Demon Hunter and His Cabin-Chapter 1001 - 728: Target, Border
Chapter 1001: Chapter 728: Target, Border
Havier sat in the room, feeling quite at ease.
At this moment, his spirit was immensely relaxed. Rather than completely possessing the other party, he enjoyed more the anticipation of tasting the fruit during the waiting process.
Some things remain unsaid; in the noble past, many similar transactions took place. He had spoken clearly enough, and Chloe’s attitude had displayed everything.
He stood up and walked to the window, gently pulling aside the curtains, letting the bright moonlight spill onto the floor. The matters at Green Castle Manor were progressing according to his expectations.
The family had suffered some losses, and he personally had undergone a bit of ordeal, but none of those mattered. He had successfully escaped that enormous vortex, which allowed him time and mood to come here.
"Should I be gentle or cruel later?"
An evil smile appeared at the corners of his mouth; Havier suddenly remembered the meaningful gaze Chloe’s idiot brother had given him on his way up.
"The sibling relationship between them is surprisingly good, haha..."
Dark thoughts surfaced in his mind, but just then, a soft sound came from the door, and Havier turned around in surprise, his expression suddenly changing.
"It’s you?!"
Followed by a cold laugh.
"Are you worried about your sister, or do you want to join in too?"
He looked at Roger standing at the door, asking mockingly.
Click.
Roger casually closed the door.
Chloe had deliberately avoided Havier and was bathing in another room, trying hard to delay the time with the excuse of needing preparations.
Roger steadied himself, his eyes fixed on Havier. Slowly, the lightness in Havier’s eyes faded, gaining a hint of subtle gravity.
Very strange.
Then he saw the thin young man in front stepping forward, first one step, then the second, and the third.
At first, he hadn’t noticed anything unusual, but after three steps, the light footsteps seemed to imprint themselves deep inside his heart. What’s more terrifying, the young man before him appeared as a phantom in his eyes.
Silver light flourished in his eyes. Instinctively, Havier burst forth with force, and Roger saw a flourishing flame burning in his silver pupils.
But with the next few steps, Roger’s strides were not large, yet moved extremely fast, his figure gliding as though dancing, and Havier realized he had lost sight of him.
Feeling a crisis, he frantically urged his body’s power, but his perception was in chaos as if dragged into the Abyss.
"You brought this upon yourself."
When Roger reached Havier, the power he had accumulated was simultaneously unleashed, transforming into the Axis Sword Seal.
In fact, from the moment Roger pushed the door, the attack had already begun.
Roger’s eyes flashed like lightning, shooting out a sharp gleam. The power of the Axis Sword Seal pierced deep into Havier’s soul.
Havier was drenched in sweat, his eyes bulging, desperately opening his mouth but unable to utter any sound. Just then, a barrier suddenly appeared at the core of his soul.
Spirit Wall.
Facing this barrier, Roger could directly crush it with his formidable Soul Power despite his soul being wounded, as the gap between them was too vast, making destruction easy.
But at the very last moment, Roger’s eyes glinted, the Axis Sword Seal vanished, enveloping Havier’s soul tightly like a net.
This guy indeed deserved to die, but dying here would certainly bring many troubles to Chloe. Concerning his fate, Roger had long set plans.
Having done all this, fatigue flashed through his eyes, and he quietly left the room.
As time passed bit by bit, Havier suddenly snapped out of his daze, hurriedly opened the door, and soon the sound of urgent hooves echoed outside, gradually fading away.
Before long, the door on the other side of the corridor opened, and Chloe emerged with damp short hair.
"What happened?"
She immediately spotted Roger standing in the middle of the corridor.
The moonlight stretched his originally slender silhouette longer, the white glow only illuminating half of Roger’s face.
It was the same face, yet at that moment Chloe felt an unfamiliarity stemming from within.
"Mr. Havier said he had some affairs to attend to, so he left."
Roger smiled.
"He’s truly a gentleman; before leaving, he told me everything today was just a joke and asked you not to worry."
"Gentleman? Joke?"
Chloe felt it was absurd.
Although appearing refined, rumors about Havier persisted, knowing he indulged in twisted desires and even more distorted was the damage he wrought upon each victim’s mind.
She was prepared for sacrifice but hadn’t expected to escape the clutches at the critical moment.
Her body grew weak, a wave of inexhaustible fatigue surged from deep within, instinctively pressing against the nearby wall to support her trembling body.
Surprisingly, she hadn’t even noticed some fresh blood seeping from the corners of her mouth.
Roger sighed, slowly walked to Chloe, placing a bottle of golden-orange reagent into her hand.
"You’re injured, try this."
"What is this?"
Chloe was initially confused but quickly turned angry, raising her hand abruptly, and the reagent smashed onto the wall not far away.
