Daoist Competition-Chapter 1043 - 261: Blood Essence Disciple Hidden Among Us (Part 2)
The two disciples guarding the post had cultivation similar to the newcomer. If they had officially resisted, they would never have been able to break through their joint efforts. However, they never expected anyone to attack them. Although they had the protection order flag issued by the mountain gate, in their flustered attempts to stop him, they didn’t lose their lives, but still suffered a loss, allowing him to break through.
Zhang Yan saw the situation was amiss, shouted coldly, leapt in a tunneling light, rushed to the front, shook his sleeve, and a gust of Gang Wind rolled down, effortlessly sweeping him up and pressing him onto the cloud head.
His eyes swept over, seeing a delicate white-clad young girl he had caught, looking fragile and pitiful. Just now, swept by the Gang Wind, she seemed to have fainted.
At this moment, the tunneling light behind hurriedly arrived; upon seeing Zhang Yan, the person couldn’t help but gasp in surprise, saying, "Uncle Zhang?"
Zhang Yan raised his eyebrows and looked over, having some impression of this person, seeming like Mo Tianhua’s disciple, and asked, "Are you from Junior Mo’s sect?"
Back then, among the lineage of master and disciple, twelve disciples had been escorted by him to cultivate in the small demon cave, and this person was one of them. Seeing that Zhang Yan still recognized him, he became excited and hastily saluted, saying, "Indeed, indeed, it’s nephew Yu Huo, greetings to Uncle Zhang."
Zhang Yan waved his hand, pointed at the girl, and asked in a deep voice, "What is going on here?"
Yu Huo glanced at her, his expression immediately changing to reveal a look of hatred. Gritting his teeth, he said, "To be honest with Uncle, this girl is a Demon Sect disciple who infiltrated our Mingcang Sect."
Zhang Yan’s expression hardened, becoming serious, and he asked, "How did you find out?"
Yu Huo seemed apprehensive, showing hesitation. At this time, the two guard disciples came over on a flying boat, and Zhang Yan glanced at them, waving his sleeve, saying, "Go farther away; without my command, do not come closer."
The two, being guards, naturally recognized Zhang Yan and fearfully saluted in silence before retreating.
Seeing Yu Huo’s expression, Zhang Yan guessed there might be more to the story and smirked, saying, "Since I ran into this, there’s no way I won’t ask. Don’t hold any hope of escape and just tell me honestly."
Even though Yu Huo had chased out of the mountain gate, he didn’t shout out the girl’s identity, not because he didn’t want to, but because he had received an order from a fellow disciple to keep quiet. Yet facing a Nascent Soul True Master, he really had no confidence, so he ambiguously confessed, "This girl attempted to harm our benevolent teacher but failed. I was merely ordered to pursue her."
The girl woke up at some point and, seeing herself lying beside Zhang Yan, her face turned deathly pale, knowing she couldn’t escape. Hearing Yu Huo’s words, she couldn’t help but sarcastically say, "Clearly, the teacher coveted my beauty and carelessly drank the secret medicine of my sect, falling for the trick. If it weren’t for that little girl Mo Ying breaking my plan, Mo Tianhua would have been in my grasp by now."
The girl was actually a Loose Cultivator rescued by Mo Tianhua during his travels forty years ago. Seeing her pitiable state, he brought her back to the residence and accepted her as a disciple, though she never went through a formal apprenticeship ceremony.
Who knew the girl was remarkable, reaching the Xuan Guang Realm within just over thirty years? Mo Tianhua was delighted, for such talent was considered outstanding even among his many disciples, and he grew fond of her. Recently, he even thought of making her his concubine.
But he never suspected that the girl was a Demon Sect disciple with ulterior motives, deliberately staying beside him. She had been hiding her intentions for years, waiting until she earned his complete trust before attempting her plan, nearly succeeding.
Zhang Yan couldn’t help but shake his head. Mo Tianhua, a Hua Dan cultivator with numerous disciples, held a status that would be considered among the best in smaller sects; yet he was almost deceived by an Xuan Guang level Demon Sect disciple.
If this matter spread, the loss of face would be minor; it might be difficult for him to hold his head high before fellow sect members in the future, and it could even bring contempt upon his sect. No wonder Yu Huo was so hesitant and reluctant to speak, likely aware of the severe implications.
Zhang Yan fixed his gaze on the girl’s face and said, "You hid in our Mingcang Sect with such effort just to ambush Junior Mo? Do you hold a deep vendetta against him?"
The girl, knowing her fate was sealed, straightforwardly replied, "I hold no grudges against Mo Tianhua, just chose him by coincidence. I am a disciple of the Blood Essence Sect; if I can devour the essence and divine soul of a Xuanmen Hua Dan cultivator, who among my peers would be my match?"
Zhang Yan frowned and said, "As far as I know, the Blood Essence Sect’s cultivation technique is vastly different from our Xuanmen. How did you manage to deceive Junior Mo?"
The girl replied proudly, "My cultivation is genuine Xuanmen Technique, painstakingly refined over many years. Otherwise, how could I have fooled Old Thief Mo? I only planned to capture him, return to the sect, and abolish this cultivation technique to start anew."
Hearing this, Zhang Yan couldn’t help but take a second look at the girl, feeling somewhat impressed by her.
Not to mention the daring of her plan, just the thought of discarding decades of hard cultivation without hesitation showed a determination few people possess. If it weren’t for running into him today, she might have actually succeeded.
Yu Huo was speechless, and after a long silence, he angrily said, "Demoness, you hurt my master; I will grind your bones to dust!"
The girl coldly laughed, "Since I’ve fallen into your hands, I have no thoughts of returning alive; just give me a swift death!"
Zhang Yan calmly said, "You will certainly die, but before that, you need to tell me who in our mountain gate has been aiding you?"
