Cultivation Starts with Rejuvenation-Chapter 36 - 2: I Want to Go Home
As the tremor came again, the protective water curtain over the flying boat flickered, visibly weakening by thirty percent.
The young Immortal Master unleashed a magical artifact, but instantly lost the opponent’s aura.
"Humph! Cowardly scoundrels." With a cold snort, he couldn’t determine whether it was a human cultivator or a demon beast that had just attacked, so he immediately adjusted the flying boat’s direction slightly and accelerated forward.
After waiting for a moment and with no further incidents, a few of the Immortal Seedlings hesitantly inquired, "Immortal Master? Just now... could someone have dared to attack you, Immortal Master?"
"Humph! It was likely some unsavory tribulation cultivator who didn’t see clearly whose flying boat this was. There’s no need for you to panic!" The young Immortal Master arrogantly raised his chin.
"Tribulation cultivator?" The Immortal Seedlings didn’t quite understand, and it changed their conception of the Immortal Realm they had imagined before.
"Tribulation Cultivator!" Li Ji’an was quite familiar with these words.
"Was the ominous sign really a tribulation cultivator?" He didn’t trust the words of the young cultivator. How could such a large flying boat not be seen clearly, and moreover, why would it be attacked twice?
But the reality was that after the two attacks just now, there really was no more action.
"No, something’s wrong!" Suddenly, Li Ji’an’s eyes snapped open.
"Immortal Master, be careful, we might have fallen into an ambush!"
"Hm? Ambush? What do you know of the Immortal Realm? In this Cangyun State, who dares to ambush me? Moreover, my flying boat is advancing at full speed, capable of traversing a hundred miles in an instant, who could possibly ambush us?" The young Immortal Master was stunned, then glanced disdainfully at Li Ji’an and sneered.
Li Ji’an’s brows knitted together, and he only spoke up to warn because they were on the same boat now.
He had already figured out why the opponent ceased action after the two attacks.
Clearly, it was to intentionally drive the flying boat in a specific direction, just like a shepherd dog herding sheep.
The young Immortal Master had now changed direction and was surely about to enter some pre-arranged ambush.
The opponent planned in advance and knew their flight path, and this fool was still young and arrogant, dangerous!
Buzz~
Just as he was pondering how to save himself, a sudden buzzing sound of heaven and earth rang out.
Li Ji’an instantly felt deafened and looked up to see an invisible barrier like a heavenly net appearing abruptly.
Immediately, the rapidly flying boat was fixed in mid-air.
The immense inertia caused those inside the boat to be flung out, colliding with the water curtain.
"Pfft~" The Immortal Seedling with the lowest Martial Dao realm was directly shattered internally, spewing a mouthful of blood.
Except for Li Ji’an and Zhao Shuyao, who immediately circulated their Qi and blood for protection and were unharmed, the others suffered varying degrees of injury.
And it wasn’t over yet. Once the flying boat was fixed in the sky, it only struggled for a moment before rapidly shrinking, eventually becoming a palm-sized little boat.
After the ten Immortal Seedlings tumbled from the water curtain, with no flying boat beneath their feet, they plummeted downward toward the hundred-zhang-high below.
It was at this moment that Li Ji’an saw the endless yellow sand below!
"Spirit-Trapping Array!" It took the young Immortal Master three full breaths to react as he looked incredulously at the immobilized flying boat, shocked to the core.
The Spirit-Trapping Array was an advanced Tier One array, capable of ensnaring upper-grade magical artifacts, difficult for any but seasoned Array Masters to set up, and the array base materials were costly, far beyond what common tribulation cultivators could afford.
Coincidentally, the flying boat bestowed by his ancestor for guiding these ants was an upper-grade flying boat; barring the Spirit-Trapping Array, there was virtually no worry in the southern part of Cangyun State.
Clearly, this was targeting me!
"Who is it? Come out!" The young Immortal Master brandished the Chongshan Seal, holding it high as if ready to strike down at any moment.
"Swoosh~" What responded to him were several Fireball Techniques.
