Daoist Competition-Chapter 994 - 237: Joint Assault
Mu Bingxin called for help outside, just as Zhang Yan was about to rise, Xu Daoist halted him, saying, "Pavilion Master, I have heard of that ’Jade Purple Sun Seed,’ it is no ordinary item. You need not risk yourself personally, allow me to first probe it."
Zhang Yan chuckled softly, glanced at a wisp of yellow smoke inside the cabin, and said, "Daoist Xu and Daoist Zhang, both now esteemed Guest Elders of my pavilion, are you prepared to watch and do nothing?"
Xu Daoist was startled and said, "Is the Pavilion Master suggesting we all act against this person together?"
Zhang Yan naturally said, "Why not?"
He was not someone stubborn who adhered to solo duels. Previously, he often had to face many enemies alone, but now he has Xu and Zhang by his side, so why confront the enemy alone? Naturally, they should all go together and deal with it as a united force.
In the corner, Zhang Boyant materialized his figure, laughing heartily as he said, "Your words truly resonate with this old one’s preference."
Xu Daoist bowed his head in thought, then also laughed, saying, "I have indeed been thinking in error."
He stood up, shook open his large sleeves and, with high spirits, said, "Then I will meet this Tai Hao Sect master alongside the Pavilion Master."
Zhang Yan, however, waved his hand and said, "No rush, allow me to call Si Ren first."
When he was aboard the great boat, it often traveled to places where cultivation sects gathered. This Dragon Carp with just a slight movement could stir up wind and waves, so it was unsuitable to keep it by his side.
Zhang Yan did not restrict it, letting it roam in the deep sea. But now, having decided to act, he would exert his full strength, and the prowess of this demon couldn’t be overlooked, naturally, it was called back to contribute.
Xu Daoist, however, had a peculiar expression, knowing the Daoist cultivation of the Dragon Carp Demon nearly rivaled a Nascent Soul Third Realm cultivator. With the three of them and Mu Bingxin against He Daoist alone, it somewhat seemed like bullying with superior force.
Outside, after Mu Bingxin called for help, she received no response. Anxious, she thought to herself, "Could it be that Daoist Zhang has seen that Jade Purple Sun Seed and is unwilling to come out? Alas, I can’t blame him. This treasure is no ordinary item. Were it me, I would also hesitate to risk myself."
He Mulong, sharing the same thought, added mockery to his tone, scoffing, "Elder Mu, why isn’t that person coming out? Probably he can’t be relied on. If you promise to agree to the conditions I previously mentioned, today’s matter can be forgotten. If not, you can come with me to the mountain gate."
As he was speaking, suddenly the sea waves surged, demon clouds gathered in the heavenly sea, winds howled and rain poured. A loud and clear dragon roar echoed less than a thousand yards away, where a column of water spurted from the sea, and a demon with a dragon head and fish body burst from the ocean, encircled by a mysterious black cloud, its two feet perched upon the cloud top, gazing downwards.
He Mulong only took one look and was struck with alarm, immediately recognizing the origin of this demon. Feeling the incessant gales of demonic wind and gang evil, he instantly realized the demon’s cultivation exceeded his own,
With a sunken heart, he suddenly realized that the person he had to deal with was far from as simple as he had initially thought.
It was then that a gust of gang wind swept by the front, revealing a stately figure of a mystic robed Daoist standing twenty yards in front of him, hands behind his back.
Before He Mulong could scrutinize him clearly, he abruptly sensed a gloomy wind behind him. Turning his head, he glimpsed a murky yellow smoke whirling back and forth, his expression worsening.
By this time, Mu Bingxin also floated up to take her position solemnly on his left side.
He Mulong warily scanned the surroundings. Though his naked eyes couldn’t spot Xu Daoist, he sensed more than just the few people before him, feeling ill at ease.
Even with the supreme treasure in hand, he was only one individual. Now surrounded by several Nascent Soul Realm cultivators, he grew apprehensive and immediately had the urge to retreat.
With the thought, he shouted, turned the Dharma technique, transforming into a streak of green light, soaring high. Yet, having traversed over ten miles, when he attempted to ascend further, he found himself unable.
It was then he was shocked to discover that this realm was remarkably locked by a forbidden seal!
Circling once more, despair sunk in, he returned to the original spot with a somber face, addressing Zhang Yan, "Daoist, you truly employ fine means. Observing your pure spirit Dao Qi, you are likely a Xuanmen follower, yet you consort with evil demons and outer Daoists. Do you dare name yourself?"
Zhang Yan smiled mildly, offering a salute, "I am Mingcang Zhang Yan."
He Mulong fixated on him for a moment, harshly voicing, "You are Zhang Yan?"
Zhang Yan nodded, "Indeed, that’s me."
