Daddy! Come Home for Dinner!-Chapter 606: There Can’t Be Nothing
Xiao Mo called out for mom and dad, without needing any further explanation.
He called it out so openly and rightfully.
In the father’s column, his name was written.
Zhao Yumo’s full name was printed there.
Back when they were at the old house, Xiao Mo rarely clung to Zhao Gushen’s side.
Calling out for dad repeatedly in a sweet, sticky voice.
He seemed so eager to roll around on Zhao Gushen’s leg that Zhao Gushen couldn’t bear to leave him at the old house.
Tonight is also the night when the three of them truly became a family.
It was very important to Xiao Mo, too.
Now that Xiao Mo got into bed, the little guy thought about it and giggled under the covers.
The feeling was different.
Before, even though he knew Zhao Gushen was his dad, his real dad,
there was always a sense of being a guest.
But now, it’s really his own home.
"Look at your silly expression," Zhao Gushen couldn’t help but tease.
But after teasing, he couldn’t help but laugh as well.
"Go to sleep already," Zhao Gushen said again.
Xiao Mo giggled foolishly under the covers again.
Ye Fei, feeling a bit helpless, opened a pack of children’s steam eye masks for him to wear.
The faint scent of chamomile and the gentle warmth of the eye mask lulled the little guy’s eyelids.
Before long, the little guy fell asleep unknowingly in the soft scent and warmth.
Only then did Ye Fei and Zhao Gushen leave the little guy’s bedroom, not expecting that Zhao Gushen didn’t immediately return to their bedroom.
Instead, he took Ye Fei to the living room, as if she were visiting for the first time, giving her a thorough look around.
Ye Fei looked at Zhao Gushen in confusion.
Zhao Gushen finally stopped and looked down at Ye Fei, his voice slightly low: "Welcome back to our home."
"Before, when you lived here, it was only as my girlfriend, my fiancée. It might have felt a bit lacking as a home."
"But now, you are truly the mistress of this house. This is where we will live after marriage, your home."
Ye Fei was taken aback, staring blankly at Zhao Gushen.
She lifted her eyes to his gentle gaze and faintly smiling face.
She didn’t expect him to be so thoughtful, noticing even such small details.
Ye Fei always thought she considered this place her home while living here.
Until tonight, returning with a new identity, as Zhao Gushen’s wife, she realized the feeling was different.
Prior to this, it felt like she was cohabiting with Zhao Gushen; she wasn’t really the mistress of the house, just Zhao Gushen’s girlfriend, or at best, his fiancée.
In reality, if she had to speak from her heart, her first reaction was always that this was Zhao Gushen’s home.
But from now on, that feeling is gone.
If you ask her now, her first reaction is that this is our home.
So that’s what being married feels like.
Things that didn’t seem to belong to her before now feel like they do.
There’s no more division between yours and mine.
Ye Fei was in a daze when she saw Zhao Gushen’s gentle smile and heard his tender voice say, "Mrs. Zhao."
Ye Fei’s cheeks warmed with a faint blush.
Then Zhao Gushen said, "Tomorrow, move all your room’s things here."
Even though the two had been living in the same room for a while, Ye Fei’s belongings were still in her original room and had not been moved into Zhao Gushen’s room.
So Zhao Gushen always felt something was missing in his room, making it not really feel like a shared bedroom.
Simply put, it was just cohabitation.
But starting tonight, his bedroom will be their master bedroom.
Just imagining his room filled with Ye Fei’s things makes him feel very satisfied.
Ye Fei nodded obediently, now fully realizing there’s no need to separate his room from her room anymore.
"I never thought we would marry so suddenly," Ye Fei whispered.
Zhao Gushen couldn’t help but laugh: "Should we take out the marriage certificate again for a better confirmation?"
Ye Fei was about to say that wasn’t necessary.
It just felt like everything happened so suddenly today.
Suddenly, they decided to get married; this morning when they left, she was only Zhao Gushen’s fiancée, girlfriend.
But returning, she was already Zhao Gushen’s wife, his real wife.
They initially stepped out just to attend a wedding, not even planning to get a marriage license, but it happened outside their plan.
By the time they came back, everything had changed.
Their status changed, and so did their mindset.
"I am now Mrs. Zhao, your wife," Ye Fei said.
As if saying it to Zhao Gushen, but also confirming it to herself.
Zhao Gushen nodded patiently: "That’s right."
"From now on, when people see us together and get curious..."
Ye Fei hadn’t finished her sentence before Zhao Gushen immediately said, "You can tell them I’m your husband, and you’re my wife."
"From now on, you are no longer a person without a home," Zhao Gushen said. "You have a home, and you have family."
"If anyone bullies you, you have us. You have me, mom and dad, the elders," Zhao Gushen said. "We have your back and support you. If you’re wronged, just come back and tell us."
Ye Fei rested her forehead on Zhao Gushen’s chest, feeling a deep sense of contentment.
Zhao Gushen took Ye Fei back to their room, where they took out their marriage certificate.
The marriage certificate needs to be properly stored.
As Ye Fei was about to put it away, she heard Zhao Gushen say, "By the way, where do you keep your camera?"
"It’s in the study," Ye Fei replied, "Why?"
"We still haven’t taken our wedding photos," Zhao Gushen said.
Ye Fei struggled to keep up with Zhao Gushen’s pace.
Zhao Gushen planned to take out the camera to snap wedding photos himself?
But, while they had a camera, they didn’t have wedding attire yet.
"Is it in your desk drawer?" Zhao Gushen asked again.
"I’ll go with you," Ye Fei suggested, "Next time, you should familiarize yourself with my study."
"That way, whatever you’re looking for, you won’t need to wait for me, you can find it yourself," Ye Fei said as she walked with Zhao Gushen to the study.
Zhao Gushen enjoyed how Ye Fei kept nothing from him.
As far as Ye Fei was concerned, there was nothing to hide.
They were open enough to even access each other’s phones.
Ye Fei kept her photography equipment in a cabinet.
Just as she took out the camera, she saw Zhao Gushen had brought their marriage certificate along.
It was placed on the desk.
"We haven’t taken our wedding photos yet, but the room does feel like it’s missing something," Zhao Gushen said.
"When people get married, they hang wedding photos in the bedroom; our bedroom needs something too," Zhao Gushen said while busy arranging the marriage certificates.
Yes, even though it’s just two marriage certificates,
Zhao Gushen wanted to arrange them nicely.
