Aaron was just as shocked as the reporters were when Brooke admitted that she was Ethan’s ex-wife, something she intentionally left out of the emergency meeting they had yesterday.

As predicted, the press went into a wild frenzy, bombarding her with questions.

"When did you and your husband divorce?"

"What were the conditions involved?"

"Can you share the details of the reason behind the divorce?"

The questions kept pouring in, he looked to director Lee, who was busy trying to signal the security around to escort the reporters outside.

Brooke cleared her throat, then said into the mic, "We separated early this year," she started off, her calm tone of voice gave the press the reassurance that she was not planning on avoiding their questions.

"As for the conditions, we didn’t sign on any form to paperwork for alimony or a non-disclosure agreement, so I am at full liberty to discuss our divorce." she reached for the bottle of water and took a sip out of it.

Her composed demeanor impressed Aaron, he was worried the interview had gone to shit, but she was handling things quite well.

"And, pertaining the reason behind the divorce, you can take that up with my ex, if I say anything, people will think I’m trying to pull a fast one." she chuckled lightly, easing the atmosphere.

"Ethan, if you’re hearing this, then you’re free to comment on why we got divorced." she said, shifting the attention away from her to Ethan.

"Are there any more questions?" she implored them, an inviting smile on her face.

A man in the back row raised his hand, she gestured a staff member to hand him a mic. "Miss Larson, can you highlight on your current relationship to Mr Halton? You two were photographed coming out of a hotel room, on the night of your premiere. Is there any hope of you two getting re-married?"

Brooke listened carefully, before responding, "As of now, Ethan and I are simply just co-workers, actually, he was the one who approached me and asked if I was interested in re-joining prime-star agency as an actress. Those pictures were taken after we finished discussing business."

The reporter sharply interrogated, "But meeting with an engaged man alone? At a hotel no less? That isn’t very convincing."

Aaron spoke into his mic, "Can you be clearer with what it is you’re trying to insinuate here?" he challenged.

His commanding tone made the reporter shrink back, he knew just like the others to be selective with his words, one wrong sentence and he could be sued for character defamation.

Fortunately, Brooke answered, "To satisfy your curiosity, I was not alone with Mr Halton, I arrived at the hotel, after our cast’s after party with Damien. The hotel can release their parking lot security footage from that night. Damien himself can also clarify that he was with the both of us that night."

Aaron and Mr Lee were once again stunned by how conniving this woman was.

Not only did she shift the divorce matter to Ethan’s court, her statement was actively forcing Damien and the hotel into the scandal. ’With concrete evidence of Damien dropping her off at the hotel, his company has no choice but to clear her name.’ he looked at Brooke, at the warm smile that hid her calculating eyes.

He had a feeling this woman had been planning all this from the very beginning.

The reporter sat down, and then passed the mic to the woman sitting on his right, she stood up, "Miss Brooke, how do you respond to the previous allegations of Miss Cassie Crane? A while back, she had accused you of being a stalker and attacking her in her villa. We are yet to get a clarification from you. Was this before or after your divorce with Mr Halton?"

Mr Lee intervened, "This press conference is to clear the air between my talents, and Mr Halton’s issue. Cassie Crane has nothing to do with it." he shut her down, then shifted the conversation, "As we have earlier stated, Ethan Halton was trespassing on filming grounds, Aaron here, had no idea who he was and assumed he was harassing Brooke, which was why he attacked him."

Aaron forced a smile, "It was all a misunderstanding, and we hope Mr Halton does accept our apology. There are passes given to any visitor on set, Mr Halton had none, so I was rash in my conclusion."

They both entertained some more questions, drawing the press conference to a close. They thanked the reporters for coming, and updated them on the status of their ongoing drama.

Once they were gone, Brooke, Aaron and Lee had a quick meeting at a private room, with their PR team.

"Brooke, can you get Damien on the line? We need to meet with and confirm what statement his agency will give."

Brooke nodded, "I have his assistant’s number." she said.

"And the hotel, we expect they’ll reach out to us-"

Aaron cut them off, "Go there first! Before Ethan or anyone else tries to tamper with the security footage."

They nodded, "Yes, sir!"

But Brooke was calm, "They’ll release the footage of Damien dropping me off, they’ll also show the clip of Ethan and I meeting outside with Damien." she added.

Lee raised a brow, "How can you be so sure? What else are you hiding from us, Mrs Halton?" he hissed.

Ignoring his comment, she answered the question, "That’s because, the hotel has a big shot they would not dare to cross, not even for Ethan." she flashed back to the old man, the one Cassie had wanted her to meet that night.

A wicked grin plastered itself on her lips, "And I have a way to make good use of him." she said.

Aaron interjected, "And Ethan? What are we going to about him? Won’t he try and deny your marriage? Do you have any evidence that supports your claim?"

It was one thing to claim they were married, but it would completely ruin her career if she wasn’t able to back up her words.

But Brooke’s demeanor did not dampen, "Knowing Ethan, the last thing he’ll do is deny our marriage."

"And what makes you think so?" Aaron was not sold on her confidence.

Brooke pictured the pure envy in Ethan’s eyes when he saw her and Thane together, had Aaron not stepped in, he would’ve gone completely ballistic. "He definitely will make the first claim, he hates to loose, I can definitely count on that."