"Cowardly scoundrel, take this!" The Chongshan Seal suddenly smashed down on a pile of yellow sand below, scattering sparks from the fireballs in all directions.
Obviously, the opponent’s Fireball Technique posed no threat to him wielding the Chongshan Seal.
After all, his Chongshan Seal was also gifted by his ancestor, a genuine supreme magical artifact!
However, before he could be pleased, his expression changed drastically.
He saw several fireballs shooting towards the ten falling Immortal Seedlings.
"Is this your true aim?"
With no time to wield the Chongshan Seal, the young Immortal Master unleashed all his magical power: "Heaven and Earth, Shield Arise!"
Rumble~
The earth trembled as a foot-thick earth wall rose from the yellow sand.
Yet, it was ultimately a step too late; some fireballs had already pierced through the Earth Shield, whistling towards the falling Immortal Seedlings.
"Boom!"
"Ah!"
One Immortal Seedling was hit by a fireball, and as sparks flew, the entire body was enshrouded in flames, a harrowing scream echoing through the yellow sands.
"Immortal Master, save us!" The remaining Immortal Seedlings, having witnessed the scene, were terrified out of their wits, crying out desperately for help.
"Ah! I don’t want to die, I haven’t become an Immortal yet..." Another was burned to ash by a fireball.
Even the first one who crashed into the water curtain and fell unconscious on the sand below didn’t escape, being burned awake and letting out heart-wrenching howls.
Fireballs, wails, charred smoke... made the scene even more chaotic, and the remaining Immortals were filled with fear.
"This is not the Immortal Realm, this is Hell!"
"I don’t want to become an Immortal, I just want to be a mortal, I want to go back..." Someone cried in fright, wishing to return home immediately.
"Is this what an Immortal is?" Zhao Shuyao was also trembling all over, unable to fully unleash her power as a Qi Blood Master.
Only Li Ji’an, mentally prepared, with Qi and blood simmering through his body and a strong divine soul, his senses keen, grabbed Zhao Shuyao by the collar, dodging three fireball attacks consecutively, managing to remain composed.
"Pull yourselves together! If you want to live, you must save yourselves!" Seeing the remaining few Immortal Seedlings about to die tragically, Li Ji’an sank his Qi to his Dantian, his voice rumbling like thunder.
Similar to the effect of the Lion’s Roar Technique, the rest of the Immortal Seedlings were shaken to their core and finally came to their senses.
That’s when they realized that the young Guiding Immortal Master was engaged in magical combat with two figures enveloped in white mist, fighting one against two, without any time to save them.
Meanwhile, not far away from under the sand mounds, two more figures emerged, both with masked faces.
"You two, swiftly slay the Blood Slaves. Be vigilant."
"Rest assured, Uncle, these mere mortals are no more than slaughtering chickens and dogs!"
With that said, the two moved like the wind, arriving instantly before the remaining seven Immortal Seedlings.
"Let’s see who can kill more?"
"A competition then!" The two struck a wager.
"Immortal Master, spare us!" One Immortal Seedling, frightened out of his mind, knelt directly to beg for mercy upon seeing the two Immortal Masters floating towards them.
"Swoosh~" The masked figure on the left was quicker, waving his hand, and a Wind Blade sliced through, severing that Immortal Seedling’s head like slicing a watermelon.
"Ah!" The gushing hot blood drenched a clever female Immortal Seedling entirely, but no amount of cunning mind, depth of scheming, or myriad machinations were of any use in the face of extreme terror, leaving her only with a terrified wail.
"Noisy!" The other masked cultivator pointed sharply at her with a sword finger.
"Swoosh~" A flying sword as thin as a cicada’s wing pierced through her heart on the spot.
"Don’t just sit and wait to die! Resist!" Watching as those regarded as heavenly talents under the Immortal Dynasty were killed effortlessly without any resistance, Li Ji’an’s expression turned extremely grim.
Endless yellow sands, boundless, there was no escape.
Only resistance could offer a sliver of hope for survival!
