missed his strike, he chose to distance himself.
“Come back!”
Joseph’s expression shifted, but in that instant, a glint of cold light flashed in the darkness, and a Witch fell, clutching her throat.
“Damn it, he’s hunting us!”
Joseph cursed under his breath, ordering several thick-skinned Voodoo Zombies to guard the perimeter while gesturing for the remaining Witches to quickly lift the wailing Arlo off the ground and run towards the distance.
Roger watched from afar, aware that the combined power of a group of Witches could be formidable, creating a Mental Disturbance that even he couldn’t break through.
But if they were alone and their Voodoo Zombies couldn’t stop Roger, then it would only be their deaths.
The night grew thicker.
Roger was confident he could leave everyone behind in this forest!
