Chapter 201: Chapter 201

The trio appeared in front of one of the quest boards, where the quests are posted.

The boards appeared to be less clustered than they were supposed to be. Reyna told them that they would be full of missions. Many times, mission posts are posted on each other.

Though Reyna didn’t take on a mission personally, she assisted her master, who took on a particular mission, which was done not just to teach Reyna, something changed with that mission, which was supposed to be handled by the fourth-year students.

Five students who took the mission were injured. They reported that the data was wrong and there were dangers beyond what was written. So, the staff had to complete the mission, and Reyna’s master took it to show her how the missions work.

This is to let her know what to do and what not to do while she will eventually go out on a mission.

Whatever she learned, Reyan relayed to Zara and also to Aaron, who in turn told Erika, who told Diana.

So, when they saw that there were only a few missions available on the board, they were surprised at first, but they quickly understood why that was the case.

The board would usually be full of missions. That was because there were more students present to take those missions, and they are stronger than the students who were available at the moment.

So, the academy has to take most of them down. Also, with the alliance directly giving most crafting orders, they didn’t need to be posted on the mission board.

The missions that remained are simpler missions that the first-year students can complete, if they are smart about it. There are a few crafting missions that came from other students.

Whether the students go out or hunt in the dungeons, they need weapons, armour and potions that help them heal and recover. Those supplies are always in demand and occupy most of the remaining missions posted on the board.

---

Even though the missions posted were fewer in number than they usually are, there are a lot, and with the lack of students who would partake in the mission, they would be staying on the board for a while.

One by one, the trio checked out the missions.

Though they are strong, especially with Aaron among the team, they didn’t want to take on a mission that could spell their doom. This first mission was to make them understand the world a little better.

They are not stupid enough to play heroes and die young. Unless someone they cared about was in danger, they wouldn’t make stupid moves.

They help where they can, but not beyond that.

The trio started to check the missions one by one and see which ones were the best for them.

After a while, their eyes stopped on five missions. These five are perfect for them, but the problem was that one can only take one mission at a time.

If they act as a team, they can only take one mission.

If they register differently, they can take three missions, and once outside, who can stop them from helping each other? They can complete their missions together and submit separately.

This was a loophole that the academy is aware of, but since that was not damaging to the students, they did nothing. In fact, they could do nothing, as making any moves would only waste their resources on unnecessary things.

"These five seem to be good for us, but even if we take them separately, we can only take three", Erika said, pointing out that there is a restriction regarding taking on missions.

This was done to eliminate students who would hog all missions to themselves, and thereby reduce the improvement of the students, not just because they wanted to improve, but to actually hinder others from growing stronger.

Things like that are common not just in the academy but in human society as a whole.

Humans look down on people beneath them, but when others grow beyond them, they would envy those who are better than them.

"Yeah, so we have to eliminate two missions. It would be simple", Diana said.

"It won’t be simple. Look at the missions again. Check their Time period", Aaron said as he re-read the missions before them to see which they should take, when he found something that they didn’t observe properly.

"Hmm", the girls wondered what Aaron was speaking about and checked the details again.

"Ah, Damn it", they gasped and curded a little, when they found out what he was pointing out.

The time period in which the missions needed to be completed was near to each other, but except for two missions, the other three are far away.

Without actually going to the location, they can’t guarantee that they can actually complete one mission, much less four additional missions, which are very far away.

If one takes on a mission and fails to complete the mission, they would be penalised, unless the mission was far dangerous than described beforehand. Only in that case would there be no penalties.

Even if that is so, the trio didn’t want to waste their time, as even if there are no penalties, they would be in a loss of time and resources that they invested in travelling to the location or if they fought and damaged their weapons or armour and got injured in the fight.

The academy would heal the injuries free of cost and would give some weapons and armour to protect them, but that might not be the best that one used to have before, just basic versions that they can use.

Instead of wasting time and resources, they finally made a decision to take on a single mission as a team. Depending on how the mission goes and after checking for a few more times, they can decide how to take on missions later on.

After making such a decision, they finally selected a mission that they would take and joined the queue in front of the counters to register their mission.

---

"Kekeke, now that I am sure, I need to relay the information, and I would get paid for this", the boy smirked, thinking about the future of the three.

As soon as the trio took the mission and were getting it registered, the boy left the hall to inform his young master.

What the boy didn’t know was that there was someone who was watching him, watching the trio, and when he left, that shadow followed him behind, unknown to anyone.
