Cursed Bloodline: Awakened a Hidden Class in a Game World-Chapter 54: Second Boss
The next day, Zane returned to the second floor of the dungeon, and this time he brought along Lucy and Grey. Ava said she had things to do, so she stayed.
They made it to the second floor and headed deep inside. Finally, a hobgoblin came rushing toward Zane.
"Alright, let’s get to this," he muttered and lunged forward at top speed. The goblin slashed, and he sidestepped, dodging the rusted blade, then stabbed his dagger into its chest.
He pulled out the dagger and slashed its head clean off. He left the crystal behind for Lucy to pick up and dashed ahead.
"Grey, grind as much as you can, grow your strength," Zane said. Grey nodded and also ran after him.
Another hobgoblin came rushing toward Zane. He sidestepped and dodged it, grabbed it by the neck, tripped it, and slammed its head into the ground, shattering its skull. He looked up, and more were already rushing toward him.
For the sake of reducing distractions, he turned off all notifications from the system except for those that were very important, like leveling up.
He pushed through, slashing through goblins quickly, very quickly. The bodies hit the floor and burst into light, leaving behind their crystals.
After more than thirty minutes of killing hobgoblins, he finally entered level 12 and also found the boss room.
A large wooden stone-made door called to him to enter. He looked behind him and saw only Lucy; he didn’t even notice when Grey took his own path.
"Lucy, I’ll enter the boss room alone. I need to fight it and get stronger," Zane said.
"Master, I can tell that there is a strong monster inside that room; it’s unsafe for you to go alone," she said.
"Don’t worry about it, Lucy. Even if it’s extremely strong, I can’t really die now, can I? It will just hurt, a lot," he said with a forced smile, then faced the door.
"I should put in all my stats for now and make sure that I am strong enough."

He noticed something about his mana, somehow it had increased from eleven thousand to twenty-one thousand. His original mana was already far too much for one person, especially someone at his level.
But twenty-one thousand? That was downright too much. He couldn’t stop himself from grinning when he saw it.
"Alright, calm down. We don’t know why it added, but we take it. Let’s allocate the points first."
Without much thought, he poured points into strength, speed, agility, and defense, then placed the rest in intelligence.

With all the stats set, he gave Lucy a final nod and headed for the door. He placed his hand on the door, and it immediately started opening, sounding like a stone grinding machine. He walked in without hesitation, and the door behind him shut close.
Torches along the wall and pillars suddenly lit up one after the other until the room was fully illuminated. The light revealed a Goblin General sitting on a massive black marble throne. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
This goblin general was much bigger than the last one, covered from head to toe in heavy armor.
Its eyes glowed red in the dark as its hand rubbed against the massive one-edged great black sword.
It was level 15, but Zane could already tell it was several times stronger than the last, or any, opponent he had faced, save the bear.
It rose to its feet, and the hall trembled. It carried the sword and swung, releasing a sword wave, very large and very fast.
Zane immediately rolled out of the way. The sword arc cut into the wall, leaving a very deep gash.
Zane got back to his feet, gripping the dagger tighter. The goblin general stomped forward, every step making the ground shake. It swung the massive black sword again, this time in a wide arc.
Zane didn’t run. Instead, his body sank into the shadow on the ground, disappearing right before the blade passed. The sword sliced through the air, missing him completely.
A second later, he rose out of a shadow behind the goblin, slashing at the back of its knee. The blade cut into the gap in the armor, but before he could strike again, the goblin spun with surprising speed and swung.
Zane sank into the shadow again, reappearing near the wall, breathing steadily.
The goblin’s eyes glowed brighter. It charged, swinging with such force that the air itself seemed to crack. Zane slipped into a shadow at its feet and appeared at the side of the throne, stabbing at the joint in the goblin’s arm.
The dagger dug in slightly, black blood dripping out, but the goblin didn’t slow down. It slammed its sword into the floor, breaking the stone and sending a shockwave that almost knocked Zane off balance.
He dropped into the darkness again before the goblin’s follow-up swing could hit him. The shadow under the throne spat him out, and he rolled forward, slicing at the goblin’s hip before vanishing again.
The goblin roared and swung wildly, the blade cutting deep scars into the stone walls. It couldn’t keep track of where Zane would appear next.
Zane emerged just behind its left leg, stabbing twice before it could turn. Then he sank into the floor, letting the torchlight cast long shadows he could swim through.
The hall was his hunting ground now.
The goblin raised its sword and sent a massive slash across the hall, the wave of force slicing through the stone pillars. Zane appeared from the shadow of one falling pillar, running straight at it and striking the back of its armored arm. The blow was light, just enough to chip at it, and then he vanished again.
But the goblin was learning.
When Zane appeared near its side again, the goblin didn’t turn to swing. Instead, it stomped the ground so hard that the shadow under Zane twisted with the vibration, forcing him out early. He barely managed to block the incoming swing, the impact throwing him into the wall.
The stone cracked behind him. His body throbbed with pain, but the wounds healed instantly.
He spat blood that wasn’t his and stood again. "Not bad."
The goblin charged. Zane slipped under its swing by sinking into the sword’s shadow itself, appearing at its shoulder and driving his dagger into the neck gap. The dagger stuck for a moment before he yanked it out, black blood spraying across his face.
The goblin howled, swinging again in pure rage. Zane dropped low and sank into the goblin’s own shadow, reappearing just behind it, only to have to vanish again when it turned too quickly.
This was becoming a game of patience. He couldn’t match its strength, not even close. But every cut, every stab, was adding up.
The goblin swung in a wild spin, the sword smashing through a pillar, sending dust and debris everywhere. The torches flickered, making the shadows in the hall stretch and twist.
Perfect.
Zane darted through them like a fish in water, emerging only to strike at weak spots, the back of the knees, under the arms, the side of the neck. Each time, the goblin reacted slower, but its power didn’t fade.
One wrong move, and he’d be dead.
The goblin slammed the sword into the ground again, breaking the floor in a wide circle. The shockwave made the shadows shift, forcing Zane to reappear mid-air.
The goblin was ready this time, swinging upward in a brutal arc. Zane barely managed to twist in the air, the blade grazing his side and sending a spray of blood.
He hit the ground hard but rolled away instantly, sinking into the nearest shadow before the goblin’s follow-up hit.
Black blood dripped from the goblin’s armor now, but it still stood like an unmovable wall.
Zane came out of the shadows; all his wounds had healed. He looked at the goblin with a smile. "If I keep going this way, I would eventually end you, but I don’t think you and I want that," Zane said. He flipped his dagger around and got into a stance.
What he didn’t expect was for the goblin general to suddenly let out a deafening roar that shook the hall. All the pillars collapsed, and a dark red aura formed around the goblin.
It pointed its sword at Zane; the aura spread to the entire sword and then compressed. Zane looked at that sword, and the aura it gave off was terrifying.
"Seems you are going all out against me, that’s pretty nice. I’ll go all out against you as well," Zane said, switching his sword into a reverse grip.
